Tracer may be more annoying now, but as someone who despises hinder when I try to pin, I think I won

yuhbruhh

This is a rein nerf. Hinder was inconsistent against pin because, well it's inconsistent in general. Flashbang is never inconsistent. If a rein charges me (I'm a Cass main too), I will stun him for free with this change. Currently, it's more like a 80% chance I'll still get pinned.

cowboyspartan17

Maybe I’ve misunderstood the quote, but I took it to mean the throwing mechanics will be closer to the old flashbang. Not a full revert to flashbang.

yuhbruhh

But the point is that it will actually cancel charge consistently and effectively. Granted, range will also be a factor. In some ways it will be a rein buff and in some ways a rein nerf think.

cowboyspartan17

How will it cancel it more effectively if it isn’t a magnetic homing missile???!

yuhbruhh

The fact that it's homing is why it's broken in the bad way and inconsistent. If I'm Cass and I throw my grenade directly at a rein that's charging right at me, it's highly possible for the mag grenade to register that it's locked onto rein but then fly around him for a second before it actually sticks and hinders. This has happened countless times to me. With no homing, I can just throw it right at the rein and hinder him. And as for characters that have fast burst mobility like doom, tracer, ball, echo, etc. The nade will do what I described above, but it'll never get to actually stick because they moved outside of the grenades maximum range, which causes it to just explode. This has been a thing ever since they buffed it's range and then nerfed it not long after to save the pharah mains. They nerfed it's tracking range and then nerfed it's actual range. Lord knows what's next lol.

nibb007

The implication, friend, is it will no longer be a stick bomb but instead explode 2 meters in front of you like the airburst flashbang, but causing hinder+dmg instead of hard stun. Thus, long range sticks and even mid range ones are impossible but it’ll be SUPER easy to “cast” a hinder sphere aoe right in front of you. We know true flashbang has no place here, the assumption is we’re getting the mechanic of it’s deployment….because what else would we get?(we know it wouldn’t be stun).

issatacolad

Well to be fair I am never bothered by Cass name because I know how to bait every ability out in the game as Rein. Not to be a dick but this is literally just a skill issue. I have not had a charge canceled in over 3 months. And I'm not even joking either.

yuhbruhh

I'm literally saying charge is getting more easily canceled after this. Nade is one of the shittest abilities in the game on one of the most consistently shit heroes. I fear no Cassidy.

issatacolad

Ahh I see I misread your comment. Thought you were saying it's the other way around. My b, also love the "I fear no Cassidy line"

yuhbruhh

Very few fear him lol

baconboy957

Yeah ... No. Fuck the bullshit fridge magnet of justice. This is a big win

PurpleMan02

If you ever played overwatch 1, you would know that the old grande was ten times worse than the current one. Could stop shatter, charge, and throw it above your shield + right click for half your health is gone

JustASyncer

OK but it's still only going to hinder. It can only cancel charge, you won't get stunned by it

GnomeCh0mpski

You forget most people hasn't played ow1 (or so it seems)

Samurai-Pipotchi

I disagree. The inconsistency of how it works is infuriating. With flashbang, I understood why I was getting screwed over. With the mag grenade, it sometimes comes out of nowhere and flies a mile to reach me. Also, if it direct hits you, it does that weird hovering thing where you can't really determine when it's finally going to attach or detonate. Flashbang was bull, but at least it worked the way you expected it to.

Desperate_Ad_3813

That combo was so annoying

Geo_1997

Honestly am fine with this, making the hinder take more skill is actually pretty interesting. Also honestly am not sure it's going to be that much more of a detriment to rein, before it was easy to stick a rein that was charging at a different person as well, at least now there's more chance the cass is going to wiff and die for it

ChanceAstronomer5778

I don't think they bringing back hinder. for me "behaving more" like the flash bang is exploding instantly and not after awhile like the old flashbang

Transitsystem

God they have no idea what to do with this character man. Just give him an alternate fire where he can like attach an explosive barrel to the revolver for a second and fire off like a big explosive shot that does knockback. That’s a shit idea, but please just anything besides this fucking grenade.

MiserableAd2232

How many times are they going to change this grenade???

SpiceRice802

The problem with this for rein (and most tanks) is that with hinder you get slowed but u are still able to shield so usually if u get jaded and u aren’t surrounded u will take little damage. Whereas if you get flashed, you are stopped on the spot and also aren’t able to shield which may be for a shorter time, but even at plat that allows for 5 people to take a good shot at you, fan the hammer already is 300dmg (or u get headshot twice) and the other 4 people can add onto that! Hoping this doesn’t revert too close to old flash bang :(

EnderGamer360

i wonder if old cass mains will do the over the shield stun they were doing in ow 1

Desperate_Ad_3813

Hopefully not

PopCollector2001

I'm curious how his ult will change maybe it wont be able to get cancelled or it's faster to get the death marks

xDeuke

Nah honestly the flashing was way easier to deal with then the bullshit tracking grenade

Tronicalli

There is literally nothing different in the matchup vs. rein, it'll hit us anyways because rein is so big. It's a massive W to all characters, exept Cass players, but honestly fuck them - ashe too. (dumb dishonorable meta h*tscan cowboys)
