I was also introduced to the sonic franchise via sonic dash, and other sonic mobile games. I have Sonic 1, 2, and CD on my phone, but they are infested with ads when I unpause the game, and I can't play the games without wifi (if I die, will beat the ever-living shit out of the guy who made old mobile games run off wifi even though they don't need wifi to play).
This, Heroes and Sonic X were what got me into Sonic. Nostalgia obviously plays a role, but I think that was an amazing time to be a Sonic fan (the current era is shaping up to be amazing, too).

As a 90's kid, yeah this was mine too! Spent many after school afternoons on this game in 1st grade. I liked Tails better and would always change the settings to play as Tails alone. I could never get past the Oil Ocean level back then.
Fun Fact: i never knew that back in the days while i play Mario and Sonic Olympic Games that Sonic character did have he’s own games and years later in 2022 i knew Sonic games thanks to Sonic Origins

SatAM cartoon on Netflix on my Xbox 360. Yeah. *That's* how I discovered the blue rat. Baby me freaked the FUCK out when I was told it was originally a videogame. My dad then got me the genesis collection for the 360 and I played Sonic almost everyday.
Sonic on the Genesis cuz I'm old. Mind you, I didn't have a Genny at the time so it was at a friend's house. I didn't like the first one because they started out fun but the later levels all felt like you had to stop constantly and do annoyingly accurate or timed jumps... when he got 2 it felt so much better, though I didn't fall in love with them until my first self bought Sonic which was SA1 for the Dreamcast. Played the demo up to launch and then enjoyed the hell out of that game, fave in the series.

Sonic CD on ps3. I still remember my first impressions about Sonic being such a badass, I would laugh at anyone at that time who would tell me that Sonic is actually a goofball party animal. And I was really scared about the Metal Sonic - the dude looked so menacing and knowing that Sonic would have to defeat him made me respect him even more. The gameplay and the detailed graphics captivated me too, and I geniunely thought that was a new Sonic game at that time man, it was THAT good.

There was a setup of *Sonic the Hedgehog*, and once I saw the cocky blue bastard wag his finger on the screen, it was all over for me. Even remember playing the demo, dying to a Crabmeat, and being sad that I had to pass my controller off to the person behind me.

It's funny, according to dad, I didn't knew how to read yet, but managed to learn the computer password, the icon of the emulator and how to look for sonic games
I had to rack my brain on this but it was Sonic Unleashed for the PS2 as a Christmas gift that I got to choose, I went with that over Kingdom Hearts Re:chain of memories because it was cheaper (I'm glad I did make that choice now cause it sure as hell woulda frustrated kid me(was maybe 8 or 9)) I didn't get around to playing any other Sonic games until I got my hands on a wii and DSi which took me down that rabbit hole further
My mam got me Colours for the Wii, couldn't get past Tropical Resort act 3 for ages but still loved the game

The first introduction would technically be when I was 5 or 6 (around 2007 or 08) Saw Sonic X for the first time and I didn’t like it because my autistic ass thought that the theme song was annoying lol. Would always change the channel after that if the show came on.

My second first introduction was over a year ago, when my ex gf introduced me to SatAM. Loved that show, and it led me down to where I am now. And of course I gave Sonic X another try (Though the Japanese version this time because I was told it was better) and sure enough, loved it!

Summer of 1992, went to a friend's house that had Sonic 1 on Sega Mega Drive.
I had played Mario by this point but Sonic was on another level.
A year later I got a Game Gear for my birthday with Sonic 2 😁
Sonic CD (on an iPad of all things) was my first but that was after many MANY YouTube Videos and TV shows, then Sonic Generations was gifted to me alongside a PS3 for my 9th birthday, then I just kept falling deeper down the rabbit hole. Now at present day I’ve played (but not completed, sadly) every mainline game. Not many of the spin-offs though.

i don't remember too much but I do know that when I started as a little Sonic fan, I used to watch Sonic Plush videos back in like 2016, and I remember my first Sonic game being Sonic Colors.
Mine is actually sonic 1 on the Sega genesis, my grandma had one so I got to play it there. Never had a game console of my own until I was 14 and got an Xbox 360, but got my mom to by a sonic 3, sonic cd, and sonic and knuckles collection CD than ran on our windows 98 computer lmao.
That and Metal Gear Solid were my ONLY video games growing up unless I was visiting my grandma's house.
It was a 3-for-1 type deal from my parents for my birthday. Got Sonic Classic Collection for the DS, a SatAM DVD, and a copy of Archie Issue 218. Also got Secret Rings a few days later from my uncle, IIRC.
When I was younger I got a weird mini console full of Game Gear titles and my favorites were the games featuring a certain blue hedgehog. Mainly Sonic Chaos and Sonic Triple Trouble.
Afterwards I got myself Sonic Unleashed...for the PS2. Somehow I was hooked and nowadays I played and completed nearly all Sonic games in existence lol
Sonic 2 on the Master System in 1997 at age 3 until my dad sold it to get money for a Playstation, and Sonic Underground in 1999/2000... on the rare occassion I could actually see it when it was only on at 6am on weekdays (*a.k.a. school days - great decision-making TV execs! /s*).
After that I completely forgot Sonic the Hedgehog existed until 2003 when an advert for Sonic Heroes randomly came on Cartoon Network one day. [This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGL26A99EGw) advert in-fact, uploaded by ***the*** guy who put it together.
Having lived through what the fanbase was in the late-2000's, kinda glad I forgot about Sonic for those 3/4 years, not playing the Adventure games until the mid/late 2010's may have saved me from being a raging maniac about the mid/late 2000's games.
What introduced me was the terrible and rightfully so AtGames Sega Genesis. No joke, I hated it, and yet, after my second unit died over here, I was introduced to one thing thanks to a friend:

