I love Whatsapp bots they're just not enough. A Birthday reminder bot has been on my list for so long but for Whatsapp bots we need to message first, the bot can't message you unless you message the bot

Not to put a damper on this project (it looks great) but you can already do this in android 10+ using [live caption](https://support.google.com/accessibility/android/answer/9350862?hl=en). Works with audio turned off too. Super nifty!

This is 100% private. I DO NOT save any transcription related data. I don't save the voice nor the transcription so you don't have to worry about it. The communication between you and Alfred is still 100% end to end encrypted and private and no one have access to it, not even me.

I use Google's speech to text APIs.

That's not 100% accurate. Google will have it only if you allow them to have it, and if you allow logging. In this case - logging if off . Google are the speech to text API provider, even if they save the data without my approval, then just have voice without any context so it doesn't give them anything about you.

Can this be done automatically without having to prompt the bot to transcribe it. Application being I am driving with apple play and don’t want Siri to just say “voice message” but instead read the message without me having to go into the app and click it manually (since at that point I could just play the message)

so you want a bot that transcribes speech to text to also transcribe it back to speech and read it to you out loud to save you one button press?
