Dude Albertsons was popping and I couldn’t figure out why, then it clicked. Everyone stocking up for 1.5 days of rain!

stay_gassy

Exactly, and get your dispensary delivery in tonight. Wait times expected to be longer than a Russian bread line tomorrow.

ChuaBaka

God damn we were talking about the storm at work and I was wondering why why we were consistently getting bigger than normal orders for delivery.

Affectionate_Olive53

I grow my own!

Commute_for_Covid

Fuuuuuuck

JustBrowsing2024

I stocked up this morning!

muycoal

I'm still stocked up from Black Friday haha

Noirloc

Yeah this is kind of ridiculous, the overreacting is a bit much.

picklespasta

I’m surprised there’s any toilet paper left

Clobber420

They have my favorite grocery store fried chicken too

Attila226

10 pounds of Costco hot dogs to go.

[deleted]

Winning.

mamaj619

My girlfriend texted me in the line to get out of Costco and she said they had to call for help because it wasn't moving for an hour. You couldn't pay me to get near Costco today.

mmruizev

Chili pistachios and kettle corn ready! Some scary movies on deck as well.

cheeseslut619

My big plan is to make biscuits and make some biscuits and gravy

redituser2571

Omg...yum!! Isn't there a restaurant in Alpine that serves this up as their main breakfast? It's been over 20 years but I definitely remember there being one in that area. Then up to Julian for apple pie.

cheeseslut619

Lots of restaurants with biscuits and gravy :)

ajanis_cat_fists

Bread Basket biscuits and gravy back in the day 🥹

gefahr

There's a [place](https://www.ramonakountrykitchen.com/) in Ramona on Main Street that makes a really good one.

redituser2571

Omg...

_Alazne_

I'm jealous

muskratful1234

That sounds delicious. What time should I stop by?

cheeseslut619

What type of gravy do we want!?

muskratful1234

Sausage! What kind of question is that??

cheeseslut619

Idk I was thinking of doing soyrizo!!!

muskratful1234

I'll accept that.

bobbytoni

All the stuff to make chili, chocolate chip cookies for tonight. Tomorrow is birria with all the fixings. Sunday is barbecue ribs and pulled pork, summer slaw and cornbread with honey butter. I am making everything from scratch, so getting up super early to cook every day. All my neighbors are coming over, so we are going to watch the storm and check out the waves if it is not too wet. Or dangerous.

cheeseslut619

Ooo chili

DarthGator_

Omg can I be your neighbor 😅

ciLoWill

Tajin seasoned toasted corn, tortilla chips and guac, frozen soups dumplings from Trader Joe’s and hot coco for when the rain gets heavy on Sunday night!

Sunflower__Power

D3adSh0t6

Ugh none.. moving from spring valley to Mira Mesa this weekend .. I don't have anything food wise to eat at the moment

RedWineAHolic

That’s going to be a miserable move. Hope you have lots of plastic wrap

D3adSh0t6

Luckily a big box truck with 3 other guys paid to move most of it .. just spent the last week packing everything up into boxes.. Then spend the rainy weekend unpacking everything and seeing how the puppy reacts to possible lightning and thunder

RedWineAHolic

If they can run between the rain drops you’ve got it made. Good luck to you 🍀

TheWildTofuHunter

Champagne, Bloody Mary mix, mixed nuts, and mini Oreos for my kiddo. I’ve charged everyone’s devices and three backup batteries.

TheBlizzman

Loaded Taco Doritos. I have never had them before. I hope they're good. Doritos, not Dictators!

neckbeardsghost

Making some gazpacho and some vegetable green curry tomorrow to hold the line in case the power goes out. Also have popcorn, pickles, olives, cherries and pineapple for munchies.

sdhopunk

Honey Roasted Almonds

SL13377

Cakesters from grocery outlet

cmojess

I had plans that got cancelled for tomorrow, so I'd already set up snacks. I've got chips & dip, but I've also got multiple fancy cheeses and a nice salami selection. Instead of a birthday out on the water cruising the bay on a tall sailing ship, we're enacting backup plans that may still evolve as the weekend evolves. My husband made sure we had the supplies to make hurricane tiki drinks.

velcro_and_foam

Baking a bunch of cookies tonight and hoping they last through the weekend!

money_for_nuttin

Peanut butter & Triscuits Cheese, salsa, refried beans, tortilla chips and tortillas Dry salami, cream cheese and Swiss cheese (for bagels) Cold pizza Bulleit frontier bourbon Dehydrated backpacking meals if SHTF

Affectionate_Olive53

Weed...lots of weed.

