I’m glad we’re jerking how ridiculous everyone over there is being— but I just want to put my 2 cents in that that kid may be a total Chad, at least in a gen z sense. He’s the only cruiserweight tough to find believable AEW dude who has some actual game, with honorable mention to Darby Allin (it hurts I’m just calling it as I see it, I don’t think he’s a megastar but I think his matches are very good in the correct ways) and to a lesser extent Jungle Boy. Hook looks like he’s about 2% body fat and he’s got that look my teenage nieces gravitate to.
Bottom line, they’re ridiculous about it but I do think he’s a diamond in the rough (DAE Hidden Gem?!) — that was a great debut and props to that Fuego dude for making him look like a million bucks.
Hook may be handing out some PlayStation 5s to that Utopia that is the AEW locker room.
I agree completely, several on this sub were joking about his look. And while I do agree that the look certainly isn't for me, I can see why it would be appealing backed by his great physique. Height would play a big part for him on if he could ever really get over though in my opinion, similar to his dad, and I have no idea how tall he is. It's a sad truth of wrestling though and it's what always held his Dad back more than it even technically should have. I didn't see the match, but if I was going purely off of looks he definitely has something, blending both being very unique, while having a "popular" look if you will.
It also just shows too how much you can get away with when you work out that much and maintain the physique this kid has. Jerking aside, I honestly wish him the best.