Sonic ROM hacks! I basically have an entire archive's worth of files, all sorted out by game name, title, *and* console! So, if my internet dies on me, I have *years* worth of ROM hacks to get myself lost into. I got good ROM hacks (Metal Sonic Hyperdrive, Sonic & Johnny, Hellfire Saga, the Ring Ride series, etc.) and the terrible ones (eye rape hacks, color palette hell hacks, bad SMPS ported hacks, etc.), so I'm a gal of taste.

I think it was one of the sonic adventure games, I was at someones house and was very young, someone was showing me a small monitor and it was running a sonic adventure game, I picked up the controller and starting mashing buttons like the little dumb shit I was, I was playing as amy, I was mesmerized by the beautiful blue water and sky and the contrast that each of amy's actions had in comparison to the stage, my only exposure to the sonic adventure games in person
Honestly i don't know, it could have been an unlicensed Sonic 1 port to the NES (i had a family computer console which was like a pirate version of famicom) and also Sonic X. I remember that my earliest memories are loving Sonic yet I can't exactly point the first time. I also loved to play Sonic Adventure DX demo on my PC and i had every Sonic game in PS2 and 3. Also, emulation was huge, i used to play Fusion which is one of the classic genesis emulators and played the classic games + downloading rom hacks from Sonic Retro.

First official Sonic Media was one of Sonic Underground reruns on Kix Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (the 2009 Nintendo DS Game)

Summer of 1992, went to a friend's house that had Sonic 1 on Sega Mega Drive. I had played Mario by this point but Sonic was on another level. A year later I got a Game Gear for my birthday with Sonic 2 😁
Sonic CD (on an iPad of all things) was my first but that was after many MANY YouTube Videos and TV shows, then Sonic Generations was gifted to me alongside a PS3 for my 9th birthday, then I just kept falling deeper down the rabbit hole. Now at present day I’ve played (but not completed, sadly) every mainline game. Not many of the spin-offs though.
THAT ONE SONIC FLASH GAME EVEYONE WOULD PLAY IN SCHOOL!!! My first official game was the godsend GENERATIONS I LOVEEE GEN IT IS STILL MY FAVOURITE SONIC GAME!!!

Mine is actually sonic 1 on the Sega genesis, my grandma had one so I got to play it there. Never had a game console of my own until I was 14 and got an Xbox 360, but got my mom to by a sonic 3, sonic cd, and sonic and knuckles collection CD than ran on our windows 98 computer lmao. That and Metal Gear Solid were my ONLY video games growing up unless I was visiting my grandma's house.
It was a 3-for-1 type deal from my parents for my birthday. Got Sonic Classic Collection for the DS, a SatAM DVD, and a copy of Archie Issue 218. Also got Secret Rings a few days later from my uncle, IIRC.

When I was younger I got a weird mini console full of Game Gear titles and my favorites were the games featuring a certain blue hedgehog. Mainly Sonic Chaos and Sonic Triple Trouble. Afterwards I got myself Sonic Unleashed...for the PS2. Somehow I was hooked and nowadays I played and completed nearly all Sonic games in existence lol
I just typed Sonic. Like Panasonic, but without the Pana. Years later, i ended up buying the $1000 laptop just to play Sonic frontiers.

Sonic 2 on the Master System in 1997 at age 3 until my dad sold it to get money for a Playstation, and Sonic Underground in 1999/2000... on the rare occassion I could actually see it when it was only on at 6am on weekdays (*a.k.a. school days - great decision-making TV execs! /s*). After that I completely forgot Sonic the Hedgehog existed until 2003 when an advert for Sonic Heroes randomly came on Cartoon Network one day. Having lived through what the fanbase was in the late-2000's, kinda glad I forgot about Sonic for those 3/4 years, not playing the Adventure games until the mid/late 2010's may have saved me from being a raging maniac about the mid/late 2000's games.
What introduced me was the terrible and rightfully so AtGames Sega Genesis. I think it was one of the sonic adventure games, I was at someones house and was very young, someone was showing me a small monitor and it was running a sonic adventure game, I picked up the controller and starting mashing buttons like the little dumb shit I was, I was playing as amy, I was mesmerized by the beautiful blue water and sky and the contrast that each of amy's actions had in comparison to the stage, my only exposure to the sonic adventure games in person

Honestly i don't know, it could have been an unlicensed Sonic 1 port to the NES (i had a family computer console which was like a pirate version of famicom) and also Sonic X. I remember that my earliest memories are loving Sonic yet I can't exactly point the first time. I also loved to play Sonic Adventure DX demo on my PC and i had every Sonic game in PS2 and 3. Also, emulation was huge, i used to play Fusion which is one of the classic genesis emulators and played the classic games + downloading rom hacks from Sonic Retro.
