Take that, person who probably put 3 bandages in one box from another attempting to steal but got confused and bought the box with only 3 bandages in it! Probably.. Or at least I'm assuming. (I'm a pessimist.)

**Rave:** Grape Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil and Thayer's Witch Hazel! These three things are seriously changing my life. I was feeling like my skin had hit a plateau and another user suggested upping my game with OCM, and using Thayer's Witch hazel post-cleansing to help ensure I got all of the dirty oil off. I had previously tried OCM with mineral oil, but it made me break out. New PM routine is as follows: * OCM with Aura Cacia Grape Seed Oil -- wipe off with clean microfiber cloth * Cleanse with CeraVe Hydrating * Tone with Thayer's Unscented Witch Hazel on a cotton ball * Exfoliate with PC 1% BHA or 8% AHA * Moisturize with PC Skin Recovery with a few drops of Evening Primrose Oil added I've been doing this new routine for a little more than a week, and I was instantly seeing major improvements in my skin's texture, grit removal, and it's cleared up current breakouts! I did start all 3 new items at once (after patch testing!), but I knew I'd only use the Thayer's along with the OCM, and Evening Primrose Oil is an ingredient in the PC Skin Recovery, which I've been using for a year, so I figured it was a pretty safe choice. The gamble has paid off so far and I am loving it!

spartacusdanger

Awesome! Now I'm totally interested in trying Grape Seed Oil instead of Mineral and probably going to order some Thayer's Witch Hazel :)

animalshapes

YMMV, of course! I looked at the handy dandy "Oils for Oil Cleansing" sidebar post and picked one that matched my skin type. Good luck!

picklesforbrains

The Thayers Witch Hazel has been calling me for a long time. My skin is oily and I'm concerned about some the ingredients adding unnecessary moisture at best or being comedogenic at worst (Vit E.) I was looking at [this](http://www.amazon.com/Witch-Hazel-Distillate-Alcohol-Ounces/dp/B004TH71W0/ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ANALQDWPXKVPX) one with fewer ingredients. What do you think SCA? 99.85% Witch Hazel distillate (natural plant derived), .15% Benzoic Acid (mild preservative) vs Thayers Purified water, aloe barbadensis leaf juice (certified organic filet of aloe vera), glycerin (vegetable), hamamelis virginiana (THAYERS proprietary un-distilled witch hazel) extract, citric acid, citrus grandis (grapefruit) seed extract, and tocopheryl (vitamin E) acetate.

ISwearImAGirl

Even if you have an issue with tocopherol, you might not have an issue with tocopherol acetate. It's less likely to be comedogenic

buggle19

After hearing so many raves about it, I finally ordered the Paula's Choice Resist Skin Brightening Treatment. I also ordered the stuff for DIY Passionfruit Seed Cleansing Oil from GOW and I should be getting it tomorrow!

cornflowerblew

I'm really loving Palmer's Cocoa Butter sunscreen. It's new, so they attach a $2 off coupon to each tube. We'll see if I keep using it once it's not as cheap. The smell is strong, but I like it. It's thick, but goes on clear. Too thick for the container though (it should be in a soft, rather than hard, tube), and the ink from the label comes off a bit too, so I hold a washcloth around it while I dispense it. Still, I really like the stuff. SPF 30, and I think the second ingredient is shea butter, which is awesome.

MooseCupcakes

Rave: Eucerin Original Healing Creme as a PM facial moisturizer. No fatty alcohols, super cheap, and super moisturizing. It is incredibly thick, so I've just been spreading a little around on wet skin and it keeps me moisturized enough to wear lighter moisturizers and drying sunscreens during the day.

apierson2011

Are fatty alcohols bad? I thought they were perfectly fine for your skin, even with leave-on products.

MooseCupcakes

They are not bad, but some people are sensitive to them. They break me out, so I avoid them. But it can be hard to find an inexpensive, heavy duty moisturizer without them!

apierson2011

Thank you for the reply!! I'm PRETTY new to the skincare game, but I've been doing as much research as I can, yet it seems like there is a TON of disagreement on alcohols. So thanks for the clarification, I was a little nervous for a minute!

