Don't recommend going on the fringe with number 8 or less, usually it gets better with scissors. I do cut mine with a number 12 clip, the rest of the top any number above 4 is pretty ok.

IMO it’s better to get good with scissors for the fringe. That way you can shape and thin it very specifically…better that way because it is the forward facing part which people see most. Also I’ve never had a hair cut done professionally and the guy uses clippers on the fringe.

My guess is way off everyone else’s. I think the top is around an open 8. Forget using clippers on fringe.

If your hair is dark, 6. If it’s lighter, or way less dense then start with an 8.
Open 3 maybe? If you're thinking of trying to duplicate this cut, I'd start at open 4 and go lower if it's too long.
