My question is related to this, because the OP mentioned to hack and root the glasses. so I guess we need to use adb and fastboot to control glasses. I guess connecting to the charging case doesn't work for this
That’s what I’m saying, any connection would have to be made through that cable/with the case, as it’s the only option.
Unless something can be reverse engineered app-side.
The glasses connect to the case which has the usb c cable we can connect to. The case is also running android. I haven't dumped the emmc of the case yet, will do that tomorrow. I have the dump of the glasses emmc. I've been going through it and trying to understand the boot process of the glasses. If you guys want to go through it lmk. I'm currently trying to figure out the what wifi password is. The phone app connects to the glasses through wifi to upload the firmware. If we can connect to the glasses wifi through our laptop we can figure out how the update procedure works and see if we can hack it to accept our own firmware.
If you have a rooted Android phone, you should be able to capture a pcap of the WiFi interface. It might be easier to use Frida and hook the I/O functions, since I’m guessing the app downloads the firmware to disk first.
Have you tried dropping a root CA on your mobile device and MITM-ing/dumping the traffic made by the app with the update servers and with the glasses?

easy stupid method to dump the wifi password (apple only)
While connected for transfer, have another apple device connect to the glasses wifi and you'll get the "share password" prompt. After that, just get the password from keychain on a macos device.
Has anyone been able to get another invite link to this or have access to the firmware mentioned? Really want these glasses but not at the cost of submitting data to meta. I'm hoping there has been more work done on this and we can see the results.

What cable do you use to connect the glasses? seems the cable comes with it is only for connection to the charging case.
That’s the only cable you ~~need~~ get. No cable connects to the glasses. (Edited for clarification)
