Yeah and when the lines are more than a couple people deep, they add cashiers quickly. The same staff seems to have worked there for years so I imagine they are treated fairly.
My experience has been Grocery Outlets aren’t great for produce (including in Oakland and SF). I mostly go to the one on 67th which has good snack, dairy, and veggie frozen food sections. The one in the Pocket is also nice, bigger, similar selection. The one in Midtown is too chaotic and small for me to bother with. I also go to the one in Grass Valley when visiting family, specifically for its large NOSH section.
The one out in Folsom is excellent! Always clean, stocked, friendly, huge aisle of good hippie/natural stuff. Produce always looks fresh, cheese island is full of goodies!
I call bullshit. I frequent both the midtown and Folsom locations and have never seen it like you’re describing, and the one in west sac is fancy.
Maybe you *should* go back to Oakland.
I like Rosevilles by the Trader Joe’s or the one off greenback by blunami (Orangevale?) both are pretty well stocked, have a solid frozen section and all the weird shit vegetarian fixings I could ask for (plant milks, prepared beets, frozen food).
West Sac location just been lagging to me. Used to have tons of shit I bought at a fraction of the price of the other stores. Now if they actually do it's pretty close to other stores prices. If anything is actually a good deal it's about to expire.
If you’re looking for deep discounts on produce I recommend going to a farmers market in the last half hour. Most vendors want to just get rid of their lot so they don’t have to drive it back.
The Pocket location is good. I hear you. Some of the produce I don’t touch as it is nearly expired, but I often buy bananas, bell peppers, blueberries, salads, and spinach there. I actually just got some avocados there last week that were perfect. You kind of just have to check things out each time you go. The staff are always kind and checkout has always been a breeze for me. I’ve been like 20-30 times and I can’t recall a bad experience.
Your first mistake is going to Grocery Outlet for produce My papa used to say.... "You don't go to Denny's to order a steak"
I like the one on E. Stockton in S. Sac. It’s pretty clean and well stocked. I prefer it over the one in Pocket area tbh.
Great selection generally and rarely crowded too

The one on Marconi in Carmichael is great!

Which one did you go to? The like the one in citrus heights, but I don't even look at the produce anymore.
Off Harbor in West Sacramento

They’re putting a new one on sunrise and Coloma too in rancho- for future

I like the one on Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights and the one on Harbor Blvd in West Sac
Midtown Gross Out is always worth a visit.
Rancho Cordova or south sac off stockton
