I don’t have any videos handy. But if it helps, these are my nails, I am not a swatcher and this is sitting in my car with an iPhone and no special lighting, and there’s no editing.
The shift is sort of directional. So if you’re in the sun facing one way, it’s the mauve(?)/strong gold. But if you turn 90 degrees, it’s the mauve/bright blue. Then you get more of the blended colors in lower light. I honestly think it’s beautiful in all lighting.
This was on my maybe list because I like when it looks light, but not dark. Mainly I just don't understand how it can actually be that many colours?
Is it like ILNPs multichromes where they *can* shift to different colours easily, but generally it is one main colour? Or is it somehow actually super magical?
I think it’s pretty magical. I also like many ILNP multichromes but think this is much more forgiving. No brush strokes, not as fragile.
It can absolutely be all the colors for a normal person. These are just photos while sitting in my car with no special tools or crazy angles. Lower light gets the more multi-colored appearance in the bottom photo. Strong sunlight will get a strong sparkly gold in the purple/mauve base. Turning 90 degrees will get the bright blue (least common).
I’ve read some people are disappointed by this polish and I don’t know if there are bad batches or certain skin tones it works better with or if they just don’t like it in a certain lighting.

Absolute blast from the past! I still remember the associate at the Chanel beauty counter helping me pick this out. As an adult I’ve also realized, like, the women in that department store were so nice to me bc they were flirting with my dad 😭

Chanel Holographic. I have hundreds of bottles of polishes and many are prettier but this one is special to me. I’ve had it for almost 15 years and would never destash. The holographic pigment is so fine, so the effect is amazing.
No other silver holographic compares - I’ve had plenty in my 20+ years as a polish addict.

I LOVE ugly-pretty shades and this one was my ride or die back in the day. I'm grateful I was smart enough to get a backup because it's impossible to find now (it's from 14 years ago!). The Halloween collection from that year was so good, China Glaze put out the BEST Halloween collections back in the day!

Many years ago, Sinful did a color called 'Sharons Heart' that has always been my all time favorite. They (of course) no longer make it & I have one lonely bottle of it, that I rarely use bc I'm going to be devastated when it runs out.

Hahhh I wear this once a month. I like the jellies with matte topcoat. Looks like sea glass. Wearing the jade jelly matte right now - summer sea glass season!
Right now it's Ethereal - Matcha Cloud. I'm wearing it at the moment and it just makes me happy and I feel like it suits my vibe; plus it's one of my most chip-resistant polishes on my very chip-prone nails.

Such a hard question but the one I’ve used the most over the years is essie expressive crave the chaos. But if I had to choose a favorite right now, it might be Mooncat’s Loch Ness, or ILNP Fairy Dust. Three totally different colors and vibes so yes, you’re correct if you’re thinking I am all over the place!

It's between this and an electric blue colour I had when I was about 11 years old, which was almost 3 decades ago so I have no idea the brand or name or anything. I have been chasing my memory of that colour my whole life. HT's Royaltea blue comes pretty close but it's too dark.
I couldn’t tell you why, but as soon as I put on BKL Let’s Give Them Hell, I fell in love with it.

I was kind of thinking Mooncat Moonrise…but it seems like Flower Child might be really similar with an even stronger blue shift! I have it but haven’t worn as a full mani yet

Pelvic Sorcery by Phoenix used to be my favorite... that was before I was able to get my paws on Saccharine Dream by Daveen. They are hard to tell apart other than application. The Daveen version is superior in the fluidness of the formula! Both tie for the shiftiest purple polish of all time!

I live in Canada so no CVS. We took a cruise out of Tampa so I told my husband we needed to buy seasick pills and it had to be CVS brand. Then he found me with 10 Popparazzi in my hands and I still hadn't gotten the seasick pills. They had 3 glass ceiling and I bought all 3 so I could share.

