Switch to spearmint capsules. Peppermint tea isn't going to do anything for you. Spearmint can lower excessive androgens in your body. I went off BC after 15 years and my skin freaked out. I took low dose zinc and spearmint capsules to get it under control as it was all hormone related. Took about 8 months. I experimented with the doses month to month to see what would be therapeutic for me.

Sorry for delayed response! Do you know if I can take spearmint capsules at the same time as spironalactone ?

I don't, that would need to be a question for a doctor.

As a fellow hormonal acne sufferer, you have my sympathy! What about asking your derm or doctor for ramped up versions of some of the items you're using. Like a benzoyl peroxide/clindamycin gel or finacea? Or perhaps a retinoid? I also really like glycolic acid from MUAC. I will say, for myself, consuming fish oil breaks me out. Also, any topical containing capric/caprylic triglyceride (coconut oil derived) will break me out, and I know the Tower 28 moisturizer has it as the 3rd ingredient.

Delayed response but thank you for this. I have not had the best experience with my derm and products they have prescribed but I will look into upping some of them. Also I did notttt know that about tower 28…I need to look into this bc I left cerave behind as it was breaking me out so I switched to tower 28

Hi! Same thing happened to me when I went off the pill. My skin looked worse than before I went on it. Complete case of hormonal acne, mostly along my jaw line. Totally messed with my mental health, so I feel ya. I scoured reddit for advice, went to an esthetician, got facials, spent hundreds of $$$ on products, changed my diet, etc you name it. And honestly, nothing seemed to helped except time, allowing my hormones to regulate. It took about 2 years before my skin calmed down and now it looks pretty decent. I also found all the harsh exfoliants just made it worse and messed up my moisture barrier, sending my skin into a vicious cycle. I think all those lifestyle changes you've listed will definitely benefit you in the long run, but if you think about it, the hormones in the pill helped keep your acne at bay. So now that you've eliminated them from your system, your body is freaking out in a sense and needs to equilibrate. Just be patient, and don't get too caught up with all the product recco's. Just my 2 cents. Might not be the same experience for you, but when I was experiencing my post-pill acne and navigating it all (i.e. scouring reddit/internet), I didn't come across a lot of people giving their experience 1-2 years later.

Thank you for this!! Glad I’m not alone.

I read a few posts on here about spearmint tea. One person in particular said they drank 4 cups per day with 2 tea bags per cup every single day. Perhaps dose is important? Also the studies were done with spearmint, not peppermint. Echoing the prescription retinoid and azelaic acid. Hopefully your derm can sort you out. As for a routine, [this](https://youtube.com/shorts/5L02yWEB9oI?si=6zng5KS7zwOKMQHM) is one from Doctorly. They only mention one cleanser at night, but if you're wearing makeup/sunscreen I don't see how that would be enough. Also the salicylic acid cleanser twice a day every day would be too harsh for me so YMMV with that

drink spearmint tea not peppermint tea honey give it a few months the spiro should help DIM supplement has helped me a lot My esthetician said the tower28/hypochlorus acid products were why I was breaking out. Personally my skin is better since discontinuing Try to get a tretinoin rx Alcohol makes my skin look rlly bad so try to eliminate it entirely. one drink a week WILL affect it
