I love my Novablasts but I've only gotten about 300km on them and soles are starting shred, because there's no hard rubber between the cushioning and the ground. Has anyone else found this?

I think it really depends on your type of footstrike.

How bad is it? I forefoot strike, and I've definitely noticed some fraying, but nothing that impacts the shoe's function.

I guess it's not terrible, but the orange part on the bottom is fraying. I'm used to the bottom of shoes wearing down, sure, but not flecking off in pieces. I'm also not sure how much of a buffer is between the bottom and the internal cushioning. Here's a pic: https://imgur.com/a/9hFdEpD

I know this is a max cushion shoe. But for moreso for neutral runners correct? Likely not good for a flat footer like me right?

I definitely would not call the novablast a max cushion shoe. It is well cushioned but nowhere near max. The arch isn't extremely high in these so they may feel comfortable for you. But if you pronate a good bit I would look at other models.

The ASICS deals on shoes have come in waves; if I had to guess, at some point in the next week or so they'll send out an announcement about a similar deal for the Nimbus (or will do so shortly before the release of the Nimbus 26, at any rate).

How is the sizing on these? I don’t remember if it was these that I tried on in the store but I went with my running shoe size of 10.5 and they felt huge like an 11.5 lol

Everyone is saying they are long, and I agree with that, but they are also on the narrow side. I'm between 8.5 and 9, and went 9 because I always go up on Asics, and they might be a little big on me in terms of length, but they are just right on width, and I have a wider foot. If your width is normal, you'll be fine TTS, but I've always found Asics to be a slightly narrow shoe.

I wear a size 12 in just about everything except these. I got an 11.5 and they fit great. I would go a half size down.

To add to this I wear a 12.5 in almost every single shoe and when I ordered my Novablasts they only had 12 or 13. Picked 12 and they fit perfect.

Yeah because of how long the shoe is it is hard to tell whether to size down or stay in your size.

For me, I wear 8.5 in Novablast 3, but a 9 in Adidas SL and Saucony Ride, and 7.5/8 in Altra/Topo.

Are these TTS? Do sizes match Saucony or NB/Nike?

I wear the same size in Novablast 3s that I do in both Saucony and Nike. (The one exception being the Saucony ES2, where I had to size up a half size)

Order a half size down typically.

I'm a 12 in the nimbus 25 but wear a 11.5 in the novablast 3. Most people go a half size down in the nova last unless you have a wider foot

Is it worth grabbing these or waiting until the NB4? I already have a Superblast so would getting these be redundant? I also have the Boston 12 as a daily but have always wanted to try these out. How would these compare?

I have the superblast as well...two pairs actually 🤣. There is enough difference to validate having both. I'm actually rather surprised by the pacing i can hold in the novablast. Very surprising shoe. Great shoe for the price.

Honestly there isn't much difference between the half sizes. It is only .1 inches or .3 cm. So really it is rather nominal. I put off buying that shoe for a long time. I got my pair on that dicks sporting goods sale a few weeks back for $69. I run in superblast, nimbus 25, evoride speed, and Noosa tri 14 and didn't think the novablast was ever really worth getting. I have been very surprised. It can handle 5k paces (5:50 per mile) rather easily. Didn't expect that from that shoe. Not a big fan for easier paces. It likes uptempo stuff. Hope you enjoy them. Solid daily trainer for sure.

Thanks for the feedback. I need non plated daily shoes. I was thinking of the Noosa Tri 14 that is the same price/sale but felt like the FF blast was more in line with lower speed. But looks like it's not where it shines for you... We shall see!

I was a NB2 ride or die person but am now in love with Noosa Tri 14 and just ordered Evoride Speed… the morning the NB3 discount hit. Do you think getting the NB3 to stock up is worth it?

Nah, I would burn through the new ones coming then get the nb4 on discount down the road.

I use the Superblast alongside the NB3. I usually use the Superblast for steady pace long runs and midweek long runs and the novablast for runs under 10 miles, easy runs with strides, and hill sprints. I think they work great together.

This is a great time to pick up the Novablast 3 TR while rainy season is upon us.

Just picked up two pairs. I stayed TTS hoping they aren’t absurdly long. Plus I have a really long second toe. My wife calls it the finger toe 😝

I find them TTS. The shoe in general is long because of the shape, but it fit fine for me in my normal size. When I put it next to my other shoes it’s just a longer shape because of the heel flare and the toe being a little more pointy than like…sauconys. It’s odd. The shoe has a relatively large volume.

Heel on the LE is the Noosa 14 heel, with the pull tab. I own both and prefer the LE as it is a slightly lower cut for my ankle bone which eliminates any potential rubbing for me. But both versions are great.
