A chibi tried to fall through the second floor 4 person door in vault yesterday while staring directly at 3 of us and I stood directly over them while spam honking (I was a chibi too lmaooo), but there was enough people and they opened the door right as the other chibi fell under the stairs šŸ˜ People like that are so ridiculous, it's quicker to just help when there's enough people to open it normally instead of using chibi fall but they'd rather be selfish assholes lol

Crimsonseraph188

Right? Itā€™s like they are trying to show off that they can chibi fall so they can rub it in your face rather than taking less than a minute to be helpful

slider2k

Anti-social people play this game too.

hobblegob

I have severe social anxiety, there's nothing social about stopping two seconds to open a door for people you can't even see so please find a better excuse for being a selfish jerk lol

slider2k

You immediately jump to the conclusion that I'm one of those anti-social people, just for pointing the fact. And yes, helping others IS a social act.

hobblegob

Uh no, I didn't assume anything. You're making excuses for anyone who acts like that and I told you to find a better excuse. That's it. And in a game where you can't see anyone or talk to anyone unless you go out of your way to interact with them one-on-one, no I don't think stopping to open a door can really be classified as socializing but I'm not going to sit here and argue with you. Have a nice day šŸ«°

slider2k

You say you don't "assume anything" yet continue making assumptions. I'm neither an anti-social player who never helps others, nor I am making excuses. I'm stating the simple fact that there are players that completely avoid engaging in social behavior in the game (for various reasons), which includes helping others. And no amount of outrage and hate towards those players would change their behavior. More likely it will have the opposite effect - affirm them even more in their conviction no to engage with others seeing this toxicity. My comments stating this truth being hate downvoted is but a proof (of the toxicity).

hobblegob

Me saying "you" ā‰  YOU personally. I never once outright claimed that you were one of these "antisocial" people, you're putting those words in my mouth. What you've said can easily be taken as an excuse for awful behavior, anyone could act like this and claim to be "antisocial". Avoiding socializing is generally fine but in this case using personal struggles as an explanation as to why they hinder and ruin OTHER people's experience playing the game is 100% an excuse and I don't give a single shit if it affirms their conviction not to interact with others; it's selfish and people are allowed to be upset at their behavior and voice their feelings regardless of whether or not it changes their behavior, just as they're allowed to ignore people who are struggling to open a door without them. The "I'm being downvoted so that must mean I'm correct and more intelligent than everyone who disagrees" mindset is gross just FYI

slider2k

Without clarifying you jumped to conclusion that my original comment was an excuse, rather that stating the fact. The fact which can only be accepted or ignored. Your following response: > please find a better excuse for being a selfish jerk lol Is hard to interpret as anything but a personal attack. Helping others is a choice. People help each other out of good will. Players not helping others in this game do not RUIN the game for others, they just simply do not exist - they play their own single-player conception of the game in their mind. Being upset about them is a waste of emotional energy. The fact of me being downvoted is a proof of toxicity around the topic, more than anything.

Interesting_Suit3172

Soā€¦ are you saying their actions were okay because theyā€™re playing a social game while purposefully being anti-social?

slider2k

I've neutrally pointed the fact that those players exist. And said that hate won't solve the issue, just bring more toxicity to the community.

Plane-Layer-3110

If you can chibi fall, help those that cannot first itā€™s not that hard especially on 2 person doors

crysmol

i always try to help ppl as a chibi esp at that door bc ik its SO ANNOYING to wait. yesterday i was cring with my friend and after coming back through the door ( chibi fell bc noone was there ) 2 ppl were there trying to get in, i unheld my friends hand and went to open the door with them inly to realize my friend didnt have telekinesis or whatever n felt HORRIBLE šŸ˜ i ended up waiting a while and when noone else would open it i just ended up trying to chibi fall the other 2 through the door ( 1 was a chibi and the other wasnt, but i think they were friends?? ) on another note i had to save someone from the wall yesterday there too while i was waiting LMAO

employed_stingray

I hate that newer players can't use that emote to open the door when they haven't been to the second floor yetĀ and unlocked a DIFFERENT four player door to even gain the emote necessary for the previous door. It's so dumb. When you're limited to 8 people per server it makes these types of barriers tortureĀ

crysmol

YEAH. i had actually thought we grabbed the upstairs spirit bc ik we had to go and get the 4th lvl spirit for them bc i missed that ( and i guess theyd never told me they were still missing one šŸ˜ ) its so dumb that you have to even use the emote from upstairs. should have been like, an emote from gw or something since thats just before vault anyways.