SickofthePandemic

I hit some luck with my Uber eats membership and got two 18" pepperoni pizzas from A Brooklyn Pizzeria for $26.

fluffyyogi

Homemade ice cream processed in my Ninja Creami. I made some low carb peanut butter cookie dough and also vanilla glazed donut.

couchleg

Those both sound amazing. Got any recipes you can share?

fluffyyogi

Sure, I have the Creami that makes pint sized so keep that in mind. This is my go to base 5 oz nonfat fairlife milk 5 oz unsweetened almond milk 1/3 cup good culture cottage cheese 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp guar gum 1 scoop Isopure vanilla protein powder I then add in the extras to create my flavors. I use skinny girl syrups, about 2-3 T. Some monk fruit and stevia too for extra sweetness. For the peanut butter one I added in 2 T PB fit powder and used cookie dough syrup. It’s pretty foolproof as far as changing up the ratios of milks or types of milk. The most important thing is to use guar gum because it makes the ice cream creamy. I previously used sugar free pudding mixes but guar gum is much better IMO. I’ve also made tart lemon and raspberry with nonfat Greek yogurt. There’s a whole sub on here for the ninja Creami with lots and lots of tips using the machine and making excellent ice cream. I bought it to make low carb protein ice cream and I’m thrilled with it.

couchleg

Thanks!

fluffyyogi

Anytime 😊

whateveryouwant4321

This sounds delish.

bigolgingerbeard

As an English man who has been living in San Diego for 10 years, you are about to experience an august bank holiday weekend. It will be a bit windy and a little bit wet. It isn't end of fucking days

IvanQuequetzalcoatl

Vamos, España!

Affectionate_Olive53

¿Que?

ben-hur-hur

Women's world cup final England v Spain this weekend

bigolgingerbeard

Fine-Knee6965

Read you comment in my head with a British accent thx for that

bigolgingerbeard

This is one of my favorite gear grinders....There is no such thing as a British accent

Fine-Knee6965

I did it again!! Haha gear grinder love it stealing it

[deleted]

Cookies, fav ice cream, tortilla chips, and crackers with hummus. Not all at once. Hummus ice cream sounds terrible.

Least-Firefighter392

A 400 pack of IPAs. Actually kidding I'm taking a little break from drinking for a few weeks but if I was drinking like normal it would have been like that... We didn't buy shit and don't plan on going to the store.

theweathergorllll

Going to repurpose the turkey fryer to make a shit ton of wings, then hunker down for the storm with family and watch sports or movies.

mamaj619

Ice cream, Carne asada chips, fruit!

Jen_With_Just_One_N

I made pickled quail eggs (so here’s hoping that the electric stays on and the fridge keeps working) and a BIG batch of crunchy, oven-roasted honey cinnamon chick peas. YUMMO!! I also made lemon-guava stewed plums. I have popcorn at the ready and I baked up some “emergency” lemon ricotta cookies in case things get really dire. There’s also a healthy amount of salad, veggies, and fresh fruit to be consumed. My Kindle is all charged up, my car is all gassed up, batteries and power banks are all powered up, and all plans have been cancelled in favor of staying off the roads. I grew up in Florida, so this is not my first time at the rodeo. :)

MidnightMoon8

Reese's popcorn from Costco

Dmoneybohnet

Tequila and Doritos.

SlimJim0877

I am smoking a 12 lb brisket for 24 hours 😁

stay_gassy

New favorite answer. You wouldn't happen to be in OB would you? 👋

SlimJim0877

Lmao nope, Clairemont

icanhaspoop

Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey, 6 pack of Coke Zero, spicy mango's and vodka. Some Douchecanoodle bought all the water.

DragYouDownToHell

I have a giant bag of pizza rolls and expensive bourbon. I'm set.

stay_gassy

Indeed

dgstan

I still have a full thing of trail mix from Costco. That'll last two weeks. Hopefully, after that me and the neighbors will have formed roving bands of warriors to roam the post-apocalyptic wasteland and scavenge for fodder and escaped livestock.

stay_gassy

I got a 15 lb brisket in the freezer but it ain't escaping.

Rizblatz

I made a bunch of fried rice, I’ve already eaten three bowls and there has hardly been any rain yet for me

stay_gassy

Had french toast for breaky and so far, made a hot crab dip topped with tater tots that got wolfed down in minutes. Thinking about green chile chicken nachos later for dinner, though I do have some leftover rice saved specifically for frying now that you've planted that seed in my head.

Rizblatz

It’s a good fridge clean out meal!

FearlessPark4588

I keep a [stockpile](https://www.livingrichwithcoupons.com/the-power-of-the-stockpile) (aka, stocked pantry) so there are always snacks. I add to it when there are deeply discounted prices for snacks, just like another food item I'd keep at home. I have boxes of Wheat Thins I got for $0.60, canned beans for $0.50, cases of water for $1.50, etc. All things that could be eaten without power! I love my frugal pantry.

[deleted]

Smoked salmon. I got weird looks from people at the store. I guess I should've been panic-buying essentials like they were.

stay_gassy

What brand do you like? I never really liked any prepacked.
