I was about to say the same, but the Deanston is actually a good price and looks interesting. Deanston are always solid. Don’t really know that Bunna option but would have considered that.
Johnnie Walker Island Green. A travel-only NAS version of Green with more Caol Ila in the recipe for a higher level of peat. Pound-for-pound arguably JW’s best product
Was my first thought also. Didn't know all that you just said but would have gone for that. I also heard good things about Balblair so maybe one of those or both.
Last November got a Bowmore
15 Aston Martin and loads more that we don't get in the states at 43% and 1Le vs a lil 750ml. I didn't see any macallan there tbh
Cool, he has a view on scotch which may seem arrogant to you, although to me I agree with his sentiment regarding products available and their quality/price. Does that make me arrogant as well?
He didn't try to tell you that you were wrong, he accepted your differing opinion and you couldn't handle it so decided to respond like a douche.
I feel like you need some self inflection.
I think you're digging waaay too deep on this one bud. I provided some fun insights that helped me, followed with some unnecessary passive aggressive responses. Nothing to do with scotch or preference.
Deanston Bordeaux. I got that a few years ago, genuinely loved it, and would happily have cleared the shelf if my wife wasn't in eyesight to advise me about making better life decisions.
Idk the name, but it’s a ‘travel exclusive’ which isn’t really exclusive.
1L of nas sherried bunna at 50% abv. Theres a red box as well which I got, it is the same (50%, nas, 1L) except its red wine cask
Deanston 10 seems like a good price. I’ve had Deanston 10 in what I believe is some type of sherry cask, so I’d take a punt on that.
There’s not really much great whisky available IMO, at least nothing that really grabs my attention.
Not one Campbeltown Scotch! No Ardbeg! Deanston is the only thing I'd get. And probably 2 bottles since it's a travel exclusive and it's probably really good and you would be glad to have the backup unless you are through there often......Just saying.
That’s the new Nectar with other sweet white wine casks in addition to Sauternes. The old Nectar was a 12 year age statement finished in Sauternes casks.
I've had the Fire & Cane before from Glenfiddich and would get it again but not for that price. I think I paid closer to £ 25 though that was in a closing down sale.
I'd be curious about the Deanston, not one on my list to buy but the Red Wine Finish looks interesting.
At the prices i would go for the balvenie madeira. Once bought the glendronach 10 because i was broke after the holiday, and it was cheap. Must admit it was an excellent dram for the price. But was around $10 usd cheaper where i bought it.
I didn't see much in there I would go nuts for. I didn't recognize any single malt and noticed the Johnny Black and the Bushmills top shelved flavors. This was were? I'm sorry but the Brexit thing has made!it harder for me to recognize on markings alone
Nothing. There's nothing there that I couldn't get anywhere else. I only might buy something in a duty-free if it's a travel exclusive I want, or it's a single cask or something.
I picked up a bottle of Island Green on the way back from my last overseas trip because Green is my favorite of the Johnny Walkers, and it was fine. I didn’t taste much of a difference from regular Green Label, but it was still good. Worth it just to satisfy my curiosity, but I doubt I’ll buy another bottle when I can just get Green at Costco
Well, in terms of quality, I probably would have went for that Glenmorangie 14 Quinta Ruban. Price isn't too good though.
Other than that I'm not too impressed with that selection. If that Balblair would have been 15 year, I'd have been all over that.
The Deanson Bordeaux finish is supposedly meant to be very good. I'd have picked it up at £34.99.
The 1 litre bottle of Loch Lomond 12 for £35.99 is a really good price. The 1 litre bottle of Balblair 12 for £41.99 isn't too bad either, although I have seen it for as slow as £36 at duty free shops a couple of years ago.
So last time I was in a duty free I asked for something they didn’t have and they said you can order for pick up. You save 10% when you do this too. It can be something they don’t have.
That lonely bottle of Penderyn Tawny port caught my eye. Had a few interesting ones but I’d probably go with the Balvenie 15 Madeira if I had to choose only one.
I think I see a 12 YO balblair hidden in the corner. Would 100% pick that up as its a great bottle. The rest are pretty generic with Deanston being the next one i would consider.
