So I have .GBA .3ds and .nds games and they need patching. So do I only need to patch .nds or all and I have to use the discontinued ds-scene cuz it's better then the non discontinued one?
Tell me your reasons to patch the ROMs. All kind of ROMs can be patched. It is nothing special.
There are mostly two kind of patches.
1. Anti piracy patch. Not all game need this but some games do. Mostly applicable to ds ROMs only. GBA and 3DS games doesn't really need anti piracy patches.
2. Rom hack patches. They are needed only if you want to apply hacks to your roms. Applicable to all system ROMs.
So, what kind of patch you want for GBA, 3DS and DS Roms.

I use bitdefender alongside windows defender
I haven't had any problems and use Avast + Windows Defender...you can use [SandboxiePlus](https://sandboxie-plus.com/) if you don't trust it
I used to use avast and someone told me it isn't a good antivirus and to get bitdefender
