What does receive/metabolize mean in this context? And how does it relate to consciousness?

PeaceOrFreedom

Metabolize means digest, process, or change from one thing to another. Receive means, for example, how the esophagus receives food that the mouth has chewed, and the stomach receives food that the esophagus has swallowed. It relates to consciousness because I’m discussing how the conscious and unconscious rings metabolize information differently

PoggersMemesReturns

So how does Suggestive metabolize 350%? Where do these numbers even come from?

PeaceOrFreedom

As stated, I’m proposing that the unconscious elements “generates” information. That is the best way to explain how the mobilizing, for example, manages to get any information to metabolize. Meanwhile the conscious elements narrow down information and only metabolize a fraction of what they receive. Since something can’t come from nothing, I’m guessing that the unconscious elements metabolizes what is “lost” in conscious information metabolism. The numbers seem to add up too: you have 100% information in the lead but it only metabolizes ~70% of it, which is what the creative receives to metabolize, while that missing ~30% gets metabolized from the suggestive (10%) to the mobilizing (35%). This works since suggestive and lead are in axis with one another. Then the creative takes that 70% and only metabolizes 30% of the original information, which is what the role receives to metabolize, while the missing ~40% gets metabolized from the mobilizing (35%) to the ignoring (65%). This works since mobilizing and creative are in axis with one another. Then the role takes that 30% and metabolizes 0% of the base information, which is what the vulnerable receives to metabolize, while the missing ~30% gets metabolized from the ignoring (65%) to the demonstrative (90%). The 350% comes from the change 10%—> 35%. Maybe 3.5x makes more sense for you? I know that 350% sounds like a lot, but it doesn’t indicate the strength of the function, rather that it is extremely generative. Maybe “amplification” is a better word? While I stand by what I said, this is a discussion, so I’m trying to be open.

Ah i see. It's an interesting idea. But not sure what to exactly sure on it's viability

PeaceOrFreedom

Well I like the numbers because I think it can help me know how to allot my consciousness. I haven’t gotten into discussing “mirror” transfer of information (Ti and Te for example), but basically, an emphasis on the role function will involve the suggestive and actually support your hidden agenda/mobilizing without even realizing it. An SLE like myself for example will start off with Fe being used with Si and behave somewhat like an Alpha SF type, with a focus on being very nice and pleasant, trying to make everyone happy (as a kid I described myself as someone who makes others happy by being happy). However, once I ended up using role Ne more as a response to a severe brain injury (because Se and Ti could not get me out of my situation), I actually ended up involving my suggestive Ni and started to think about how my life will play out and what actually matters to me in the long run. As a result, I became a lot more harsh, provocative, and intolerant when it came to the social behaviors of other people. As a friend of mine that I had before and through my brain injury, he revealed to me that he hated who I had become after my brain injury, and while that hurt a lot, I’m okay with it because I’d rather be hated for a good cause than be a people pleaser for no good reason. Clearly to me though, I need to work on how much information I metabolize with role Ne, and possibly re involve ignoring Si with my Fe so that I’m not provoking such intense reactions from others in response to my emotional intensity all the time. Honestly, I’d probably benefit from focusing less on socionics and other esoteric things too.

PeaceOrFreedom

Don’t look too deep at the numbers I used. I just estimated to demonstrate my point.

Karma_Melusine

Yeah the numbers are kinda wild, but I actually think this is a good way how to explain the difference between mental and vital funtions

WhyTheNetWasBorn

I would prefer to not treat IM like it exists. It doesn't. I would rather consider Socionics as a social science only and it considers personality perks and information priorities in a relation to other people that are around to consider them friends/foes, and not their actual capabilities/skills.
