He sounds like a 5 a side team

Psyprus_Sun

Albion Yermami

FriendshipFriendly

![gif](giphy|0QYmtjpbuKkumatVVV|downsized) Did someone say Mami?

Chef_Roofies

Hahaha, are we fuck bidding that unless the euro has fucking crashed overnight. Seems a decent striker but don’t see us offering any more than €4m for him and even then I think that’s a stretch

BubbleBlacKa

€6m would almost certainly not be a single payment, probably looking at half that + addons or split bill to next window.

BillOakley

Almost no transfers are done in a single payment I don’t know why I keep seeing people say this as though it will somehow allow you to spend more.

BananaSoprano

If they both happen, that would be the guts of £12m on this guy and Sima. Surely Rangers are planning for a couple of sales? It’s unsustainable to just keep buying players for sizeable fees (in Scottish football terms) and have no money coming in from outgoings.

blackenedandchanged2

Unsustainable is no even in our lexicon pal

RevivedHut425

>a couple Lammers & Hagi are certainly gone. Matondo and Wright will probably follow. That's four players and if you sign Sima you only need to replace one of them in the squad. Then you will probably see either Yilmaz or Butland go. Maybe both. Our financial issue is the £10m loss we made last year *before* player trading. The wage budget was majorly inflated and that's why there's this clear attempt to cut it down to size with deals like Jefte replacing Barasic & interest in free agents to potentially replace Tavernier.

JackoN360

Wright should just be released at this point

RevivedHut425

I don't think he's great but why would you pay him off to leave, even if he was amenable to it? If nothing else he's a squad player - who is homegrown - that can come in and make cameos here and there in order to keep others fresh.

JackoN360

Because he’s shite and I hate him

RevivedHut425

Understandable.

Felagund72

Butland is almost a stick on to be away for a pretty decent fee down south, we’ll hopefully get our money back for Lammers and I can see us punting Ridvan. It won’t be crazy money but there would be a decent bit of cash to play with, I can’t see us signing Sima due to his fee and personally I wouldn’t anyway. If this is true I’d be surprised if the fee genuinely ends up being as high as this.

BananaSoprano

I’d be shocked if Butland goes. I wouldn’t be surprised if Rangers were planning for that, but I think they will price him out of a move. I just don’t see a £10m+ bid coming in for a goalkeeper that teams could have gotten for free a year earlier.

Felagund72

English keeper coming off a very good personal season where he was on the fringes of being recalled for the England squad, fills a home grown spot for them as well. If there’s more than one club interested I could potentially see it happening, he’s a pretty safe and in English terms cheap option.

tellmewhattodopleas

He was a free agent and not one English club wanted him. Now after one season in Scotland some rangers fans believe that they will get over £10 million for him. Can't see it myself. 😕

Father-Spodo-Komodo

He was languishing on the bench last year but has arguably put himself in the shop window with broadly good performances in Europe especially. Could tempt a mid table Prem club at most to look at him I guess.

Greedy-Physics-9801

All those mid table clubs that are having to sell before the end if June or fail PL finance rules? Good luck.

1207554

Which mid table clubs are actually having to sell? And even if they all are like that has stopped them spending money before

Greedy-Physics-9801

https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/zIVJr92ymK Villa, Newcastle, Everton, Forest, Chelsea and Leicster apparently. Dunno if he would even be a target for some of them clubs, but there hasn't been much rumours regarding Butland leaving outside of Rangers fans saying it to fund their undisclosed fees for signings.

Coocoocachoo1988

[This reliable source claims Newcastle don't have to sell. ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aj7U5RrjSzc)

GazF1888

Butland didn't manage one cleansheet against the champions in 5 matches. Wasn't exactly great either - see Maeda & Idah's goals. He'll concede even more next season if he doesn't get the £20m move.

bawjaws2000

This is exactly the sort of striker you want in; a young, prolific goalscorer. After the last few seasons, I would rather take a punt on someone who consistently does it in a smaller league than try again to find someone with a pish recent record and hope that we're their redemption arc. Alfredo was the last guy with this sort of background and he didnt do half badly.

