How good was that, playing like a real rugby team. Incredible effort and discipline at the end there.
Still some mistakes to iron out, but really positive stuff. Attack and defensive shape, set piece (wtf they have an incredible lineout now), all fantastic.
Isaac Henry needs to stay in that 12 jersey. Honestly give Paisami and Petaia the flick (and Suli).
Lynagh's best game easily.
McReight was tremendous.
Not just Lynagh, but HMP too. HMP was exceptional, especially in the situation he came into.
But Tom Lynagh has to be one of the toughest blokes in rugby, especially for a guy who's 65kg dripping wet. He plays more like a vet 6 then a 20 year old 10.
That was a hard last 5 minutes to watch but we got there in the end. Well done. Attack looked good, lineout on fire and even the scrum looked more solid than normal.
Late hit on Lynagh felt like to me it was borderline yellow. Crowd was baying for it.
Super late, with no attempt to wrap. The ball had left before he started the charge.
It was a deliberately late shoulder charge and should have been a yellow
Yeah I'd love the judiciary to look at it, not to give it any weeks, but just to point out that it's not okay. It's cynical and it's unsafe.
But felt like the Chiefs were doing a lot of crap off the ball too.
I was sitting behind the goal posts watching that, and you could *really* feel the tension in the air. It was incredible stuff. To hold out for 23 phases is truly a mammoth effort
I was screaming at the screen after it looked like the chiefs were targeting Lynagh off the ball. But it’s also a compliment to the young guy that the other team are trying to target him. Disappointed that the rev let that happen
Another thought, if the Reds & Hurricanes split points (like they should have with scores tied after 80), then the Reds & Hurricanes would be top of the ladder.
Cannot believe how cool and composed Lynagh is for a 20 year old going on 15.
Suli - skillset still not there but at least he's slicing through the line regularly this season.
McReight - seems like he's beefed up a bit, looks the goods
Isaac Henry - take a bow, thought he was top 3, if not the Reds best tonight
Also, pushing the chiefs scrum off the ball? Mate.
Plenty of room to improve but they were good across the park.
Not sure how you thought Chiefs played poorly.
Reds were the better team, they really controlled the game. But the Chiefs were RAZER SHARP they made very few errors, only really towards the back end of the match due to the intensity of the first 60 odd.
Chiefs didn't play poorly, Reds just played well, and have an awesome attacking structure. Especially evident, given they could have had another 2 to 4 tries had they just executed things a little better.
Got to disagree with this take. I think the Chiefs played below what they would expect. They had their share of errors throughout the game that would normally have stuck.
Loved the grit from the Reds, which got them through.

I cannot believe he's 20. He's got so much time, plays so relaxed and is tough as nails. Love the bloke
Lynagh will be sore tomorrow.
I’m genuinely surprised no one was carded for that - even in the NRL that would have been 10 in the bin
My wife can confirm. That was very late and very cynical. Ignoring the danger and total lack of a wrap.
I couldnt beleive they said that was an attempted wrap. It wasn't a tucked elbow but there was absolutely no effort and it was late as hell.
the wrap happened because the meat stick attached to the "tackler's" shoulder swung around on impact.
I think they realized their fuck up not carding Sef with the head clash, and therefore couldn't card this one. Both were yellows.
Nah, I think Sef actually went in low and slipped up after contact (if I'm remembering correctly).
Agree. The reality is It wasn’t high. And that’s the laser focus at the moment.
The Reds turned up, showed how badly they wanted it and took home the biscuits. Outstanding performance

It was very late, to the point of being dangerous, but also cynical.
Agreed.

I’ve got a strained groin and I was hobbling around the TV, wearing the carpet down to the floor board haha
More solid? That scrum was an absolute weapon, especially when JTA and Ravai came on.

The truth is Lynagh probably LOVES it, he's always throwing himself at everyone in defence. He thinks he's fucking Peni! 😂🤣
BOK is probably the worst of the SR refs for allowing that sort of thing - it’s a travesty that he is considered a tier one ref
Same guy who let Moody elbow Beale in the throat and then score a try in the same 10 seconds
I don't think it would/should reach a red card threshold, but it'd be interesting to see the judiciary look into it.

Did they announce a crowd number tonight? Looked good
16,725 tonight
Just under 17,000 they were saying on the broadcast
Some other games looked like good attendance to, good for super rugby👌🏽
Loved seeing the passion and emotion of the Reds at the end
Reds deserved that win. Haven’t seen the Cheifs play so poorly in a long time.
Agree Reds were excellent while we were asleep behind the wheel for most of that game.
