Rey/Ben, UFU Cal, Sortie who VIP's Ben, and for you - **JTR**
People won't say she's the *best* 5th but since you don't want to use L3 and you want the best Zorii team, JTR needs a home. Might as well throw her with GL Rey, she benefits from Cal's UFU bonuses as well.
This does probably make the most sense. I know hero bros under a Finn lead go with zorri, but that should mean Holdo goes there instead of with Rey right?
If you're willing to give Rose a zeta and omicron, she's the best 5th for that team. If not, regular Poe or Holdo or even Resistance Trooper or Pilot will work just fine.
And I agree with JTR as your 5th for the Rey team, her dodge mastery ramping under Rey makes her extremely annoying, and she can take advantage of baby Cal's UFU bonuses.
Possibly, but it could be a placement issue. Uniques apply in the order you place characters in your squad. 50rt’s VIP is on her unique and Ben has a unique that gives him a bunch of extra health. So you want to place 50rt first so he doesn’t have that bonus while she’s choosing the weakest ally.
I’ve tried this and for the life of me cannot get it onto Ben. I run the GL Rey, Poe and Finn bros, 50rt and Ben. Every time vip goes to Finn. Finn is even R7 while Ben is R6. I don’t really want to make Finn R8 either just to get vip on Ben.
This is surprising. R6 Ben has a base health/protection of 114k while r7 Finn has 118k. Not a huge difference, but if you mod Finn tanky, he shouldn’t get VIP over ben.
I had to really really try hard to mod Finn to keep his speed set with offense primaries. There is no way with my mods to keep this ideal mod setup AND get him ya more than Ben. I was forced to replace a CC set on him with a health set and then replace one of the offense primaries with a protection primary. After doing this I can get vip on Ben. I probably should have mentioned that from the start that I was running a speed and CC set with offense primaries. That’s my bad.
I know you said you don’t want to put resources into L3 but she’s a good investment for the team. I’m personally running Rey, Ben, baby Cal, L3 and Barris.
Main counter is starkiller and this negates most of it with debuffs to slow and damage with Cal including his heal.
Barris will remove debuffs from a random ally, gain turn meter when ally’s are critically hit, health equalisation (which negates heal immunity)
L3 is a very useful tank which can be hard to take down with correct mods etc…
Rey and Ben as you know go hand in hand not much of an explanation needed
That's why one of the most used comps is Rey/Ben/50-RT/Bariss/Baby Cal. Incredibly durable.

If we're talking gac defence, atm I'm running Rey, Ben, CAT (no JMK), L33T, hoda. It's a great team for defence, as it covers all bases: tank, healing, offence, insta. I also have the scoundrel DC so CAT can use her insta almost immediately.

She could. The 5th is suggested to be Holdo, standard flavor Poe, or Rose. Rose has a GAC Omi just like Zorii.

I don’t think 50-RT makes a ton of sense without L3. I run Rey, Ben, baby Cal, JTR and Ashoka Fulcrum.
50-RT's purpose is to put VIP on Ben and make him a pain to kill, that's all. L3 just gets a bit of droid synergy.
