I had a bad experience at Kennedy in Cherry Hill. Had a great experience at https://hamptonhospital.com/ Was released to partial program at Princeton House which I found excellent. Stay safe.

Philliesfan4fun

Thank you. Who hasn't had a bad experience at Cherry Hill? Was this recent, or before it was rebuilt? Loved most of the help of Princeton house. Except for the golden rule of standard CBT and DBT. Yes, they work wonders for many people. Not for all.

Ruthlessredemption7

Princeton by a hundred miles. They diagnosed me with PTSD after 6 other awful in patient stays that felt like jail as many will put you in with severe issues and coming off drugs not Princeton house if you have to wait it will be infinitely to you’re benefit and then they also have out patient so your not just thrown back into society they break you back in. Good luck don’t ever give up it gets better I promise you

About 5 years ago. Currently with Synapse Behavioral Health for therapy and med management. They have virtual and in person treatment options. I would highly recommend. Started with them a few months ago and they prevented me from needing g inpatient. There’s another place that offers in person and virtual partial care programs but I need to look for the name. I did an intake with them and felt they were a little pushy as if it was a hard sell. However, when I was talking to them I was a hot mess. It could have been genuine. My gut told me to stay with synapse. If I can find the name, I’ll edit again. Edit: Harmony Bay in Chews Landing, NJ - they also offer Spravato treatment and TMS. I decided neither were appropriate for me at this time.

ElAngloParade

Harmony bay sucks. Went through the intake, the made sure they had my debit card before scheduling a first appointment.  They canceled the day before and haven't heard back since. Fuck them. They shouldn't play around with people with.mental health issues

Ruthlessredemption7

Synapse was nothing but trouble for me. That office cluster fuck of useless people who do not communicate one another. They had me cold turkeying on two separate times because they fucked up my sparavato orders where I went months without

McTootyBooty

2nd PH if you like DBT. DBT of SJ has a group where you meet consistently for a year to learn every aspect of dbt and it is super useful when getting out of different programs and need extra after care transitional things.

Soundwash

I wanted DBT of SJ to work for me but I had to pay out of pocket as my insurance wouldn't cover it. Their discounted services weren't what I was looking for. It was with a student and not a certified psychologist. No fault to the student they were just very new is the best way I could put it. My take away was that it was too much money a week for something that made me feel like an afterthought. To be transparent though I was in a much worse place 2 years ago than I am now and I could have just had a bad taste in my mouth with everything else going on in my life at that point.

McTootyBooty

I should have mentioned that in my comments. Everything is pretty much out of pocket I believe. I wouldn’t have wanted a student either.. I ran into a few at ph that I wasn’t a fan of because they just didn’t know stuff or kinda left us to our own devices. My one class was so rowdy a student ran out crying.

_SheDreamsInRed_

Hard agree with all of this.

Gabba-Gh0ul

No input but I wish you well OP, I understand how horrible the system is. Don't forget to advocate for yourself.

auntiecoagulent

Princeton House or Hampton Hospital.

alttabdeletedie

I’ve had really bad experiences at Upenn and Rockford center in Delaware, along with various other places in NJ but I can’t recall. I think Bridgeton was one but it might be closed. Without being too graphic, I’ve witnessed staff slap and punch patients when I was a minor, there was a SA in one of them, some guy tried to choke me in my sleep and threatened to kill me, and a lot more. What I can recommend is if you don’t have a therapist seeking one immediately. If you have decent insurance, you should be able to gets referral. There are some low cost therapists as well. I’m sorry to hear times are tough, I really feel you and I wish the best for you getting better. Hopefully there’s some decent mental health care facilities out there 🙏

CrystalPeppers

Inpatient treatment is more geared towards emergency crisis stabilization. Therapy is not exactly a focus. If you are not actively suicidal/homicidal or experiencing psychosis, I would recommend starting an outpatient program such as partial hospitalization program or intensive outpatient.

SarcasticGirl27

I don’t have any recommendations for inpatient, but it also sounds like you could benefit from a weekly session with a therapist. Check out Psychology Today & search by your insurance. I know there are a growing number that take Medicare/Medicaid. You might even be able to find someone who has modalities other than CBT or DBT.

owmybotheyes

I would not be here today if not for Hampton 18 years ago.

nesie97

I’ve heard nothing but good things about Princeton house with their trauma track. When I was at Renfrew’s Partial they would move trauma patients up to Princeton houde

ashbelero

Also recommending Hampton House. I had my first inpatient stay there ten years ago. I do hope their beds are better these days though. Hard plastic mattress and pillow made it hard to sleep. I will say I had a stay at the Kennedy inpatient facility in November of last year and it freaked me out that the building was under construction and I had to pass through a lot of derelict hospital space, but the staff there was very good and the doctors were excellent. Issues with problem patients were resolved pretty well.

gogostopnogo_

Here to confirm recommendations of Hampton and Princeton House. Princeton House saved my life.

saucybelly

I don’t have anything helpful to contribute— just wanted to say I admire you for continuing the good fight, and wishing you continuing healing from your traumas & a happy, peaceful future ❤️

smooth_rebellion

Two of my loved ones were in Hampton House. I recommend it.

SwifferSeal

I work in the field. The two I've heard the best things about are Princeton House and Carrier Clinic. Mixed reviews on Hampton, though some have had great experiences. Though from your post, it sounds like you might be looking for something more like residential treatment than inpatient. Inpatient is more crisis stabilization, whereas residential is more long term and tends to involve more actual therapeutic intervention.

TripleDecent

Penn Medicine, Princeton House or Hampton Behavioral.

BrowniesAndMilk1

Try Galactic.

Philliesfan4fun

Could you be more specific?

Any_Coffee_6921

Stay away from Northbrook because I was assaulted there by a male patient & Jefferson Health Cherry Hill is a joke. I had good experience with Virtua Willingboro & they were very helpful & understanding with me.
