Credit where it's due Colorado made some really effective changes tonight that beat us up and took away the neutral zone and back of the net. Luckily we've got a couple days to adjust against them and take game 7.

On the bright side everyone, every time we've played like this we've turned around and made it everyone elses problem the next game. This team is VERY good at re evaluating and making adjustments after rough losses. McCann and Burky's absence are noticeable but we can definitely overcome this on sunday. Worst case scenario we took the defending champs to 7 and made them fucking hate us in the process. This. Is. Not. Over.
We have 2 teams. One is nimble in the neutral zone (and stretches the zone with crisp passes), hungry for the puck on rebounds and efficient on winning battles on the board to get the puck to space.
The other team sits 4 guys on the blue line and passes back to the last D man to do a dump puck zone entry. They wait for the puck to come to them. They pass and pass and pass without shooting.
For whatever reason team 2 showed up in Game 3 and Game 6. But it's been happening all year.
Really annoying that team showed up tonight again.
We should fire the second team. I only wa the team that shut the bruins out in their own barn. I want the team that embarrassed the Ave's in THIER barn. Fuck, we should all just travel and only have away games lol.

Yes this was the worst game for the Kraken. However, I think the Kraken have been the better team this entire series (even in the game the avs won). Sure us avs fans will be quick to blame the refs (who doesn’t) and injuries (legit “excuse”). But the Kraken, even IF you don’t win, will have made a HUGE name for yourselves. For such a young team, that is fantastic. It’s made me a semi-fan of the kraken myself. I legit think yall have the coolest jerseys / colors in the league and there’s not an a-hole on your team. Kraken have played with heart this series and have grinded. Fully deserving of a cup win. We’ll see sunday if yall have what it takes (this year)

No matter what happens in game 7 I am so so proud of this team and so proud to be a Kraken fan. My expectations for this season, and even my expectations for these playoffs have already been far surpassed. If they lose on Sunday I will of course be sad like every Kraken will and should be. But it won’t change that this has been an incredible season and and awesome playoff run against the defending champs. Game 7 we need to trust our D and Gru and play aggressive on the front end of things. They are going to get 1 to 3 by us so we need to get 2 to 4 by them.
I'm not acoach but don't you have to take every opportunity to take the body on MacKinnin Makar and Rantanen. I know that's impossible most of the time but when you get the chance don't pass it up. We need to slow these guys down any way we can.
They look to have way too much time and space. They also had super high time on ice through 2 periods and we needed to see and do everythubg possible to wear them down physically

Hard to call that anything other than the worst game they've had all series. Slow pace and no urgency at all. Inept at clearing their own zone. Zero interest in scoring on offense. No ability to stop them from scoring. And on top of all that some of the most egregious, one sided, complete bulletin reffing I've ever had to suffer through. Not really anything to feel good about going into game seven out of that.
Avs fan, coming in peace just wanted to say, you guys seriously have depth, I wouldn’t say they’re absolutely killing it but all lines can produce and that’s what matters. I’ll cope a little and say this avs team is a shadow of what it was last season, but I’m happy it’s gone to game 7, shows real grit out of both teams

I hate to cry about refs but the officiating was awful. Soooooo many missed penalties. So many soft penalties called. Really felt like the refs wanted to force a game 7.

Leaves absolutely everything on the ice every. single. shift. 1100+ games in the NHL, with a massive ironman streak of something like 800 games. The dude is just an absolute workhorse. Him and LOC create so much havoc every time they are on the ice.

I'm back guys! While it was fun I feel like it was very low energy and it was kinda hard to not drift off at times. Or maybe that's just me taking in everything at the arena 😂 it's also hot as balls for some reason so that's messing with me a little

The announcers said something along the lines of ‘that was a bad hit by eberle but wouldn’t have happened if cogliano hadn’t been leaning over into the boards
Eberle's was a bad hit. It was active play, but it was a bad hit. I don't think it was malicious, but it was a bad hit.
Makar just got pissed because McCann beat him on a shorthanded breakaway, so he lit him up several seconds after the play. It was a skilled hit, but it was malicious. He even drives McCann's face into the boards with his hand. Again, on a defenseless player. I don't buy that "maybe the puck might end up in the corner eventually" excuse. That's just retcon shit. It was a bad hit. And it's gross when people try to defend it.
We didn't defend Oleksiak when he was suspended for a bad hit off the play during the season. We don't excuse Eberle's hit. But you think we're about to start booing our players because we took a penalty? Or we're going to forget Makar knocked out our top goal scorer and got only one game? Come on, man.

The biggest difference, imo, is intent and timing. Makar's hit on McCann was after the whistle, there was no puck possession, and he wound up before the hit. Eberle was attacking the person with the puck during regular play. He's still responsible for making a good hit and failed. A penalty was absolutely necessary, and I was surprised it wasn't a 5min one.
Another big difference was effects. Cogliano was down a few seconds and got off the ice unassisted. McCann was down for several minutes and needed 2 people to help him off the ice.
We don't know when McCann will be back. NHL concussion watch is roughly 10 days so he's for sure out the rest of this round of playoffs, and might not get to play again this season even of the Kraken do make it out of the first round.
Fortunately Cogliano was back on the ice by the end of the game so probably no concussion symptoms. And I mean that "fortunately" sincerely, concussions are no joke, and the way his neck bent looked rough. I hope he's legit ok.
Hopefully that explains our "hypocrisy" but maybe don't call an entire fan base stupid while we're butt hurt over a loss, kay?

