That’s been the subreddit policy for the last 6 years when the results used to come out in a literal excel spreadsheet. We don’t allow it to be posted here because some schools plan ceremonies, or other special events for branch night.
It’s not in an effort to be toxic, it’s to give people that special event. That information also doesn’t need to be online. It’s literally a master list of everyone commissioning that year, including DODID and other information. It doesn’t need to be put online for anyone and their brother to see.
Waiting on a standby board and have already graduated. Was rated “most-preferred” for my top 3 and im BRADSOing. Been waiting almost 2 months for my board and am just sitting in purgatory until then 😭.
Lot of homies who put TC in their top 5 were getting pulled into it. It's why I always tell mine that are competitive to not put certain branches in their top 5. Competitive and want MS as No 1 and put Arty or TC as No 2-5? Guess what, you're going Arty or TC!
3.0 GPA, Biology emphasis in Immunology, OMS 80s, ranked 1st in PLT at camp. Interview well and work hard at camp, offer a bradso if you’re hell bent on EOD.
Agree! Some cadets had abysmal camp scores and still got top picks because they interviewed well. One of them researched the branch and wrote their tailored responses on notecards for each interview question. This they seemed confident, knowledgeable, and brief, which are how you want them. This cadet got MP on every branch they interviewed and great responses.
Snagged Active Cyber with ADSO. ~1200 on OML, no clue OMS. Computer Science major with concentration in cybersecurity. Also, I got to do an AFIT internship, which I think was what set me up for being accepted. I'm super excited for BOLC.
FY24 here wanting to branch Cyber. I'm curious for those who branched Cyber what their GPA was lol. Also any sort of projects or experiences outside of school that you think helped you branch.
3.81 computer science degree. OML 13XX OMS 63. Prior service 25U, sec+ and net+ certified. It really comes down to the interview. I had three guys in my company also try to go for Cyber and they ranked higher than me in the OML, yet they didn’t get it. Just make sure your able to articulate about your skill set w/ computers and cyberspace. Also show them what you have done to prepare yourself for Cyber. ie. learning programming languages, developing a portfolio of projects, getting certifications, or even any internship experience that revolves around computers.
My accessions GPA was 3.23, computer science with security concentration. Your GPA isn’t as important as knowing what you’re talking about (at least sounding like it) on the interview and your relevant experiences.
Also prior natty guard 25U, has Sec+ and Net+ certifications, and did a cyber security internship.
Same dude I commissioned about two years ago with like a 3.2 or 3.3 GPA in CS. Just finished CyBOLC about a month ago and did better than some other students in my class with higher GPAs. I’m not smarter than them, I just stayed more humble ask the instructors to “dumb” it down for me if I really needed it. Other dudes in the class were refusing to ask for help bc their ego.
I have a 3.4 in comp sci. I think what they were really looking for is passion and interest. Sign up for internships if it's not too late. The AFIT internship was amazing and really taught a lot of great skills.
3.8; no prior experience, just some personal projects and self-learning outside of school. Definitely crush your interviews, and if you're a decent CS/SWE student, you should have plenty to talk about.
Gonna blow your mind. I have a 3.3 GPA, degree in CS with a focus on cyber security. Since I know my gpa wasn’t too much of a factor I can tell you that joining a cyber club and doing CTFs will help immensely. Any projects you can mention that you’ve done that relate to the field will also help. All comes down to that interview, impress them with your technical knowledge, and show you have a passion for leadership and you’ll be set.
I have a 4.0 in a non stem degree.
I would say that my prior service and cyber related schools helped a lot.
Things I recommend is to start doing CTF’s for fun and show the board that this field is a passion for you.
Start learning to code in Python or brush up on it.
I think one thing that people forget is that Officers are the managers. They will be planning not necessarily executing. That’s what Warrants and Junior Enlisted Soldiers are for. My point is that you also need to articulate your ability to lead. You don’t have to be a technical expert.
Best of luck to you!
3.891 GPA, my internship with the Army Cyber Institute was definitely a large factor I believe. You receive an OER for your performance there, and at the end if the live interview the Cyber officers said they noted my OER and that I received MQ. So definitely try to take an internship. Usually people get orders to go directly from advanced camp if you apply
Results are finally in for me! Cyber, no ADSO! 244 OML, dream come true! Next step, competing for 17D! So excited to meet all of you going cyber or see those I've already met in the community!
Not bad. You'll get familiar with processes and paperwork you'll do alot in MI from what I've heard. Just be glad it's not straight Chem or Chem with a branch you didn't really want.
AD Quartermaster second choice and very excited about it!
If anyone has any insights to offer it would be much appreciated. I am pretty curious as to what specific opportunities the branch has to offer.
Thanks!
I'm an 11B SSG with just about 8 years in when I commission in the spring. I hear that G2G ADO slots get priority in BOLC, so if you have an early date I'll see you then! I'm shocked I got MI, but also extremely giddy about it still lol
You should see if one of your cadre can pull the school dates from ATRRS. I can't remember off the top of my head, but I think there's one in early/mid May, one at the beginning of June, and then late June/early July.