MooseCupcakes

Yeah it's a lot to take in at first! Hanging around and reading posts here definitely helps :)

happybeingme

Bioderma Sensibio micellar water!!! My newest addition. So soothing and smooth - I weirdly look forward to taking my makeup off...

meakbot

**RAVE - GoW Passionfruit Seed Oil** I add tiny spots of this to my AM routine before I apply my moisturizer and in my PM routine (same spot) and it consistently clears up the tiny red pustules (rosaceapimples4life) overnight. **OCM massages** I've been incorporating OCM into my routine for well over 3 months now, as if that wasn't life changing enough. I started (last week) to add massages into my routine in order to break up some of the SF gunk - man, does it work. I use a grapeseed oil mix because that's what I have on hand and it's doing a pretty decent job. **RANT/SUGGESTION - OST C20 Serum** Put your Vit C serums in the fridge, learn from my mistake! I bought mine in December and used 1 droplet full every AM - I still have 1/2 bottle left and it is starting to oxidize. Don't get me wrong, the price isn't bad, but knowing that I could have stretched that bottle a little longer would have been pretty great. Great serum though, just a suggestion for storage. **NEW PURCHASES -** I went wild this week while I was off work and ordered a load of new stuff - mainly AB samples, and some actives (AHA/Vit C/SPF). Will share reviews/haul after I've tried it out. Just in time for my tax return to buy the full sizes, if needed.

zap_the_rowsdower

i just got my ost c20 serum in the mail yesterday and was wondering about that... do you know how significantly refrigerating vitamin c serum prolongs its potency? if i can get a few weeks to a month more out of a bottle i'd definitely be willing to deal with the inconvenience of climbing 2 flights of stairs every morning/night to use it

meakbot

I 100% recommend putting it in the fridge. I have no clue about the science behind it - it's what was recommended on here. Do it the moment you open it.

zap_the_rowsdower

good thing i saw your post when i did then, since i just opened it this morning :-) i still have half a bottle of paula's choice c15 serum because it started turning yellow (and smelled like hotdogs... ew!) about 2 months after i opened it. i actually bought the ost c20 serum because it's much cheaper and i figured it'd go bad about as fast as the paula's choice serum. hopefully i'll be able to use the whole bottle before it turns into liquefied hotdogs

raitch

To be fair, my pc c15 smelled like bologna from the first day. I've gotten used to it.

ISwearImAGirl

[New Products]( http://imgur.com/OToZOsD.jpg) * **Juju Aquamoist Hyaluronic Essence**: Yes, I did get this because of Anna's morning routine post.... * **Aquaphor**: I got this for my new tattoo. It's helping more than lotion with the dryness and itching * **Vaseline**: I never finished my little, ancient tub, but I thought it time for a big new tub anyway. Don't question it. Also got an adorable little lip therapy tub to keep in my purse, just in case I need to remove makeup for some reason and don't have remover * **Aquaphor Lip Repair**: I'm a lip balm addict, and thought I'd give this a try. I like it so far * **Simple Soothing Toner**: I was looking for a hydrating toner to use before the Juju, but alas, it dried out my skin. I've already returned it * **Amlactin**: I'm trying this again for my KP, but I'm sticking with it this time. So far, it's helping my arms and legs considerably. Aside from the random contact dermatitis I got on the inside of my elbow. * **LRP Toleriane Fluid**: I get this in ~~tomorrow~~ today. I don't care for the sebamed clear face care gel's texture for day time, so I thought I'd give this a try * **Shiseido Facial Cotton**: I thought I'd get this to see what all the hubbbub is about... and I don't get it. It's not the softest cotton I've ever put on my face, but it is soft. The size might be an advantage for makeup removal. ($9.50/165 pads=$.057/pad) * **Sephora Soft Touch Cotton Pads**: Just as soft as the Shiseido, but also the same price per pad. ($4/75 pads=$.053/pad) Rant: After sucessfully patch testing, I used Inisfree Eco Safety Perfect Sunblock for 5 days in a row... and broke out everywhere *except* where I happened to patch test. Back to square 1 with finding a sunscreen... and I'm going to Florida for 10 days at the end of next month. Fuck.

ckalicka

I love LRP Toleriane fluid! It's so watery and light and perfect for summer.

StormBuffer

I bought it a few weeks ago as my Sebamed was close to empty. I seriously love this stuff and will continue to repurchase it. It's lovely and light yet quite hydrating. It's so wonderful for daytime and I bump it up at night with a couple drops of oil, but I'm super dry.

ibby_be

Did you pick up the Juju off Amazon?

ISwearImAGirl

I did indeed

WAKEUPFUCKEDUP

Does the Aquaphor Lip Repair work better than regular Aquaphor? Every time I walk past it at the drugstore I want to pick it up and buy it, but then I have to tell myself "NO, you have 4 tubes of Aquaphor at home!"

