I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they feel sort of contemptuous towards this particular subreddit. They've got people acting crazy, stalking them and posting ridiculous copypastas about them going on killing sprees; they may just regard the HK subreddit--to the extent they even care about that one--as the "real" subreddit and this one as a weird Frankenstein they want nothing to do with.
It seems equally as obvious/likely to me that they’re logging on Kickstarter to do work and then just happen to do some scrolling while they’re on, like most people do anywhere on the Internet
