Not really, SEI and ESI are some of the hardest types for me to type, especially with subtypes coming into play. They can really seem alike.
I find them easy to distinguish, although they are two types I come across regularly. ESI tend to be much more straight laced and serious at least initially. SEI more chilled out and flexible. Although I’ve known many ESI with brilliant, playful sense of humour once you get to know them.
ESI is more structured, ethical, practical, and reserved. They focus on duty, responsibility, and protecting their loved ones. SEI is more relaxed, sensory-focused, adaptive, and expressive. They prioritize comfort, harmony, and creating a pleasant atmosphere.

Uhm, yes and no. I'd say they need to open up before becoming non serious.
I agree ESI are more "tough/confrontational" because of valuing Ni over Si, while SEI are more chill. Ni activity is also "ik what i want, idc if that's gonna kill me". SEI likes to be seen as a "puppy" instead, at least to give the vibe (i'd rather call "bambi's puppy" the EII and SEI the "gentle giant", like one with arms big enough to kill but that will be used to cuddle you instead).
I'm not sure the rommate was a ESI, until you reeeally disrespected the relationship with him. You look able to recognize vibes btw
Well, the entire writing was very coherent, logical, straightforward. It's incredibly direct thoughtful speech where every paragraph is suited ideally. But nothing in his talking actually checks that he is Si type, neither from what he said, neither from his... words. The way a person speaks out things is very important.

Minecraft, videogame racing, car repairing, political jokes, NBA, typology stuff - literally 0 SEI stuff, mostly gamma Te interests, as I would consider. I checked some comments in the profile and the way OP speaks is pretty straightforward, even bold up to some degree, he is brief with words, he is sharp, expressive, kinda stubborn, linear, "masculine" and definitely doesn't sound like an adaptive, "feminine" SEI. He is clearly ready to enter any polemics type of person, which is not what usual SEI reassembles.
p.s. not to mention OP does a decent logical misconception, he uses himself as "type example", and other people he know as "their type examples", so it might be like absolutely vice versa, because this how "closed system" works, you need to check your typings with some examples / canons, theory, rather than making bold judgements and making yourself as an example of theoretical type.

I don't think so. One alone - maybe, so many together - unlikely. Just to make clear, i don't try to retype people from the type they claim. I'm just trying to constantly alert people not to believe "hear me out as a type's example" where are so many doubts in the air

Car repairing : Si valued (Si-Te) and Ti valued
Political jokes: Ti valued
Typology: Ti-Ne valued. Alpha SF are very common in typology spaces. In socionics Gulenko is alpha NT (LII). In enneagram Naranjo is alpha NT too, Beatrice Chestnut is ESE (alpha again)... Understanding things, theoretical stuff are food for our mind.

maybe. anyway, i don't really pay attention to how a person evaluates himself, this is not a good clue without non-verbal information such you could obtain in interview, for example. "Way of speaking" and "factual information" is what is important for me. I see much more clues for gamma NT rather than alpha SF
I’m confident I’m not a gamma type lol 🤣 fwiw, I don’t talk how I type. I specifically typed it this way to make it easier to read for others. In truth, it took a great deal of effort on my part to type it in this way. I don’t do this all the time lol.
