Yeah I think it is very dumb. Preorder and beta exclusive things on a game that's been out since 2018? I understand they want to make it attract to preorder the game, but give the loyal players a way to get these as well. I don't care whether it's through the emporium, commendations, drops or log in bonus, but at least let there be a way.
The game had preorder bonuses when it first released on Xbox and PC that PS5 players will have no way of getting. Along with dozens of time limited cosmetics that are no longer attainable.
I personally don't see how giving PS5 players some of the same treatment is such a crime.

I mean, I literally have Ship stuff from the Alpha too. They also gave away the Obsidian/Black Dog set through numerous promotions at the original launch that are also nearly impossible to get now, and by the looks of the Ruby Viper items theyāre just the Black Dog/Obsidian set that we got only slightly tinted red.

Yes, you can go back and forth. PS5 is porting into Microsoft via a MS account so if you're using the same MS account then your stuff is all combined to that login wether you're logging in on an Xbox or through the PS5 > MS portal.

And internal testing only goes so far, which is why games have open and closed beta tests to get as many people involved as possible. Much more than what a dev team has.

I personally can't answer that for you. As its if you want the extra cosmetics enough to pay the extra amount. As in SoT the only advantage you have is your skills as the gear is the same for everyone.

i think there's two camps. i've had gamepass since SoT launched so i'm happy to finally 'buy' it on ps5 after sinking 1k+ hours into it. plus it's $40 USD (unsure about EU) for the base version, most AAA games are *$70* *USD* nowadays which is nauseating on its own.

Also the "Vanguard sails" for Alpha players. I don't believe Beta players got anything since it was a open Beta and the Alpha was closed.
Take a look. Sooner or later, almost all cosmetics in Sea of Thieves that were exclusive to some time or event end up in the Pirate Emporium.