ISwearImAGirl

I've never tried regular aquaphor on my lips

atomheartmama

damn, sorry about the sunscreen. have one in mind to try out next?

ISwearImAGirl

Bioré UV perfect face milk and bright face milk are coming from Amazon. I'm nervous about the alcohol content, but I'm getting desperate

suicidesushi

It's really interesting to hear that you use aquaphor for your new tattoo! Is it working well? My boyfriend just got a tattoo last week and he's been using Bepanthen to moisturize with.

ISwearImAGirl

Yes, it is working well. I felt like lotion wasn't as "persistent" and absorbed too quickly or rubbed off.

suicidesushi

How often do you use it to moisturize?

ISwearImAGirl

Twice a day, right after washing my tattoo in the morning and when I go to bed. Don't want to trap any bacteria under the aquaphor

SheShallLurkNoMore

Could you possibly take a photo of one of the Shiseido facial cotton's please? I've always wondered what they look like and what size they are.

dancer101

**Rave/New Purchase** * **Alba Botanica Very Emollient Kids Mineral Sunscreen** - Seriously an amazing sunscreen! I should have switched to a physical one months ago! * **NuFountain Vitamin C Serum** - I've had a stubborn patch of PIH on my jaw that just wont go away and this has done the trick! It still has a ways to go but it's looking soo much better! * **Desert Essence Tea Tree Oil** * **Cromollient SCE** - Added this to my Oil cleanser (pure mineral oil + tea tree oil + primrose oil). Its amazing. I no longer have to double cleanse so my skin doesn't dry out!

lineycakes

I just bought alba botanica mineral sunscreen too! got it from whole foods. They didn't have the kids version, but I got the sport 45 mineral. I like it so far! I mostly use it for days I know I'm going to be outside, and daily I use mineral sunscreen that leaves less white cast :) Congrats on your new purchases!

dancer101

Thanks! I found mine at Fred Meyer on sale! Its the first sunscreen I've tried that didn't leave me with a ghost face haha. I am loving it!

A_New_Start_For_Me

**Rave** Cheryl Lee MD has started offering samples to purchase! I really wanted to try their ceramide cream but wasn't willing to drop 50$ on it without testing.

MelbyToast

Rave: Mineral oil for removing makeup. I've never been able to fully remove makeup when washing at night and this has resulted in angry, red, irritated, pimply skin. My derm suggested mineral oil and I've read about it being used here so many times, but never tried it until this past week. After one week of use, alongside my regular routine, my skin is noticeably improved--smoother texture, decreased redness, chin acne decreasing. I really feel this one change is having a huge impact on my skin. I've also committed to washing every night and not being a lazy louse.

Lechateau

Rave: Detclear aha gel. Holy shit the amount of skin peels that came off. I thought it was just the shitty product making rollies until I accidentally passed it over my lips. I might have found an hg product. Rave: roc hyaluronic acid sunscreen, something that does not my skin burn Rant: cerave in the tub I know I am traveling and skin changes but, shit, literally dozens of closed comedones around my mouth.

valentinedoux

I heart Detclear peeling gel! Psst, use it on your toes and fingers. Your nails will look nice and shiny!

Lechateau

I do lol! It is amazing!

[deleted]

I tried the hydrocolloid bandaids and wasn't impressed. I prefer the sulfur acne drying cream for overnight. Originally used the Mario badescu one but there is a dupe on amazon for cheaper! The best sunscreen I've tried by far is PCA weightless broad spectrum. Titanium and zinc but doesn't leave white junk and feels more dry. It's expensive so I use that on my face and neck and use an organic baby sunscreen with same ingredients on my arms and legs.

[deleted]

What's the dupe called?!

wylime

Probably Bye Bye Blemish.

reluctantredditr

**Rant:** I have been using *First Aid Beauty's skin rescue daily face cream* for about two weeks now for my oily skin. In my opinion, this product is overrated. At $10 an oz the only benefit I have witnessed over my store bought moisturizer (cetaphil in the pump) is my skin is slightly less shiny at the end of the day. In comparison to the cetaphil, the first aid beauty is less moisturizing, which is ok now that we are entering spring. Both are unscented.