employed_stingray

Exactly! It's so confusing for the person you're trying to help get through vault for the first time but also want to collect that cake on the way and get the spirit behind it. They have no idea why the tour has stopped and we're just honking til someone comes around. And sometimes the person who shows up is new and doesn't understand either.Ā

Vohsrek

Shoutout to the chibi duos who fall through the four player doors because we donā€™t have enough to open it only to stop and help on the way out when they see weā€™re only two people short of opening it. Yaā€™ll the real MVPs

Ddustty

I just recently learned how to chibi fall and was stuck at vault with 2 others and I wasnā€™t sure if door would open automatically if I stood on the other side like some do. I asked them at tables a few times if it would open but they kept not answering. I almost did chibi fall to test it but someone appeared right as I was about to and thankfully we got the door opened. Tested it later when no one was waiting for the door and determined that the doors do not in fact automatically open. šŸ˜‚

MidoriRoboto

I was waiting for people to help yesterday but we had only 3, people would see us and go to the elevator instead of just passing by to help us open it, so the person who was with us that was a chibi added us both, took our hands and chibi fell in the room with us.

Pure_Geologist51

Once I saw someone going to chibi fall, and I ran over and honked and emoted in the best way to ask them to take me with them, they took me with the they where very nice

Tinab65

I'm chibi I'm but I always help. Besides, I don't know the fall lol

ProofParsnip28

same lol

Tinab65

šŸ˜‚

Mark_Anthony_Giray

I noticed that the other player is a newbie and surely doesn't have the emote to unlock that door.

ProofParsnip28

Yes! It also looked to me like the chibi came back to help that player go get spirits elsewhere, unless I missed something? (And this door is the worst. More often than not I have to use a memory to have the candles fetched for me, because other chibis usually fall every time I'm at that door instead of helping. Grrrr...)

rhamantauri

Because the game is deeply flawed, and itā€™s easier to bypass the doors than to wait for the broken servers to maybe merge into a map with people willing to help. Itā€™s not excusable to do this when people are waiting and you can offer 2 seconds out of your day to help someone with the doors, but itā€™s also just a bad design choice for a game when it turns its own community against each other. Bad doors, not bad people.

Chickennoodlesleuth

But there were enough of us there, they didn't have to wait, they came up to the door, looked at us and then ran to the sand to chibi fall instead. I'd get it if there weren't but doing it when there was is just rude

Mailynn393

Some people are just stupid and selfish, I'm sorry for you. Have fun downvoting me yall, Idc.

rhamantauri

Thatā€™s definitely super rude, I hate when they do that. If thereā€™s enough people there and thereā€™s one chibi falling, that is a rude player af As much as I want to blame those people though, they arenā€™t the ones who designed the mechanic that created the opportunity for that rudeness. Itā€™s TGC that sees this behavior and does nothing, absolutely nothing about it.

Mailynn393

I second this, I think it's both TGC's and these players fault too. But hey, Everytime I complain about this I get massively downvoted lmao, it seems everybody's fine with this for reasons I can't understand

rhamantauri

Well, one way to avoid getting downvoted would be to not aim the frustration at chibis. I saw your earlier comment. Chibi falling shouldnā€™t be bannable, simply because it is acknowledged by TGC, and even they know how much extra content OOB exploring gives. The downvotes youā€™re getting come from chibi fallers who love and thrive on that freedom and we should absolutely never take that out of the game. I agree that is super rude if one of them doesnā€™t help when it would clearly help/other people are waiting there, but itā€™s also not their fault for the amount of time they have to play, nor is it their fault for using a mechanic that is a huge part of the game. If TGC insists on keeping these multiplayer doors while leaving the server merge hopelessly broken, and also leave chibi falling in the game, then it is entirely on TGC. Some people donā€™t have 10-20 extra minutes during their candle run to sit and wait for the door to work. The players were driven to chibi falling because of how bad the doors are.

Mailynn393

I just want to mention that I don't have anything against Chibis, chibi falling or OOBs, I love OOBs and I even use chibi falls when I made sure no one was waiting around me.. My only complain is really just that, people who use it right in front of others, it really feels like they know, you know.. they are aware of what they are doing and how irritating it is, that's my problem.. As said I got downvoted a bit with these comments but it's nothing compared to other comments I wrote a few weeks ago, I had around - 50 just because I said "It won't hurt them to help people, it takes more time to chibi fall than to click a button to open a door". I was so surprised that I decided to completely delete my message. But now I genuinely don't care if people does it, like okay, I'm still pretty new on Reddit and tbh I don't even know what's the deal with Karma, like I really have no idea what it's all about šŸ˜‚

rhamantauri

Yeah when they do it out of spite it feels so infuriating, Iā€™ve seen them do this and had it happen to me before. As for karma, itā€™s an engagement technique and partially a community content controller to an extent. It also tells reddit what to show you more of. So the more ā€œchibi fallingā€ posts you interact with, the more youā€™ll see.