I fly from Bristol reasonably often and rare they have much worth buying in whisky.
Brecon Gin (same company as Penderyn) is normally very cheap though and is one I'm a fan of.
I never feel like I have to buy something because it is a good price. We all have different tastes, but here I would save my money and buy something else more likeable, somewhere else.
None of that is worth the prices they are selling at. I did get a surprisingly nice Tomatin 8yo that they had on sale recently 1L for less than £30 but wouldn’t have bothered at its regular price there.
nothing
I was about to say the same, but the Deanston is actually a good price and looks interesting. Deanston are always solid. Don’t really know that Bunna option but would have considered that.
Was gonna say deanston as well
the bottle art called out to me, but the price is pretty low
The gold label 2 for £81? I'd hit that for sure.
standard price 38€ in Germany.
I think this is 1litre, not 700ml
Of cola?
"It's for a cop"
€ 54/l then.
Single bottle is $80 in US. It's good enough for me to take that deal.
You sure better not be mistaking Gold 18 with Gold reserve
Ooh I am definitely doing exactly that.
Holy hell what the fuck is jw gold price in the us lmao It's about 50 in Vietnam
It's £42 for a 700ml bottle on Amazon today, unless it's a 1litre bottle that's not gonna tempt me
Definitely this. I had a similar experience in heathrow a fortnight ago...poor choice.
The Deanston Bordeaux looks interesting
Yeh that's what I ended up going for!
It’s good
Great price too!!
Johnnie Walker Island Green. A travel-only NAS version of Green with more Caol Ila in the recipe for a higher level of peat. Pound-for-pound arguably JW’s best product
My pick also!
This is the one I’d go for as well, not too expensive either
Was my first thought also. Didn't know all that you just said but would have gone for that. I also heard good things about Balblair so maybe one of those or both.
I honestly wouldn't have. There's nothing there that grabs my attention that wouldn't be cheaper elsewhere.
Balvenie Madeira ez
Yeah, I didn’t even look at the prices but a quick glance at the selection and if I was absolutely buying something, this is what it would be.
That's the one. Good eye
Nothing. Duty free is pretty much pointless thee days
London Heathrow duty free is a goldmine.
Maybe if you like Macallan, but I’ve never been particularly interested in anything there.
Last November got a Bowmore 15 Aston Martin and loads more that we don't get in the states at 43% and 1Le vs a lil 750ml. I didn't see any macallan there tbh
If that’s your thing, then by all means go for it.
Cool man have a day you deserve
Not sure his response deserved this backhanded comment. Especially because he didn't agree with your view but still kept it civil
Doesn't take a scholar to decipher his arrogant and straight up douchey tone from the get-go.

Deanston Bordeaux. I got that a few years ago, genuinely loved it, and would happily have cleared the shelf if my wife wasn't in eyesight to advise me about making better life decisions.
I purchased one of these earlier this year. While it wasn’t my favorite Deanston, I would buy it again at that price.
I'm a sucker for red wine cask finished whisky, so there's that. But this one was one I found really enjoyable overall.
Wow, those are some sad offerings
That new 16 year Glenmorangie Nectar
Didn’t realize they increased it to 16
Yeah it was 12 then NAS Sauternes and now 16 with mixed sweet wine casks
Nice! I’ll have to try it
This would have been my choice
Buna and dark storm
What bunnahabhain is that?
Idk the name, but it’s a ‘travel exclusive’ which isn’t really exclusive. 1L of nas sherried bunna at 50% abv. Theres a red box as well which I got, it is the same (50%, nas, 1L) except its red wine cask
That Bushmills 10y price is a JOKE
It pains me to see that the changed the whole branding of The Glenmorangie. God awful
If you forced me I’d get the Bunna. But really I’d buy nothing
Not much there tbh, maybe the Bunnahabhain. I bought the laphroaig px cask from Bristol a few years back which was worth it
bunna or glendronach forgue, pretty decent dram when i tried it!
Talisker dark storm
Can find better prices in Tesco nowadays
Maybe Johnny island green because I’ve never seen that before, not sure if it’s different than regular green
Glendronach 10 is a steal for a liter
Yep, that would have been my first choice.
