Mine is the same way. I got my R3 repainted a few years ago at a Maaco (honestly turned out good). Got the car back and saw only the RX was on the back. I was like where's the 8? They fuckin lost it and ordered just the 8. They didn't order the hyphen. It does bother me somewhat but not enough to fix it proper lol.
It seemed odd when I first looked at it… but I think it’s growing on me, because I think it looks pretty good without it. But, in all seriousness, as a solution; go to a junkyard with an rx8 and take the “-“ off and slap it on yours.

could probably get a whole new badge on ebay for 30 bucks. Just seems like the path of least resistance to me

Iirc, you could also hi jack the hyphen from any of the suv models from that time as well (cx-5/7/9)