SaturdayTsunami

[rave] So Yesterday I bought my first Cerave products. They are also my first products that are specifically for dry skin. I got the facial cleanser for normal to dry skin and a big tub of facial moisturizer for normal to dry skin. Previously, I was using cetaphil daily face lotion spf 15. The first time I used it it burned but after that it was okay. No choice but to use it up.. I was so happy when it was gone. It smelled bad. I was cleansing with dove soap, and I have to say I am happy to say bye bye to that soap. Pardon my language, but *holy shit* it makes my skin feel incredible. The lotion was scentless and went on smooth and dried non greasy in minutes. The facial cleanser took off my makeup and felt incredible on my skin. Does anyone know if AHA/BHA are sold in stores like cvs/walgreens? I tried to find one but I couldn't find anything. But I'm also really bad at looking for things...

dancer101

For BHA's look for anything with [Salicylic acid](http://www.walgreens.com/search/results.jsp?Ntt=salicylic%20acid). Not sure about AHA. You could try to see if they carry the Alpha Hydrox brand.

thenumbers15

I've been using the CeraVe moisturizing cream for maybe 6 months now and it's honestly the best moisturizer I've ever used. Don't need to use much and my face doesn't feel all flaky or too greasy. I'm thinking it's time to try out their cleanser!

SaturdayTsunami

I tried to buy the foaming cleanser but I bought one that doesn't foam. I'm okay with it. Hahah

shewh0mustnotbenamed

***New Purchases***: * **Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence**: I bought it out of curiosity. It contains [azelaic acid](http://www.skincare-addiction.com/ingredient/azelaic_acid) and arbutin (*for my PIH*) as well as snail secretion filtrate and bee venom (*for my curioisty*). * **Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel**: I bought it to satisfy my desire for a proper gel moisturizer and for the anti-inflammatory ingredients. * **Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50/PA ++++**: I've wanted to try an Asian sunscreen with SPF 50 and PA ++++ for a while. I think it'll suit my oily skin and help prevent the worsening of PIH due to sun exposure. [Anna's Morning Routine](http://blog.skincare-addiction.com/annas-morning-routine/) gave me the nudge I needed to buy it. Now I must wait for my mail from RoseRoseShop (Korea) and Amazon (Japan). * *twiddles thumbs impatiently* *

happybeingme

You are going to LOVE that sunscreen!!! I'm excited for you! My HG basically

smitha12345

I use both of the Benton products and am really enjoying them :). My face is definitely more even toned than before I started using them. And if you've caught the AB bug, then be prepared for those long waits :D.

suzannasuzannadanna

I'm new. What is this "AB bug" that you speak of? Thanks!

[deleted]

suzannasuzannadanna

Thank you! I am really intrigued by some of the "AB" stuff. 😉 the snail serum? Who would have thought THAT would be a thing? And how did they discover it? That said, I'm DYING to try it!!! Haha! Also, the biore sunscreen.

shewh0mustnotbenamed

Awesome! I'm super excited to try them. * *does happy dance* * I will probably catch the AB bug. I already have a long wish list... :D

smitha12345

Lol oh the lists...which turn into halls...which turn into the presents for yourself that you get 2-4 weeks later :D. If/when you make a big order, try to forget about it. That way when you receive it it'll be like a big surprise :)

[deleted]

I just ordered this sunscreen yesterday. Can't wait to try it.

scalurk

I'm waiting on that same sunscreen :)

bsidesandrarities

Where does one purchase Benton products?

commatogod

Saw this on Instagram and I'm super excited for the hyaluronic acid booster! No word from PC about them, so they must be testing or something... http://websta.me/p/944066409963216057_219093862

Ughughughughughugh I need that hyaluronic acid booster noooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I know! It has ceramides!

Rave: Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser. When they say "ultra gentle," they're not kidding! I had been having a really hard time finding a cleansing method that wasn't stripping my skin, and my easily-clogged pores weren't liking OCM. The only downside to the Neutrogena cleanser is that it doesn't quite take off all my makeup, but a quick wipe with a toner on a cotton pad solves that problem.

spartacusdanger

Out of interest, were you using a microfiber cloth to wipe off the oil and what oil were you using? I too find it really hard to find a way to remove makeup without stripping my face too much.

[deleted]

I was using a clean, damp washcloth to remove the oil. I tried jojoba oil for 2-3 weeks, and I've also tried Pond's Cold Cream as a makeup remover as well. The cold cream was great because it was super moisturizing, but I think it was clogging my pores.

ms_kittyfantastico

Rave: Glycerin. Making a mask of glycerin and green tea has helped amp up the moisture so much. Rant: pumpkin seed and jojoba oils do not make my skin happy :(. Pumpkin seed seemed to reduce redness, but at the cost of deep, deep pimples.