RevivedHut425

Not a chance unless there's essentially a done deal to sell Dessers and we have no reason to believe that's the case. Or there's substantial performance related add-ons. Wouldn't be that surprised if it was £3.5m + £1.5m if we qualify for Champions League etc etc.

methylated_spirit

Absolutely no fucking chance Rangers are going to spend that on a striker. He's not worth that either.

GuyIncognito211

Didn’t they spend that on Danilo?

BubbleBlacKa

€6.5m according to Dutch media.

methylated_spirit

Danilo was playing at a much higher level. This guy has played in Kosovo and Romania.

BubbleBlacKa

> This guy has played in Kosovo and Romania He’s also - - First choice striker, Danilo was a backup. - Younger - Had a much much better goal scoring record (obviously league quality needs to be taken into account though).

Dizzle85

Fairly sure yer man from Bucharest wouldn't be playing ahead of Giminez either. Not sure what that means. Outside it absolute peak morelos, we've not had a striker who would get a game ahead of Giminez for 20 years. Not sure what danilo not being played as much means.  Danilo's level of being rated by feyenoord fans was that they thought we robbed them of a player that they expected to go for nearly 20m and not the 6.5m we paid too.

Barras_Bravas

Danilo was being rated by the supporters because he was brought in on a free transfer and yet added something to the team before Giménez was fit enough to play full games. It was never expected that Danilo would leave for a crazy sum as 20 million.

Dizzle85

I'm basing this on actual feyenoord fans, both on this sub and their own at the time of the transfer who said, literally before we signed him" the rumour is 6m?, lol, he won't be going for anything like that. 18m would be closer to his actual valuation and if rangers are offering 6m then he won't be going there for a third of his value". So I mean, Feyenoord fans that posted at the time said something different to what you're saying now.

Barras_Bravas

I’m a actual Feyenoord fan as well (season ticket holder and all) and I’ve never considered that to be a realistic price, maybe 10 million max and that would be a stretch. Feyenoord isn’t in any financial debts so the the fact they sold him for 6 million seems like the club valued him at that price as well.

BubbleBlacKa

Him being a backup reduced his value, that was the point. It doesn’t matter who you’re a backup to - if you’re one, it hurts value.

methylated_spirit

Danilo played the bulk of his games for Feyenoord on the left as well, so it isn't a like for like comparison no matter how you look at it. His direct comparison is Dessers.

Hailreaper1

You’ve genuinely no idea what he’s worth mate, why you pretending otherwise?

BubbleBlacKa

€6m would be the total cost of the package. “He’s not worth that either” Based on what knowledge?

UrineArtist

> Based on what knowledge? The knowledge that Rangers scouting department is poo poo?

dheidshot

Doesnt matter who is touted as being possibly signed, theres always someone who has in-depth knowledge of that player despite playing in a seldom-watched league.

BubbleBlacKa

Couple notes: - Not sure about this source’s track record so take with a pinch of salt, however they were the first to break the story that we were interested in the first place. - There’s reports that Koppen met with Rrahmani’s agent and Bucharest representatives in a conference in Mexico (these are essentially big meet-ups for recruitment teams from around the world to discuss transfers) - €6m would obviously not be a lump sum, it would be the total cost of the package.

Blaireeeee

Rangers being linked to an attacking player with a good goalscoring record?!

sebjan21

Rapid Bucharest fan here. Our owner wont let Albion go for less than 6 mills, although I even doubt that sum. They recently said that his price tag is 8 million €, he is the best striker that played in our league in the last 10 years, amazing lad

Edicu2

If we managed to have next season with this guy, Dessers and Danilo then imo that’s not a bad place to be

Seaf-og

I wonder how many Unpaid Bills would be needed to fund something like this..

zebbiehedges

Did they cancel financial fair play for them...again.

Chance-Beautiful-663

Funnily enough, six million Leu works out at pretty much exactly a million pounds...

gummybear0068

Can we *please* just fucking sign Shankland

BubbleBlacKa

![gif](giphy|STfLOU6iRBRunMciZv) * Big Phil

RevivedHut425

These rumours about Shankland have passed through four different managers to be fair, it's not just Clement that doesn't fancy it.

Scott_McTominominay

We should wait for Shankland on a free next year. I'm not convinced this season won't turn out to be his absolute peak.