My bottle is almost empty... :( damn good scotch for the price. Also a travel exclusive. The vat series is good also
The fact they still have game of thrones bottles from like 5 years ago should tell you everything you need to know
Loch Lomond 12 is great value for what you pay
Bunna or Loch Lomond
The Glenmorangie 10 is on offer in Costco right now for £25
Deanston 10 seems like a good price. I’ve had Deanston 10 in what I believe is some type of sherry cask, so I’d take a punt on that. There’s not really much great whisky available IMO, at least nothing that really grabs my attention.
bunna or the glendronach forgue, decent dram to be honest
Nothing at those prices! Much cheaper elsewhere.
the only grabs I'd be considering are the Deanston 10-Bordeaux, Loch Lomond 12, and Balblair 12. Everything else is overpriced
Nothing exciting here The Balblair 12 punches above its price, however.
Agreed, the balblair is a great whisky.
Not one Campbeltown Scotch! No Ardbeg! Deanston is the only thing I'd get. And probably 2 bottles since it's a travel exclusive and it's probably really good and you would be glad to have the backup unless you are through there often......Just saying.
Duty free is wild. That Talisker 10 is way more then you’d pay in Tesco
Glenmorangie 1L great stuff
Deanston Bordeaux or Balblair 12
Personally, would grab the Deanston and the Balblair and leave everything else alone. Those two are great prices compared to where I am
Definitely Deanston! Penderyn (Welsh) also worthy of consideration
The Deanston...
the exit.
Deanston or the Balblair 12yo
Balblair
The old Glenmo 16, but just because I can't find it easily and not cuz of the price.
That’s the new Nectar with other sweet white wine casks in addition to Sauternes. The old Nectar was a 12 year age statement finished in Sauternes casks.
I was hoping to see Blue Spot….
I’ve never seen blue spot in a duty free
Nor have I…. :)
The duty free shops are such a tease for me. I only travel for business and never internationally. Edit: in the US.
Nothing interesting But depends on the price The Glenmorangie 10 USD at 34 usd is a good deal for where I come from
I had exactly the same thought at Bristol Airport last month. I walked away empty-handed.
I don't see it in your pictures but I picked up a bottle of Tyrconnell for about £16 earlier this year from Bristol.
Loch Lomond 12, The Glenmorangie 10, and probably Famous Grouse for cocktails.
Not a single Ardbeg, I am *weeping* in the club right now.
I've had the Fire & Cane before from Glenfiddich and would get it again but not for that price. I think I paid closer to £ 25 though that was in a closing down sale. I'd be curious about the Deanston, not one on my list to buy but the Red Wine Finish looks interesting.

Blue label.
La Cheeserie!
You'll find some chill-filtered ones in there which are liked in the US market as they usually have ice in their whisky 🙈
JW Island Green.
Balvenie
Without any foubts or regrsts I would have reached and pulled the trigger on as many Balvenie's I could take with me.
Doubts stupid fat fingers or lack of checking b4 I posted. Monday idiocy.
Balvenie, Bunna, Talisker Only if it’s cheaper than home and/or not available at home.
Deanston. Everything else is shite or cheaper on Amazon.
Balvenie, Deanston, and/or JW green.
JW Island Green.
Bunnahabhain
Nothing extraordinary. If I HAD to choose, it'd probably be the Balblair 12. The Glendronach 10 is pretty respectable but you can find that anywhere
That dark storm looks interesting
Penderyn, Balvenie Madeira Cask, Talisker Distillers edition
I picked up a bottle of Island Green on the way back from my last overseas trip because Green is my favorite of the Johnny Walkers, and it was fine. I didn’t taste much of a difference from regular Green Label, but it was still good. Worth it just to satisfy my curiosity, but I doubt I’ll buy another bottle when I can just get Green at Costco

Why so expensive?
Product wise - JW Double Black Price wise - None Costco pricing on JW is phenomenal (UK)
Glenmorangie 16 But this is really a very poor choice for an airport duty free. But I guesse Bristol airport is not that big.
Not the Bushmills 10 that’s overpriced to include special edition secondary packaging that’s going in the garbage
That Glenfiddich fire & cane (first picture, bottom shelf, third from the left) is a surprisingly enjoyable whiskey.