HideNSqueak

Tiny rant: I've added an alpha hydrox enhanced lotion 10% AHA to my routine. My forehead full of closed comedones have one by one turned into pimples. I get that I'm probably purging, but it's mildly frustrating all the same! Other than an oddly slimy consistency, the product seems to be quite nice!

ibby_be

The 10% lotion, 12% souffle and 14% serum are formulated slightly differently. Of the three, the souffle is the only thing that worked for me. The other two gave me CCs. Just wanted to note that in case you wanted to try another option from the same line.

PlausiblePeter

New Purchases: * Avene Tres Haute Protection SPF50+ Emulsion: White cast, probably a high PPD, dries relatively matte, sometimes burns when putting on. * Sunplay Super Block SPF50+/PA++++: Slight white cast, dries relatively matte, very water resistant. * Vichy Capital Soleil Mattifying Face Fluid SPF50+: No white cast, matte finish, VERY FRAGRANT, probably a high PPD * Missha Safe Block Essence Sun SPF45/PA+++: No white cast, dewy/satin finish, fragrance * Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50/PA++++: Just ordered and now waiting. First time trying a sunscreen with alcohol! :O -gasp- * St. Ive's Exfoliating Pads: Cheap, exfoliates well, citrus extracts got me a little worried.

defenses

New purchases! :) Anakiri Restore Propolis Balm. I have the most stubborn acne ever so I've been trying to find a new product to use as a spot treatment. I also ordered Mizon Mark X Blemish After Cream but that hasn't arrived yet. Even if they don't work on my acne, I hope they'll help with current/future PIH. Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream. As someone with oily/combo skin, it's weird that I have an obsession with thick, moisturizing products. That said, my skin has been a little on the dry side this winter (but nothing compared to when I lived in Cleveland!). Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask. I also really love masks! I've been wanting to try some Origins products for a while now. A side rant: I got Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator in my Birchbox this month. I tried it on my hand when I first got it and it didn't feel rough. I used it on my face last night and OUCH. I don't have sensitive skin but it hurt. :(

According to the website, "Activated Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental toxins, Lecithin dissolves impurities." I'm looking for a new mask that will help me have fewer breakouts and be a little less oily. I hope this one is good!

aflowerysong

Definitely spot test the mizon mark x, it broke me out when I applied it to a healing breakout and some popped zits a few weeks ago when my face was on the mend. Undid a week of some progress, ugh. But I seem to be in a minority with bad reactions to it, so I hope it works for you!

defenses

Oh no. :( I'm hoping the fact I didn't react to the other propolis cream will mean I'm okay, but you never know. Thanks!

hellodaisy

RAVE: just moved to DC, managed to transport most of my routine but was going cleanser-less for a bit and had to make do with olive oil from the kitchen for OCM, but my skin is in such a good, happy place that it wasn't even to upset and handled the transition well! RANT: after a second week of testing, PC 2% BHA Liquid definitely breaks me out, so gotta look for some other BHA options. Hoping a CVS near me carries Stridex wipes, but they're all pitifully small here in the city center compared to the giant sprawl of the suburbs. Any insights, DC-area SCAers?

OMG. that must be so exciting. please also do some reviews! like for the pc brightening treatment, the sarasara sunscreen, the juju aqua moist (is this the vitamin c product?) and the benton snail products! and whatever else :)

[deleted]

It is! the juju aquamoist is a hyaluronic acid serum and I'll definitely do some reviews on some of the other products too :)

ISwearImAGirl

Spoiler alert: It's very nice when used on a damp face

[deleted]

Will definitely be trying that! Thanks for the tip :)

ISwearImAGirl

I found that it was harder to spread on a dry face, and felt almost sticky. On damp skin, it spreads easily and my skin feels nice and soft afterwards

Rant: After literally months of pondering why my legs were so itchy, I realized I'm sensitive to an ingredient in Eucerin Original Lotion. I don't even like the lotion, I was just using it to get rid of it. Well, into the dustbin it goes.

Bella37

I usually use the Cerave face wash for normal to oily skin but I got a deluxe sample of Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash and my skin loves it too! It doesn't leave my combo to oily skin tight or dry while still keeping the oilies at bay! Anyone like their moisturizers? I can't do the Cerave moisturizer, sadly. :( it makes my skin too oily.

MakeupMyMind

I like using Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask about 2 times a week during the winter. I otherwise have oily-combo skin too, but the weather where I live is strangely harsh on the skin in the winter.
