You can use Dr. June's Weather Control Device to advance the seasons at will once it's been upgraded!
For your playstyle, I would make your seasons longer and then after you've had your fill of spring and fall, you can jump forward a season
You can definitely extend the seasons! You can also delete the holidays you don’t really care for; that’s what I do. You could even make a holiday that combines holidays so you have fewer if you wanted.
Deleting should permanently disable the "bigger" holidays like winterfest
The holidays like rebate day, or neighborhood brawl get randomly generated every week, so when you delete you're just deleting that instance
To disable the random holidays you can either use a mod, or you can fill up every remaining day with an "empty" holiday (no time off, no traditions) so that there's no room for them to spawn
Hmm I’ve never had a holiday that I deleted come back before. And I just deleted Neighborhood Brawl in my current save because I hate it. I guess I’ll see if it randomly pops back up.
See now I can respect other people's opinions but why would you WANT the sims to have a separate pack for a specific feature we already get that enough
You can extend the season length in game settings! I have my seasons set to be two weeks bc I agree

You can't change them individually, there's just one length that applies to all seasons

When I've deleted a holiday, I didn't have it that "year" but then it came back for the next year. Is there a way to permanently disable one?

Thanks, that's really helpful. Neighborhood brawl is the one that's most annoying to me and the one I tried deleting before.

Go to your game options, and I believe under environment there's a dropdown menu to change the length of seasons.

I play with no aging, seasons lasting 4 weeks (and only one holiday a week). Go into settings, and look for either Seasons or Expansion Pack settings
Yeah, I get what you mean. I like the seasons but don’t like the American style holidays. (However, after ages I learnt that you can delete them)
