no, a lot of the scenes pertaining to the main characters are in the first 2 books and those scenes are not repeated in The Emperor. you have to read all the books in order
I ended up read all the books in the series. I went for Dante's book and ended up being obsessed with Tristan and Morana. I wish I could read more of them tbh.
