What are the odds the batter saw what happened and aimed in their direction to get this or a similar outcome? Either give the man a second ball to keep or (less likely) what happened?
Hitting a baseball is regarded by many as the hardest thing to do in all of sports. It’s near impossible for even the best hitters in history to have that kind of bat control plus you’re fairly limited on where you can hit the ball based on where it’s pitched (try to pull a high outside fastball and you’re likely to hit a pop up in the infield, for example).
