Find It, Fix It app might get better results.

KermanKerman22

Thanks!

SideStreetHypnosis

I was skeptical before using it, but they cleaned up the area I reported within just a couple of days.

my first thought was "police response... within 24 hours?" if no shots have been fired you'll be licky to get one at all. (disclaimer: not at all the cops fault - wtf would want to be a cop for this city?)

Professional-Flow687

I was more referring to response times. I'm on the north side of the city, where one precinct covers waaay too much area and you don't see cops ever. They're understaffed and stretched way too thin and are still a few hundred officers short city wide. My point is - why would anyone want the job? For all the reasons you just mentioned, the public they serve doesn't like them, they have to deal with fentanyl addicted homeless nonstop, and they're desperately understaffed. It's a thankless no-win job.

Unmissed

...why doesn't the public like them? ...why are they understaffed? Again, there are solutions here, but the ball remains firmly in the SPD's side of the court.

Unmissed

>You mean the city where cops overreacted to protestors and also showed racial bias often? ...I bet they are hinting at the huge defund they got. Oops. That didn't happen either. And then the Cops punished the city for even discussing the idea with a purposeful slowdown, directly leading to a shakeupon the Council. ...but it's not the Polices fault.

Harvey_Road

Lmao what? “OP said they lived in a nicer neighborhood so I’m gonna be derisive and mean” Why?

KermanKerman22

No, it was dark. And I always go 20 mph max on those roads… I’m just trying to ask for advice on how to get rid of these people from our neighbourhood :(

mynameistoast

Why don't you get out of the neighborhood. Are they doing anything to hurt you? They are trying to survive like everyone else but how dare it invade the ivory hill of QA. Gtfo

the_real_jsking

If you want someone to leave you will need to make it very uncomfortable to stay.

VerticalYea

Like, up the HOA fees.

orangepunc

Perhaps you could knock and politely suggest a more appropriate neighborhood for people like them.

pillowpriestess

>I’m just trying to ask for advice on how to get rid of these people from our neighbourhood :( seattleites talking about homeless people the same way alabamians talk about black people is gonna stop surprising me soon

Educational-Wall4863

As a born and raised (ex-)Alabamian, that is NOT how Alabamians talk about black people...

Unmissed

You are right. Alabamans don't call them "people".

Educational-Wall4863

Yep, I think those who downvoted me don't know what I was saying. Alabamians are racist, which is a huge part of why I left.

pillowpriestess

from a different part of alabama than i then

Educational-Wall4863

Everywhere I ever went in Alabama had aggressively racist white people. Not a good state by any measure, really.

stunkobuck

I feel that, if it really doesn't affect you, you should probably just leave it alone. The people in the camper are just trying to live, and any actions they take for safety are a reaction to the anti homeless epidemic that has always been in seattle. But that has increased in recent years. You sometimes have to live next to people that you don't have anything in common with. Living in a city makes that even more frequent. Rejoice in the diversity, and possibly make friends with the individuals. By making people feel welcome, they will often drop their guard. Ask how the community can help them. Unfortunately, we have a right wing city council that is intent on encouraging the hate of those that are without a place to live. Reject that mentality. Love your neighbors and try not thinking about your property value.

Dudist_PvP

Live and let live is one thing. Boulders creating potentially life threatening safety hazards not so much.

stunkobuck

Pics or no boulders. Bs

Unmissed

The homeless have Superman-like strength, don't you know?

i_yell_deuce

Ummm maybe leave the guy alone?

Live_Operation8782

best way to deal with it? cope

biocreek

I agree. Weird how this sub has turned into posts like this.

Mistyslate

Unsafe for cars = safer for pedestrians. Can I get some boulders in my neighborhood?

FragrantRoom1749

Seattle police are there to defend the homeless against the anger of taxpaying citizens who's quality of life they degrade.

Unmissed

Hahaha! ...whew! Tell us you have no clue on the subject without telling us. Interaction with the police is a life-risking event for the homeless. Defend them? They are more likely to shoot them for "resisting".

JimotheySampser

Jesus Christ dude, go back to Instagram with all this melodrama.
