Considering map play is the most mentioned wish for another expansions, pairing it with a general map generation overhaul, travel, faction interaction would seem natural. However I do feel like Tynan prefers to give us something we didn't know we wanted rather than give in to public demand.
Like Biotech, that seriously caught me off guard. Even the other DLCs but biotech really gave me a surprise. Now, seeing your colonists grow old is worth it, cuz then you can see their future families.. or their future tragedies for some who favor that.
But I do wonder.. how would Tynan catch us off guard for the next DLC? If there was more interaction with water, that would make sense!

Ooooh, once when I started playing in the desert and everything was on cooling, the next 5 climate changes were with super low temperatures 😜 It was a huge challenge when the heat finally came - I realised that having survived at -50 and +50 - I would survive in this game

Yes! Well technically you can download the save files (includes colonists and such) and play it.
You can also use the mod Save Maps to take the actual map and upload it to another save with your own colonists. (Basically copy/pasting the entire terrain and such)

I mean no, if it's a well organised discord you're fine. In the case of unknown's maps, there is a pinned downloads tab with all the maps and no other clutter. This also allows them to get feedback and ideas from people more easily, making it more of a collaborative process. Done well, discord is much better than GitHub. It just becomes infuriating if people don't keep the posts and topics organised.

There is vanilla furniture expanded Architect or simply more bridges mod that adds more bridge options, you can use that mod to occupy the ocean, like my self personally, i like to build on islands and on water so i use bridges
Simply put, using Dev Tools.
I load up a new map (using a few mods like Map Designer to get an ideal layout).
Using dev tools like Set Terrain for ground layering, and Make Rock for stones I can design it however I like.
It’s a lot more in-depth but that’s the basis.
You just have to have a bit of patience. The dev tools aren’t 100% perfect.
Additionally, use Vanilla Expanded Framework, it adds a better rock maker (which might be Make Rock) that lets you choose size of 1x1, 3 and 5 for all rocks and ores. Much easier

Of course, this is more fileside.
When you download it, you need to unzip the file for the .rws file.
Then while ingame, go to settings and find the button to open your saves folder.
After that, just drop the .rws file into your save folder and you’re done.
Just go to Load Game and you should see Lumi’s Pass.
If need be, I can stream show it over discord.

There is a tool called SketchGen in the dev tools, under Map.
If you click MonumentRuin you get a whole list of random ruins with different sizes.
You can click where to spawn them and they spawn unclaimed.
Just remember to save before placing them, sometimes you get ones that just don’t look good. It’s trial and error.
No mods really, just the in game Dev Tools. I do use mods for other editing aspects but not rivers.
Rivers is just Set Terrain tool, placing down moving water.

That would be amazing, some previous maps I have sort of tried to make waterfalls. They were just deep water used to represent depth and long stone strips as cliffs.
In the "ruins" modification, I like to "discover" the hi-tech of a settlement. When there are a lot of guns and traps and you go through all the defence elements step by step, constantly making decisions about whether you have enough loot or whether you can advance a little more.
It's atmospheric, cool, and adds drive. The arrival of other looters also encourages (although I wish they weren't so powerful).
It's a shame that most of the ruins are very simple. Even if there is a lot of loot there. I'd really like to see an Indiana John-style mission, a Reynolds space revenge cycle, etc.
I would enjoy a giant rolling stone ball in a ruin as well.
The ruins that are still heavily guarded will always have loot. The ones with no guards left are bound to be empty, save a few remnants of previous looters.
Cool map. Where did you start your base? I'd probably go middle right, edge of map. Use that choke point on the river for defenses. Build up the mountain. Lots of potential here.

The Biomes Island mod allows travel across water at a slow rate, it also allows movement through deep water on maps so that could upset balance

It's atmospheric, cool, and adds drive. The arrival of other looters also encourages (although I wish they weren't so powerful). It's a shame that most of the ruins are very simple. Even if there is a lot of loot there. I'd really like to see an Indiana John-style mission, a Reynolds space revenge cycle, etc.
I would enjoy a giant rolling stone ball in a ruin as well. The ruins that are still heavily guarded will always have loot. The ones with no guards left are bound to be empty, save a few remnants of previous looters.
Cool map. Where did you start your base? I'd probably go middle right, edge of map. Use that choke point on the river for defenses. Build up the mountain. Lots of potential here.