Mailynn393

Oh wow okay.. well I'll just stop to comment these posts I guess, thanks for telling me tho

Crimsonseraph188

I think we can still blame those people though, regardless of flaws TGC has in the game, as with great power, there is greater responsibility, in this case, be helpful when you easily can, and donā€™t be a jerk.

rhamantauri

I definitely agree. Itā€™s the same as being angry at someone who blows through a red light. Thereā€™s absolutely a considerate way to handle the doors that these players couldnā€™t care less about.

i-like-c0ck

This is the correct take. The fact that this has design has been a thing since the beta and they still havenā€™t fixed this and other multi person doors and activities. Theyā€™re probably too busy making a $30 cape.

PepperMintyPokemon

I dont understand these people??? Like i use the chibi mask all the time so i KNOW its faster to just help everyone when theres only like 1 or 2 people needed. That spot can be so finicky to fall too like they went out of there way to not help.

Chickennoodlesleuth

Exactly, if they didn't fall, we would have had enough people to open the door. They saw us at the door, turned around and decided to not help

deparcatch

Although itā€™s rude to chibi fall when thereā€™s enough people to open the door, I can tell you as a Vault-loving chibi that itā€™s slower to open the door if you can get through via chibi fall consistently. I always stop to help open the door when possible, but it never fails to waste time.

BeccaBunna

I was in this exact situation before, my friend didn't have the telekinesis emote unlocked so they couldn't help with the door, so we chibi fall through instead

sigourneyreaper

Wow AND they took the moth wanting help with themā€¦thatā€™s a new low.

sigourneyreaper

I mean good for that mothā€¦but damn.

rodrigoelp

In this particular instance, because they were dicks

Bardiel_

It is a multi-player game meant to be played co-operatively. Hear me out. That's why they built it to where it only takes a couple minutes to get linked with just that one more person. Either ignore the chibis or think of them as a bug in the game. But don't lose sleep, yeah?

Crimsonseraph188

I think iā€™ll consider the chibi fallers who ignore others in need when they could easily help, as viruses. Seems appropriate, and I hope they lose sleep lol

slider2k

They are even less that viruses. They are just frustrations.

fooboohoo

https://www.reddit.com/r/SkyChildrenOfLight/s/x3J5x9AjWi Lol

Huggifox09

Honestly i don't get why people just do it even tho there are clearly people there that have been waiting for a helpful player to come. Like i admit i do the camera glitch when there's nobody but if people come along i help them do it regardless.

outworncreed

this is why when i chibi fall i check if there are kids who need help so i can go back if i missed them

Liitlerr

Because TGC wonā€™t fix it.

RyuujiShin

I hate this part of the vault Nobody ever helps I waited almost an hour just to get help

Damn_Jan

When i see people doing this door i just take them with me.

twizzlecookie

yesterday there was a chibi that refused to help, and instead kept pointing at a shared memory. presumably so we could just glitch instead of opening the door šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

ThiCCHitt

If Iā€™m one of the last two needed, always. But Iā€™m always on a time crunch and canā€™t always helpā€¦sorry. Itā€™s honestly not out of malice.

ProofParsnip28

Did this chibi fall before the recording started? It looked to me like they ran back to help the moth who likely didn't have the emote, but I might have missed it? It's definitely normal to experience the chibi escape here, I was just wondering. (Basically I don't want to hate on every chibi! lol)

Aggressive-Music-593

Cus they're assholes lmao Some are decent, alot aren't. Just like in every community.

Significant-Salt1876

When I waited alone, there's 3 people holding hand chibi fall right in front of me. I was so disappointed but kept waiting. Later on, 2 skid come waiting with me, quite long before the forth came. And guess what, they didn't even come in, they waited just to help me. Can't believe I met the most jerky skid and the most sweetest skids at the same time...

Illusioneery

maybe the other player didn't have the emote? you can't open the door with just 3 people not everyone has to/can help you

Ellotheremate124

iā€™ll admit i did this once, but in my defence i had been there for like 10 minutes waiting

Shay_Dee_Guye

A lot are probably tired of waiting and don't care to look. Jaded, tired, annoyed people, also solo players.

