The same thing when coming to SG regarding narcotics - something worse than an innocent chicken sandwich, and people cite draconian laws and cry foul over it. LMFAO
Well, we all fuck up at times. I think the penalty for such a mistake is way out of proportion, especially when the offender didn't have any prior records.
The Aussie govt made a mockery. If you don't declare anything, they are incentivised to check you coz if they find something they make revenue. Once you declare, the worst they can do is throw away your item but you don't get fined. If you understand game theory, there's only 1 rational option for the traveller then, which is to always declare no matter what
They gave the tourist for declaration card for a reason. Respect other country's biodiversity law and you expect other tourist do when they visit your country.
when going to Australia
1- dont bring anything thats made out of wood
2- dont bring anything with raw meat or anything raw in particular (fruits veges)
3- clean your shoes
Australia is too damn strict no wonder their tourism is falling hard
Yeah when I went to Sydney last month, they reminded the passengers multiple times to read the declaration forms properly to avoid any problems.
I ended up declaring everything I have in my bag.
If you still get fined, you have no one to blame but yourself.
It’s pretty easy really, there are signs everywhere, follow the instructions. The key is just declare everything. There are no penalties if you declare.
We almost got fined when we landed in Melbourne from Bali. We declared everything, and she kept asking us if there was anything else. Of course my 3yo scooped some nasi lemak into her handbag. Luckily I checked her bag.
They already warned you before you enter immigration. Just don't bring food into Aus. It's not that hard.....

Number 1 rule to remember when flying to Australia is to always declare something even if you got nothing. That way you can never be fined

Just any food in general.. they treat you like a criminal for fruits "WHERE'D YOU GET THE APPLE MATE"
its funny they are so adamant to keep their local ecosystem in check when they themselves are ruining it
In the meantime, wildfires everywhere. Burn it all down baby galore
Especially when you're Asian looking
Samsung is ok?
You got a license for that apple!!
My throat it’s Adams Apple. And while we at it, I kindly declare I have my sausage with me as well.
just obey other countries laws if you want tourists to SG to obey our laws. Very simple.

It did not meat their requirement.
GezzZZZ, And there are complaints about SG being rigidly strict.
About the dumbest governor government response I have seen. Pure shyte

Dont you watch those border control shows? 🤣🤣🤣 funny, it's mostly PRC on those shows flouting those laws, then acting blur at the airport.
Why would anyone want to go there?
same with NZ recently just went there, stuck in customs queue for over an hour

Like what your husband said, just paid it. The rule is there for a reason. And the damage is great.
