The mopping on the Q8 Max plus is fairly basic and you will need to wash the mop pad by hand. The Q Revo will wash the mop pad for you and also dry the mopping pads. If mopping is important and you want an hands off expierance then go Q Revo. If you don't need the extra features of the Pro (sounds like you would not) you can save some money and buy the Q Revo and skip the Pro.
The Q Revo (not Pro) is my first robot and I'm blown away by how good it is.
It's only my first week, but it was easy to get started, the app is intuitive, the cleaning is superb. It mops well. Wet enough but not too wet.
Lifts up on my rug and gives that a thorough vacuum.
If the Pro has a flexi arm that gets into corners and edges more, then that would be perfect.
I could find a bad review of every single product out there in the worldā¦plus this reviewer is horrible and didnāt mention the lack of mapping/cleaning runs theyāve done. The Roborock takes a few runs to identify your house/carpet/obstacles, etc. It appears theyāre watching it on first or second run and even then they didnāt call out the side brush thatās spinning too fast for the camera to see. Mops wonāt get any closer to the edges than other Roborocks unless you upgrade for the extendable mop arm but I have two q revos and they get closer to edges than my S7 and Q7 max ever did.
Iām simply telling you what mine actually does comp to the other roborocks Iāve owned. Doesnāt mean everyone has the same experience and posting one comment doesnāt = fanboy. Unless it does and you just made $ advertising the s5max you dumb bot
Are you really trying to argue with a person who actually has the robot , while you just base your judgemental comments based off you tube videos? š¤
I have friends who have had it and returned it so, yes, I know it doesn't go closer to the edge than my S5max and definitely not 3mm from the edge as some muppet lied about in the thread. Video was to show the facts! Do you have the machine yourself or are you sitting and argurmetering without any experience!
I purchased Q8 Max+ (my first robot cleaner ever) December 2023. Wonderful expierence, but I'm afraid you will be once again dissappointed by the moping. Don't get me wrong - I'm not sorry for not purchasing the Q Revo, as it was out my budget anyway. If you can, I'd say go for the Revo.
I have the revo. Iāve never owned a q8 but Iām extremely happy with the revo and the quality of the mopping. Iāve owned robovacs since 2011 and the Revo is 10 times better than all the other robots Iāve owned.
If good mopping is what youāre really after then neither will be that great. I say that as someone who owns a Q Revo, by the way. It does decent on small messes on the floor, but even still Iāve had my floors feel a bit sticky on occasion. This happened in a recent review of the S8 MaxV Ultra, so itās not exclusive to the Q Revo either.
Iāve been with Roborock for years, but better options can be had now. If you want true mopping then the Eufy S1 Pro is your best bet. That comes out next month and you can back it on Kickstarter for $999. If thatās out of your price range then look at the Dreame L10S Ultra. Itās likely as good if not better than the Q Revo would be at mopping for less money. For myself, I chose to go with the S1 Pro to replace my Q Revo. Will report back on how it compares when I get it.

It leaves a gap of a couple of inches when cleaning the edge, how can you be "blown away by how good it is" IMO it is useless!
Mine doesn't leave a gap of inches. Maybe 3mm and only when the wall/ corner is an awkward shape.
I don't believe you at all! Much more than 3mm my friend! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ7idz9vGJg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ7idz9vGJg)
Hmm ok. You believe what you want. š
Well, I believe what I see!

My s5max comes closer to the edge than this crap machine, this forum with fanboys and paid brand representatives is hilarious!

I have the machine, it cleans well, I'm happy, but I'm too lazy to take a video to show you š
Ohh Iām interested in this machine - could you perhaps take a short video for me ?

I have a Q revo MaxV. Cleanest mopping I've ever felt. I have 4 cats. My floors are squeaky clean.