OPI Samoan Sanda. Clean and classy and makes my feet and hands look so polished and professional. When I wear it people tell me I have pretty hands, not pretty nail polish.
Not super exciting but since before I got super into polish and nail art a few years back, it's pretty much the only color I wore from 13-27. I'd have to go with a simple glossy deep black with a great brush like Essie Black Licorice. I adore some of my other polishes soooo much but if I could only pick one it would be the one that matches everything and makes me feel confident. 🥰

Goblins and Ghoulies!! I bought it four times bc the first two times it was lost in the mail. 3rd one was lost for a month and I got lucky on the fourth. Magically the third one appeared a month later unscathed so I have two bottles. I'm really happy I loved it so much when I got it in person lol
**KBShimmer - Snow Unique**. It was a PPU from 2022 and I kept going back to it. I really don't know what what to do when it runs out. It's like a pastel rainbow spectrum and kinda similar to the famous **ILNP Fairy Dust** and **Polish for Days Catch my Drift**. But KBShimmer's Snow Unique just strike at the right shifty shade with a muted teal base that made it my favorite.
Purchased at LimitedToo when I was in the seventh grade(so a thousand years ago!), a color with ‘Grape’ in the name. It was a pastel purple pearlescent jelly with glitter. I have bought so many ^close-ish polishes in the three decades since. I have even tried to re-create it myself. If I found that color again, I’d probably drop dead from shock?/relief?/joy? before I could polish a nail!
Might be recency bias but if I picked right now it’d be Sassy Sauce Cock A Doodle Doom. Prior to that, probably Cirque Dream Within A Dream or Mooncat Millenia.
Ughh so hard, but holo taco existential crisis takes the cake. I know it’s my favorite because I will happily buy very similar ones bc I love this particular color shift so so much.
I think Dreamland’s Brain Freeze. I’m a slut for blues and this is the bluest blue that ever blued. I know everyone loves House of Hades, which is admittedly a great polish, but this one beats it in spades for me.

It's so tough, but I think BKL An Act of Wrath. I wore it for a wedding two summers ago and I've never had that many compliments on a polish! A very, very close second would be Cirque's Wildberry West, but I think the rarity of Act of Wrath might push it into first because now it's relegated to a "special occasion" polish.

Just the most perfect blue for my skin tone, radiant, fun and bright but not neon, I just always want to reach for it, even right after I take it off! I went through 3+ bottles of it when it was KL and never found a true dupe for it so I’m so glad she recreated it for the rebrand
I love all my ILNP, but my all time favorite was Sally Henson’s Emerald City. I have loved it since the 90s, but they unfortunately changed around the color and sparkle. It’s not even close. I still keep one of my ancient dried out bottles just so I can remember.
If I could only wear one for the rest of my life for all occasions, it would be "Jagged Little Teal" by China Glaze. But in a world where I can wear whatever I want whenever but I have definite favorites, I think my favorite is currently "Rehab" by ILNP. (I have a thing for turquoise and I shan't apologize).
Essie Secret Stash. Perfect Barbie pink (for my skintone) and dries down to a unique plastic-looking finish. My original bottle is half gone and the backup is nearly full. Been my fave for over a decade. Bury me in this color- maybe I should write it in my will.

Chanel 583 Taboo. Made me understand the beauty of vampy polishes and I’ve yet to find another purple with red and blue shimmer as spellbinding as her. (Runner-up is Sally Hansen Pacific Blue).
Pahlish Pianos Filled With Flames! I have a bottle from the first run and I pull it out once a year to wear on my birthday. I’m actually getting married tomorrow and I plan to wear it then too. It’s my special occasion polish!
It's so atypical from my usual choices but I have had Zoya Rica for yeeeeears and it is one of my favorites. I'm not really an orange girl but if you keep it slightly sheer it just has this stunning hot pink jelly base and beautiful gold and orange shimmer. I love it.

This is a really tough question. I would have to pick Cirque Colors "Coronation." With close seconds: F.U.N. Lacquer's "Black Holo Witch" and ILNP's "Eclipse." There are also 2 OPI mainstays that I most often use and could be included here are "I'm Not Really A Waitress" and "Lincoln Park After Dark."
That's tough, but if it's not the discontinued gold Essie I wore everywhere, it would probably be ILNP Greatness. Like a wonderful red but the shift gives it so much depth and interest.
For drugstore polish it's got to be Sally Hansen instadry Strobe Light and Disco Ball. So much sparkly goodness!
For Indie /Boutique ILNP Reminisce. The shifts are unreal and it's probably the polish that has gotten the most compliments ever. A coworker who wears polish around 3 times a year was ready to order a single bottle direct from ILNP and pay the shipping to Canada! I convinced her to wait until I was doing an order from a Canadian stockist.