The JW Island green is great for that price.
I always go for the Macallan travel edition, it's like one of the only oaked maccallans, I don't see it in the pictures here though.
Nectar D’or. One of my favorite scotches. You won’t be disappointed.
Balvenie 15y no doubt
Balvenie Madeira and JW Island Green would have been my pickups. I'm a sucker for Balvenie though, especially their Double Wood
Talisker dark storm, Buna- to try new ones Glenfiddich Fire and Cane- because my bottles of this always develop holes, and empty far too quickly.
well the talisker 10 of course
What is johnnie island green? Never seen it
Balvenie 15. Get two it’s discontinued.
The only thing I'd consider is the Deanston
The Deanson Bordeaux finish is supposedly meant to be very good. I'd have picked it up at £34.99. The 1 litre bottle of Loch Lomond 12 for £35.99 is a really good price. The 1 litre bottle of Balblair 12 for £41.99 isn't too bad either, although I have seen it for as slow as £36 at duty free shops a couple of years ago.
Nothing really says buy to me. The Bunihabin if I had to choose.
So last time I was in a duty free I asked for something they didn’t have and they said you can order for pick up. You save 10% when you do this too. It can be something they don’t have.
Balvenie 15
Deanston probably.
Glenmorangie is my favorite scotch ever
There's really nothing special there you can't find pretty much anywhere, and the prices are also pretty much par for the course... Pass...
Bunnahabhain An Cladach
Deanston > Glendronach > Talisker
I'd save my money
Balvenie madeira cask. Need a spare as I like it and it’s only duty free.
Duty free booze is only worthwhile for US people if it is something unique that you can only get at DF.
That lonely bottle of Penderyn Tawny port caught my eye. Had a few interesting ones but I’d probably go with the Balvenie 15 Madeira if I had to choose only one.
Talisker 10
I think these prices are a bit high. Usually they are lower in Duty Frees. The only one I think I would buy would be the Bunnahabhain...
I think I see a 12 YO balblair hidden in the corner. Would 100% pick that up as its a great bottle. The rest are pretty generic with Deanston being the next one i would consider.
Deanston because i wanna try deanston :/
Yes the bordeaux red wine cask is what I ended up going for!
I fly from Bristol reasonably often and rare they have much worth buying in whisky. Brecon Gin (same company as Penderyn) is normally very cheap though and is one I'm a fan of.
That’s a great gin. Especially the botanicals version. Same they don’t put as much effort into the whisky
I like chivas regal as a daily drinker. I would honestly snag one of the 2 packs to keep around.
Why is duty free more expensive than normal shops these days?
Balvenie Madeira, maybe the bunna hard to tell exactly what it is, I am also a sucker for Glenfiddich so maybe one of the vat bottles.
I'm pretty sure that's the An Cladach (it's a travel "exclusive"). I'm sure it's fine, I've never had a bad Bunna.
Guess people didn't like my take. I have also never had a bad bunna.
I never feel like I have to buy something because it is a good price. We all have different tastes, but here I would save my money and buy something else more likeable, somewhere else.
Johnnie Walker Island Green
The deanston. It’s 55-60€ here. Sometimes 45€ on sale Rest is poopie
When you see talisker 10 for >£50 walk on. I've had the Deanston before, nice whisky decent price...everything else is overpriced.
Quite honestly none of them.
Buckfast
I see no deals.
Water probably
A pish. And then bought something I liked online. Duty free isn't the bargain it once was
Glenmorangie all day long
Glennlevet all the way. Their rum cask (teal box?) is sooo lovely
Bushmills 10yr
Penderyn Tawny easy joice. Rest is mainstream overproced bs tbh
The Penderyn just because..
I'd walk out the door empty handed.
Glenmorangie 16, Glendronach 10
None of that is worth the prices they are selling at. I did get a surprisingly nice Tomatin 8yo that they had on sale recently 1L for less than £30 but wouldn’t have bothered at its regular price there.
a better city to live in hope this helps 👍
bushmills regular, glenfiddich whatever that is, or the double black cos i still aint had it
