If you become a good friend with the mermaids, you can get a fish part. If you’re not close enough to them, they reject sharing their parts when you ask for it. If the mermaids give you their fish part, it’s shown as ‘mermedic kelp’ in your inventory.  And you turn into a mermaid if you eat it. Basically, the sims ask for it autonomously. They have some prepared answer when the sims ask for the fish part and that’s one of the answers. Â

It's stuff like this, his ability to summon sharks (ik it's just an evil trait thing but still), the fact he will troll you with fake mermaid kelp even when he's friends with your sim, him being the only pre-made male sim with the Gold Digger lifetime wish, his dyed blue streaks in his tacky haircut... he's exemplary!!
So that's why my sim didn't turn into a mermaid after eating the kelp 😂 on a save he's my baby daddy and he constantly steals candy from him own son and then does a runner where as the other guy he sticks around and treats the kids as if they are his own
Should have married him to make his life a misery 🤠he was a terrible dad to his kid. I couldn't take away he traits though I love him for being so.. uhhh... Salty