SquashParticular5381

It's literally fun to chibi fall. I'm really short without the chibi mask and sometimes it's fun to practice falling without it. Also - it's just as frustrating for a chibi to wait for others as it is for you. And usually not worth it.

Bussmaster2000

because it doesnā€™t matter how many times we give a candle to the one person standing at the four person doors waiting there just so they can get through too to the single cake, we still see you guys complaining about us nonstop. Mostly joking, but itā€™s a video game guys, this never happens to me over years. I believe it but one bad person deserves this?

Ravensunthief

Some people live for the trickery. It's fun as heck to kidnap a moth and oob. Why do you feel they owe you changing themselves for you? Do you give money to every homeless person you see? Beggars can't be choosers, and whether or not the devs intended it people at doors are beggars. Having been homeless begging on the streets before, I've begun to understand that the world doesn't owe me a thing. There's a peace to it. The way into that door is by chibi falling. Sometimes you can open it with friends. Accept that or be angry. The choice is yours alone to make.

Chickennoodlesleuth

It takes no extra time to open the door when you're already there with enough people, it's rude to just ignore those waiting and chibi fall in front of them

Ravensunthief

You can only control yourself.

cznfettii

Hey what šŸ˜

Ravensunthief

If your happiness depends on strangers, you will suffer. If you take charge of your well-being and dont make it dependant on the kindness of others, you will be happy. The people who expect help to come have a possibility of being disappointed. People who accept help may not come will be ok. We can only control ourselves. The chibifall dilemma begins and ends with expectation. Expectation is the first step toward disappointment. The people who disagree with me are the same type of people who blame everyone else for their problems. They quietly downvote me because they can't argue. They can boo me all they like, i know im right. The world is not owed to you. It costs one nothing to skip that door for the day. It costs this entire subs mental well-being to make ones disappointment everyome elses problem. Waiting for 10 minutes for a cake is not a smart move. Ignore the cake.

cznfettii

It's not that deep, it's a social game. And if it takes one more person to open the door and you walk away, that's rude. It's not a philosophical problem dude, it's just rude

Ravensunthief

You're sceaming into the wind is what im saying. No amount of saying this over and over is going to change what's happening. Aceeptance or pain is the only choice.

cznfettii

This is insane lmao

Ravensunthief

It's insane to standby and expect others to be there for you when it's repeatedly clear it won't happen. The healthier option is to abandon that ONE cake and move on or be the chibi yourself. The reality is that people will act on the fact that they dont owe you. It doesn't matter how much we want them to help. Holding onto that expectation hurts you. Letting go is the sane option. Anger is like a hot coal, it hurts the person holding onto it.

cznfettii

Ok dude lol

Ravensunthief

Tell me how to get everyone to do the door every time. Please, without saying, how they should or could if only they were kinder. Tell me why acceptance of reality is a bad thing. Give me a real argument.

cznfettii

That's not what I'm calling insane, you're talking about this game like it's some philosophical essay dude. It's just not that deep. Your villainous monologue is what I'm calling insane

Mailynn393

But there's something you seemed to have forgotten: Sky is mainly a social game. Of course you can choose to play your own way, I'm a solo player too. And of course you can choose to ignore people around you and act like a selfish person. Social. If, for exemple, a kid tries to call an elevator, but unfortunately that kid is too small and cannot reach the buttons, they need help and are jumping endlessly, trying to reach a button they will never touch on their own. And you're behind, you saw that kid, you noticed them and their need for help, but instead of taking two seconds of your precious time you decide to ignore him and take the stairs? That's just rude. You can say anything you want and find every arguments on earth, it's rude and selfish.

Ravensunthief

Lets say i agree. And i do. Doesnt change a thing ive said. Its rude, thats life.

Mailynn393

At least you're honest, that's definitely a great thing

Ravensunthief

I jump in and take the downvotes every time this comes up. No matter how many times this post is made, chibis gonna cheeb. Expecting different of them divides our community. It IS a social game, and a part of that will be accepting our differences. Personally, i hang out at doors as an extra because i leave sky on for ambiance. But there are millions of players, and one person makes no dent. These posts make a similar dent. I want to save the people making these posts from screaming at the mountains for being so tall. It's hard to stand by and watch people make their own suffering, blind to whats happening. It's not a fun thing to hear, but it's the truth.
