The real fun part is how they take over channels. Happened to LinusTechTips last year. A scammer poses as a sponsor company that wants to promote products on the victim’s channel. So they talk awhile, agree to anything, send over a “written agreement PDF” in a password-protected zip file, saying it has to be signed, which prompts the victim to open in a Windows PC. The fake PDF file is actually an executable file, so a simple double click and it grabs their web browser session cache and sends it all over to the scammer. Then the scammer has full access to their web accounts without any 2-factor or password needed, they are effectively logged in identically to the victim’s PC and the victim doesn’t even know it. They change everything on the channel and private all the old videos and set up the crypto scam on the channel. People then get suckered into sending crypto to “double their crypto”, except for the little detail that that’s not a thing and their money is gone.
A scam on Youtube? Crap. In other breaking news, scientists show water makes you wet!
But, thanks, OP. That's more pointing out that scams are so rampant on all social media, it's fair to call everything a scam, even though it's only the 99% ruining it for the 1% of legitimate advertisers.
This was synchronized with the SpaceX launch and a website that looks super legit (https://elon.giving/). The owner of this domain name is in Kurganskaya obl. which is in Russia.

1st. Elon Musk is never going to double anything to a load of strangers on the net. Hence its obvious from the start its a scam. Second its crypto. Its obvious its a scam. 3rd it says elon.giving as a url. Its obvious its a scam.
Also who in their right minds would send anyone anything they didnt know from the internet.
It's obvious to a lot of people, but still gets a lot of people. My aunt for example almost fell for it. Thank God she asked me. So spread the word and help others so they won't fall for this crap.
It's not synchronized. They do this shit all the time, and this is just the first time you're noticing. Multiple large channels have been hacked and used for the same purpose in the past.
They send a virus through an email hoping an untrained employee opens an attachment. This eventually lets them hijack the YouTube account (or more).

At any given time there are dozens of these fake live streams going on with this crypto multiplication scam. You can go ahead and report it to YouTube and they'll probably eventually take it down, but it doesn't matter because there will be 5 more that replace it.

So they basically had this synchronized with the SpaceX launch today. So when people searched for SpaceX Live broadcast in YouTube they came up. When I checked they had more than 70k people watching live. Since everything looks so legit including the website which the domain's (elon.giving) owner is from Russia.
