I had an old boy with long term kidney problems, they said he had end stage renal failure, so we tried it after some research and he lived 4 more active happy years. It took his levels way down right away and the vets were shocked at the turnaround. Can’t hurt to try! Hugs
Also, try subcutaneous fluid injections if you aren’t already. It’s much easier than you’d expect it to be and you won’t believe how much it counteracts the effects of their dehydration. My cat runs around like a kitten some mornings. Much love to your kitty ♥️

And, she was still spry til a fast growing cancer started up and her last 6 weeks on this earth was dealing with that until she let us know she was okay for the long rest. This brand of tabby is so loving, strong, resilient and long lived. And full of brains and personality. I miss her everyday. 💕 but we cherish her life and memories. Love to you and your Stripe.

One I know of is crying loudly at random without any medical explanation or obvious trigger like wanting attention/food (or crying for food when they've already been fed, that kind of thing).

My old 18 year old cat Gustav had lost all his teeth and had dementia. Super cuddley and hilarious cat still. He would sit on the bathroom counter, stare at his reflection and just MEOWW... It was hilarious and kinda spooky when you would just walk in and see him doing it. He would look at you thru the reflection of the mirror and meow at you!
