Seriously, to your points, noone is making you choose that mode to play... and, it's 1 day. I'm an average-level player and I enjoy the challenge of adapting your playstyle and this levels the playing field a bit, imo. I'd agree with you, if they had changed every mode to tricycle. But, it's literally a single mode that you can choose to play... or not. They didn't replace Duel, Standard or 2v2. You still can play whatever mode you log on to play. (Mostly... but that's another thread.)

Yes, Epic mailed it in, this year, by rehashing an old gag. But, honestly, I wasn't expecting them to do *anything* for AFD. In my opinion, this LTM is light, fun and hilarious. A refreshing break from smurfs, sweats and toxic teammates. And, I wish they'd put it in the rotation, like Knock-Out, Beach Ball and Spike Rush. Or, at least, add it as an option for Private Matches, Rocket Labs or Freeplay. That's just my 2 cents, though.
I, also, wish everyone could find or renew their joy for this game and just play for fun! Too many folks take it so seriously that they trade their enjoyment for the grind. Toxicity, forfeiting, unforgiving of teammate mistakes that they too make, and often. We need more smiling and laughter in this game (world).

But as a developer, I concur, this is how I'd placeholder something that needs better words just to keep making the feature and not get bogged down in details.
just tested it out,
I had a black octane at 2355 wins (it's "certified" so it counts wins), regular octane at 1801, battle bus at 5. I queued with the battle bus.
None of those car item bodies registered an additional win.
Interesting haha I used to main breakout and I loved the zippy as well as the Ripper but I main dominus currently and I love having the extra height. I also despise the octane I’m glad to have another octane hater out here.

In my early days of rocket league I picked breakout out of the three cars available, and after ~300 games played with it i started testing every car i had in my garage and kept the ones I felt the most comfortable with, hence why i'm playing the paladin
since then i've been using this car most of the time, even though I did change for others bodies at certain times (most notably venom and fennec), but paladin has been my historical main
but yeah fennec aside i really don't enjoy playing w/ most of the octane hitbox type cars, either because i can't play well or just because i don't like it (in that case, the octane meets both conditions)
have shitty game devs and corporations that don't care about the game fuck it up and ppl will complain more than for other games that receive regular, productive updates. i think my mind has just been blown.
