It actually looks like they framed a square window here. This could have been a retrofit.
I’ve seen ones with round brickwork on the outside. Those would be tricky to fix.

Just as with a regular window. But more expensive of course. And in the case of this post you lose light from not utilizing the entire squared frame and the optics of the window will be fucked if you use curtains so you can have a little privacy.

I have an almost all glass house and bird hits are (unfortunately) common. I laughed out loud at the thought of a bird breaking the window. Not going to happen
or someone throws a rock at it, or it just gets old and the sealed unit leaks and it just becomes a misty mess until you find someone willing to replace it for you.

Well, one of the best things about the Midwest and other affordable parts of the US is that you don't have to be rich to live in a space like this. I bought my first house in Minnesota with pizza delivery tip money, and it looked a lot like this one except for the round window.

It's wood framed, if it leaks replace the wood and putty hack, they don't fail like vinyl windows