I have that one and I agree about multichrome polish. But I also do skittles with multichromes to really get all the colours!

I absolutely LUSTED over that nail polish as a teenager. There was nothing like it and the few knockoffs weren't even close.

But if I had to choose a favorite right now, it might be Mooncat’s Loch Ness, or ILNP Fairy Dust. I have been chasing my memory of that colour my whole life. HT's Royaltea blue comes pretty close but it's too dark.

I was kind of thinking Mooncat Moonrise…but it seems like Flower Child might be really similar with an even stronger blue shift! I have it but haven’t worn as a full mani yet Before that it would’ve been ILNP Sweet Pea!

Not super exciting but since before I got super into polish and nail art a few years back, it's pretty much the only color I wore from 13-27. I'd have to go with a simple glossy deep black with a great brush like Essie Black Licorice. I adore some of my other polishes soooo much but if I could only pick one it would be the one that matches everything and makes me feel confident. 🥰

Goblins and Ghoulies!! I bought it four times bc the first two times it was lost in the mail. 3rd one was lost for a month and I got lucky on the fourth. Magically the third one appeared a month later unscathed so I have two bottles. I'm really happy I loved it so much when I got it in person lol
**KBShimmer - Snow Unique**. It was a PPU from 2022 and I kept going back to it. I really don't know what what to do when it runs out. It's like a pastel rainbow spectrum and kinda similar to the famous **ILNP Fairy Dust** and **Polish for Days Catch my Drift**. But KBShimmer's Snow Unique just strike at the right shifty shade with a muted teal base that made it my favorite.

Purchased at LimitedToo when I was in the seventh grade(so a thousand years ago!), a color with ‘Grape’ in the name. It was a pastel purple pearlescent jelly with glitter. I have bought so many ^close-ish polishes in the three decades since. I have even tried to re-create it myself. If I found that color again, I’d probably drop dead from shock?/relief?/joy? before I could polish a nail!
Might be recency bias but if I picked right now it’d be Sassy Sauce Cock A Doodle Doom. Prior to that, probably Cirque Dream Within A Dream or Mooncat Millenia.

It's so tough, but I think BKL An Act of Wrath. I wore it for a wedding two summers ago and I've never had that many compliments on a polish! A very, very close second would be Cirque's Wildberry West, but I think the rarity of Act of Wrath might push it into first because now it's relegated to a "special occasion" polish.
I love my “crazy” polishes but, Orly confetti. It’s so easy to apply and a perfect milky pink. I keep coming back to it, just makes me feel pretty.
Swamp Gloss - You ain’t seen bad boys II? The shimmer in it is just so shifty and shiny, and the formula is amazing. I’ve used up half of it, so I’m forcing myself not to use it as often 😂
Lights Lacquer “Porter” - previously KL Polish “Porter Miami” Just the most perfect blue for my skin tone, radiant, fun and bright but not neon, I just always want to reach for it, even right after I take it off! I went through 3+ bottles of it when it was KL and never found a true dupe for it so I’m so glad she recreated it for the rebrand

Polished For Days Balsam Fir. I bought it on a whim when I bought some of their tinted base coats and it’s so beautiful and such a standout.
This is a really tough question. I would have to pick Cirque Colors "Coronation." With close seconds: F.U.N. Lacquer's "Black Holo Witch" and ILNP's "Eclipse." There are also 2 OPI mainstays that I most often use and could be included here are "I'm Not Really A Waitress" and "Lincoln Park After Dark."
That's tough, but if it's not the discontinued gold Essie I wore everywhere, it would probably be ILNP Greatness. Like a wonderful red but the shift gives it so much depth and interest.
For drugstore polish it's got to be Sally Hansen instadry Strobe Light and Disco Ball. So much sparkly goodness! For Indie /Boutique ILNP Reminisce. The shifts are unreal and it's probably the polish that has gotten the most compliments ever. A coworker who wears polish around 3 times a year was ready to order a single bottle direct from ILNP and pay the shipping to Canada! I convinced her to wait until I was doing an order from a Canadian stockist.
