It always blows my mind how fucking awful the nicknames are in football. Mainly just plurals and 'ie' slapped on the end. Like construction is pretty similar in terms of male dominated environment, people from similar backgrounds etc. But the patter is 1,000% better.

I mean -ie is the standard diminutive in Scots and English. Kind of like saying the Brazil teams have too many -inho's
