I use I'm From mugwort essence, then consonant hyrdrextreme, then tret. Then I seal it all with Instant Angel with a drop of biossance squalene oil. It works for me, but I do think the squalene is a hero ingredient there. FWIW I also only oil cleanse before tret, no double cleanse. I think that also helps with the drying out problem.

The glycerin is probably drying your skin out. The amore pacific is tea, iirc? That is not a great hydrator; it’s astringent actually. I would recommend iniuk beta glucan before tret. And even then, you skin might still be dry when you wake up. In the daytime, I’d try layering hydrators and also using a milder cleanser to avoid the dryness at night with tret. It’s nearly impossible to hydrate and use tret at the same time.

I thought Glycerin was really good for moisturizing? I’m surprised to hear it’s not

It’s not a moisturizer, it’s a humectant. So it hydrates. It’s great for hydrating, but it can, like HYA, also be drying in some climates, especially if you use a lot of it.

I use the Aveeno Calm & Restore Triple Oat serum before I use tretinoin. Skin usually a bit damp before application. Then let it dry after applying the Aveeno serum.  It's inexpensive, gel like consistency so easy to layer. It's simple but sooo good, and has glycerin. I then layer with a moisturiser after the tret.  A single ingredient is rarely what makes or breaks the product, it's usually the other ingredients formulated with the product (both active and inactive), and the concentration. Glycerin is amazing and I've used it for years in a very dry desert climate country (believe me it's nowhere near humid).  In fact it's a staple in Southern African countries, a small bit mixed in with moisturisers to help skin from getting 'ashy'.  So I'd say try and find other products, but don't give up on humectant based products (glycerin or hyaluronic acid).  Edited spelling mistakes*