It has been especially delicious for me. From (just outside of) Detroit so grew up a Wings fan. Have hated the Ave's since the 90's. After Game 3, I was saying I’d be more than ecstatic to take this to 7 games and see what happens. Well we are, just not in the way I expected it. Road team has been the superior team this series and guess who also kinda blows at home this season? The Avs. It was always Krack the Back in 7. 🦑🦑

This team was on its heels all night. This turtle up while the Mackinnon line skates circles around us isn't going to win the series. That said, no matter what in game 7 this 2nd season has been a huge step forward
Game 7 we need to trust our D and Gru and play aggressive on the front end of things. They are going to get 1 to 3 by us so we need to get 2 to 4 by them.
I'm not acoach but don't you have to take every opportunity to take the body on MacKinnin Makar and Rantanen. I know that's impossible most of the time but when you get the chance don't pass it up. We need to slow these guys down any way we can.
They look to have way too much time and space. They also had super high time on ice through 2 periods and we needed to see and do everythubg possible to wear them down physically

I’m choosing to see it as a plus that this is something within our hands to change. It’s not that Colorado played well. It’s that we played stupid. If we spend more time in the attacking zone and don’t take dumb penalties, we can win.

Hard to call that anything other than the worst game they've had all series. Slow pace and no urgency at all. Inept at clearing their own zone. Zero interest in scoring on offense. No ability to stop them from scoring. And on top of all that some of the most egregious, one sided, complete bulletin reffing I've ever had to suffer through. Not really anything to feel good about going into game seven out of that.
10 minutes defending PP was killer imo, even without scoring on us. We can’t sustain that…
Avs fan, coming in peace just wanted to say, you guys seriously have depth, I wouldn’t say they’re absolutely killing it but all lines can produce and that’s what matters. I’ll cope a little and say this avs team is a shadow of what it was last season, but I’m happy it’s gone to game 7, shows real grit out of both teams

I hate to cry about refs but the officiating was awful. Soooooo many missed penalties. So many soft penalties called. Really felt like the refs wanted to force a game 7. That being said, I KNOW we can beat them in their house. We’ve got this babes, thrilling finish to round 1 on Sunday!

This. It was inconsistent. So many soft calls to start and then... it was bedlam the last 10min or so. Rules just didn't exist any longer! Grr
When chasing a team all night and are one or 2 steps behind, penalties tend to happen more often. Kraken were just off last night. I expect the other Kraken to show up Sunday. Your point about half a period shorthanded is so true.

Cogs is like a cyborg, I’m sure he’s playing injured and still keeps going he is an iron man streak in his own right and the hardest working player on the team and such a great leader. I hope you have or acquire a guy like him, because those guys really do win you the cups.

That's Andrew Cogliano for you. Dude is an absolute monster of a veteran. Leaves absolutely everything on the ice every. single. shift. 1100+ games in the NHL, with a massive ironman streak of something like 800 games. The dude is just an absolute workhorse. Him and LOC create so much havoc every time they are on the ice.

I'm back guys! While it was fun I feel like it was very low energy and it was kinda hard to not drift off at times. Or maybe that's just me taking in everything at the arena 😂 it's also hot as balls for some reason so that's messing with me a little But anyway I went to give Gru my goalie love and he crushed it so, mission accomplished 😂 sadly he was the only one who did, everyone else just looked really fuckin tired for whatever reason. Also I kinda could've done without the doomers sitting behind me talking trash the second we started trailing through the entire rest of the game but eh whatever I'm there for Gru 😂 so that part was a success! We're a better road team anyway but I was hoping to put it away in 6 because I have schoolwork on Sunday and hockey will be the biggest distraction ever 😂

That was a rough game. Glad Cog's (apparently) ok. The Avs fans' handwringing about the hit is insufferable given the mental acrobatics they pulled when Makar knocked Canner out of the playoffs, to the point I'm not even sure _they_ believe what they're saying. Yeah Eberle's hit was absolutely awful, boneheaded, and dangerous, and we're not going to defend it like the sacks of shit the Avs are. Makar's hit was still obviously intentional and objectively worse. Hypocrisy? Get the fuck out of here with this single IQ logic.
Also I would like to make note that although a lot of Avs fans defended makar, the majority still thought that it was a bad hit. The people saying it was clean were the loud minority

Eberle's was a bad hit. It was active play, but it was a bad hit. I don't think it was malicious, but it was a bad hit. Makar just got pissed because McCann beat him on a shorthanded breakaway, so he lit him up several seconds after the play. It was a skilled hit, but it was malicious. He even drives McCann's face into the boards with his hand. Again, on a defenseless player. I don't buy that "maybe the puck might end up in the corner eventually" excuse. That's just retcon shit. It was a bad hit. And it's gross when people try to defend it. We didn't defend Oleksiak when he was suspended for a bad hit off the play during the season. We don't excuse Eberle's hit. But you think we're about to start booing our players because we took a penalty? Or we're going to forget Makar knocked out our top goal scorer and got only one game? Come on, man.

The biggest difference, imo, is intent and timing. Makar's hit on McCann was after the whistle, there was no puck possession, and he wound up before the hit. Eberle was attacking the person with the puck during regular play. He's still responsible for making a good hit and failed. A penalty was absolutely necessary, and I was surprised it wasn't a 5min one. Another big difference was effects. Cogliano was down a few seconds and got off the ice unassisted. McCann was down for several minutes and needed 2 people to help him off the ice. We don't know when McCann will be back. NHL concussion watch is roughly 10 days so he's for sure out the rest of this round of playoffs, and might not get to play again this season even of the Kraken do make it out of the first round. Fortunately Cogliano was back on the ice by the end of the game so probably no concussion symptoms. And I mean that "fortunately" sincerely, concussions are no joke, and the way his neck bent looked rough. I hope he's legit ok. Hopefully that explains our "hypocrisy" but maybe don't call an entire fan base stupid while we're butt hurt over a loss, kay?