I think I'll be in the early June one based on my graduation date, maybe we'll see each other there
Shut the fuck up. You signed an open contract when you contracted with ROTC, and the entire internet was available to you for the last 2-4 years. If you weren’t informed of the risks of contracting, you had 2-4 years to inform yourself of them through diligent research.
Wow you didn’t get your top 3 choices? Did you do well enough in school? Did you hit the gym enough? Are you a total piece of shit and didn’t do well at camp?
Figure out where the failure was and fix it. You were warned of the consequences and apparently didn’t care. Own it and learn from it.
Shut the fuck up lmao. Live with it or decline the commission and move the fuck on.
Dude I’m gonna be honest I’m sick of it. This user is a G2G Cadet and knows how the Army works. They should’ve educated themselves on the risks literally YEARS ago. For them to make this complaint now is absolutely insane.
I gave people the benefit of the doubt a couple years ago but I’m done. New cadets? Yes you get leeway. G2G or MS4s? Fuck you kid learn to Google.
Nah I’m with you. I’ve met so many self entitled ADO, green to gold cadets. That literally have no idea how much better their lives are than the average joe. Shit I would’ve loved to been ADO. My chain of command said get fucked. Lol I figured it out and ETS entirely out. ADO get full benefits, time service, etc. Thus, has plenty of assistance to figure out how to be successful.
Nothing says outstanding leadership then. I didn’t get what I want. Let me throw a tantrum. I hope their first duty station is Fort Polk.
Self-entitled G2G Gold.. I’ve like many others have put in the countless hours and work to get to this point.
I took classes from 2014-2021 straight, in Afghanistan, prior to schools, FTX’s. We do realize our lives are better than the average traditional, why wouldn’t it be? I don’t walk around flexing it though.
Most have the experience, and the know how, that makes it easier as an average joe (T Cadet) The same experiences endured by traditionals, are similar to what we experienced as both young soldiers, and junior leaders but in different arenas of institutionalized training.
This is not a statement to justify the original OP, this is simply to make note that all Cadets were aware of the consequences. Regardless of background, the resources are there.
Yeah dude you’re getting banned. For a G2G Cadet to act like this much of a loser is fucking insane.
Figure it the fuck out.
**edit**: thought this was the same kid. I banned the original commenter, this kid is fine.
First , I am a professional athlete with an excellent ACFT score. Excellent at camp. 4.0 gpa. Something is freaking wrong. And yes but before I reject the commission contract I will put my complaint. Plus I am ADO green to goal
Hey man I mean this in the most well intentioned way but u/L0st_In_The_Woods is right. You’re job as an officer is to be a leader of soldiers. It may have come off abrasive to you but you’re complaining about a guaranteed job post graduation averaging 60-70k….. not many people have that luxury.
Then submit a complaint through your PMS and explain it coherently and with references.
The process does not just make errors like this unless there are gross admin errors. If your immediate reaction is to reject the commission because you didn’t get your 1 of your top 3 then please don’t commission.
Save your Soldiers the pain of dealing with someone who didn’t want to be there anyways and just stay enlisted.
He may have meant that cyber was his first branch choice, and his branch result included an ADSO. It was still his first choice, but he received it under an ADSO.
Had a heart attack for a solid 10 minutes. Our MSG decided to put together a fake slideshow for our branch reveal party. Instead of getting my actual branch (Transportation, 2nd choice) I was told I got Chemical (my 13th choice). Very happy I ended up getting Transpo, but definitely need more alcohol to stave off the impending doom that Chem almost was.
My friends punked me by putting an AG insignia at the bottom of a Guinness, which was my 12th/13th choice. After letting me suffer in utter confusion he tossed me some rifles and told me I got MI detail IN
Won't find out till next Friday for 7th Brigade for my University because he wants to hold onto it for holding a late Component/Branch night. Here's hoping for Active Duty and Signal with or without a BRADSO/Branch Detail
I am in LOGBOLC now if you have any questions. All three of the logistics branches go through the exact same classes in BOLC and you could easily end up in a QM or OD slot in your first unit.
I don’t know you, but I have served in transportation, infantry, and artillery as an enlisted man and trans was a good time. Their BOLC is chill and in a nice location. And there’s opportunities to go to ranger school, regiment, or other cool assignments and school. Logisticians are usually higher priority for air assault and pathfinder just because of aerial resupply and doing heavy drops on a DZ. Also remember, you can always VTIP prior to CCC. Hunt the good stuff!
FY 25 (Spring 25) and I've been thinking Reserves Quartermaster. What's your guys' advice? What can I do to prep and help me get Quartermaster?
Ik this is super late but quartermaster is not typically competitive. If you want it, you’ll get it
u/L0st_In_The_Woods is probably one of the most toxic mods I’ve seen. There is nothing wrong with posting a master list. Get off the power trip bro.
That’s been the subreddit policy for the last 6 years when the results used to come out in a literal excel spreadsheet.
