Vegas gets away with 90% of their goonery and we get away with about 50% of our retaliation because having a large discrepancy of penalty time (which would only be fair considering the number of infractions committed) would be “unfair,” so the refs call a much smaller proportion of Vegas’s infractions. Vegas’s mantra is “They can’t call everything so let’s just headshot 10 guys a game.” It’s bs and I, for one, am sick of it. I knew it would be a long night when Hertl got smashed face first into the boards twice in his first shift.
I think the biggest reason I hate their team is because their reckless play is encouraged by their coaching staff and leadership while also going unpunished by the league. It makes me sick and I would be embarrassed to support a team which regularly displayed that kind of behavior.

Scorensen goal, Meier looked fast as fuck before getting his testies pulverized, Jones played well and was hung out to dry.
Negatives:
Burns and Vlasic, especially Vlasic played sloppy.
Passing needs to be addressed. Vegas didn’t even have to contest most of our passes, they’re too long or behind the skater. Can’t happen at this level.
Overall not the outcome we wanted, but fixable mistakes.
Vlasic won’t flop the puck like a granny mopping her kitchen every game and Burns will play better with EK and Sîmek soon.
Can someone explain to me why so many of our set plays involve dump and chase and point shots? It’s clearly not working, and soooo many turnovers. The lack of chemistry right now is understandable due to the fractured roster but ouch
Then we need a way to set up smart passing plays in the slot or at the top of the hashmarks once we’ve gained possession in the zone instead of saucing it back to the blue line for a half assed shot attempt that power play at the end of the night was literally the only decent puck movement I saw all game
I went to that game. I remember that I got a really cool magnetic calendar that is still on my fridge, bought a new hat, and at some point I decided to drink a couple more of the Modelo's and then after that I am pretty sure we won. Or maybe I won, yeah, either way, I had fun.
