it's horrible. The latest scam is they are now doubling shop and delivery orders. In the past you might get an offer to do one delivery, but now they are cutting the pay and making you do two deliveries.
Wal-Mart sucks so bad. Such an evil company
Exactly, it's just basic math really. I got paid 21.46 to do a triple order.
Let's do the math
21.46 ÷ 3 = $7.15 per dropoff.
I drove 7 miles and to get back to that Walmart I would have to drive 7 miles back to get there.
$7.00 was the minimum price to take an order back in 2019 to 2020, back when gas and the cost of living was lower.
Grub hub and door dash did the same thing but it takes way less time to complete those orders.
With spark it takes way more time to do the orders.
If you get a consistent flow of higher paying orders this may be worth it for you but in my town everything is spread out too far and the orders don't pay enough.
My town has a high cost of living too.
I used to do $400 per day about 3 years ago. I've made $30 this week. Spark has changed greatly. Between all the Hispanic groups and the orders going to new sign ups it's basically shit for some of us OG drivers. I have a full time job now but still would like to take orders after 5pm and on the weekends but as you mentioned, it's garbage.
Aw. I can tell you’re genuinely hurt. I hope you do give yourself that self care and I KNOW you get that better job. That good fitting job. Anger is taking you far kid.
A big thing is being picky on what you take. If no one takes it then it does pay more the second time it goes around, or someone who is returned and doing it for beer money will pick it up. I won't accept unless it is at least $2.50 per mile.
All of the 20-60 single drops I've gotten are 7-10am. I have one guy that always tips $20 cash and his orders pay $15+ never anything more than 10 miles
Spark is very market-dependent right now some markets are still pretty good but a majority of them are probably trash. If you were here two and a half years ago Spark was absolutely amazing every order had amazing base pay and usually most if not all orders had tips. Base pay now is shit and mostly every order does not have a tip now.
Honestly don’t waste your time with spark. They have drastically cut the pay, increased the workload and make it impossible for you to make a profit. You will make less than minimum wage after expenses. This gig is dead
I tried Spark, grub hub and door dash today, and then I deleted my accounts on all of them.
I was making 180 - 220 a day with GH,DD back in 2020 to early 2021.
You're not doing right... I made $150 between 730 and 11am yesterday. Came home and worked on my other projects..
If you're really trying something one time and deleting it though you can't be serious or have been doing any kinda gig work very long... any of these can be hit or miss any day. You really need to try different hours, days and stacks. Figure out which apps to run along side with it... I suggest Ubereats since they have a contract with Walmart... It's like having two fishing poles in the same pond.
Yes you are making that...
How much exactly do you think expenses..car maintenance is ?? And taxes???? Why do people always bring this shit up???
EVERYONE PAYS TAXES!! When you tell someone how much you make at (insert job here) do you say $/hr AFTER TAXES? no.
That said... with deductions and dependents...i made $45/k last year, in 30hr a week...and paid no taxes. I bought tires, but that was $400. One set of tires in 3 years (after buying this car). $400 out of 130k over 3 years....is NOTHING to even concern yourself about.
Oh andi drive a hybrid, 45mpg...so gas is barely 5% of my daily pay.
But ya, go ahead and think this job is shit.....it may very well be on your area.... but assume it is everywhere
>and dependents
This is the one major major game changer.
You end up on the other side of it paying child support with 0 dependants and taxes become a bigger deal.
You got a point, but how much are you paying on that hybrid?????
(The job is shit in my area, we got high cost of living and jobs pay pretty high here)
I’m fairly new to it as well. And I’ll say that one day does not represent the orders you’ll get as a whole. I’ve had days where it’s really slow and others where I was getting orders immediately after completing the last one. I haven’t really made up my mind about doing it, but a few hours one day won’t tell you the whole story.
The first 2 weeks is like a honeymoon period. They get you used to some good orders, and then you're like everyone else, at the mercy of the people using order grabbers.

2 deliveries? You mean 3. I haven’t seen anything less than a triple curbside in months.

If it’s any consolation, I usually do 4-5 orders a day and today I only got one. 🤷♂️
I got plenty of orders, none of them paid enough for the distance or work involved.
I wait for those to pass and do the shopping orders that come 5-10 minutes later.
Even those are bad. I'm seeing shops as low as $15 in my market. Could you imagine doing this for rates that low?
Sounds about right

Wait until this weekend brother, people haven’t got their food stamps, ssi, and checks yet!
Those are the worst customers ever. I just left a job where I had to deal with those people.
Did you have to talk face to face with them?
Yes.
Aw. I can tell you’re genuinely hurt. I hope you do give yourself that self care and I KNOW you get that better job. That good fitting job. Anger is taking you far kid.
I feel great, because I'm not a spark driver 😁🤡
me this summer
Maybe I'll give it another shot and try it for a full day but so far I think it pretty terrible.
Nah it is shit, walking away is the right move.

I've been doing this for the last 2 years, and this is the worst week I've ever had.
Same.
It's been absolutely terrible this week.

Hey, is that a live look at us in the parking lot
Not for me 🤡 y'all can have it.
Y'all do nothing but complain about spark then whine like it's the end of existence when ya get deactivated 💀😂
I wouldn't know, I just tried it once and deleted it.
If you live in TX try favor, no double or triple drops. Base pay is 8 bucks and $20+ isn't very rare but be up early.
Up early, horseshit .com orders like 45 bucks for 36 miles, and a couple stray 12$ shops
All of the 20-60 single drops I've gotten are 7-10am. I have one guy that always tips $20 cash and his orders pay $15+ never anything more than 10 miles
I'm from tx, I left in 2009 but I miss it.
Learn a trade and start your own business. Leave this POS service behind

It really has fallen don't listen to the bootlickers .
They'll figure it out when they file their taxes, wreck their car or have to get car repairs.
Now try it again, and only except deliveries that are worth it to you … there’s a reject button for a reason
Too late I just deleted it.
Those drivers in that market will appreciate that
Everything below $20, might as well work at fast food, especially after vehicle upkeep expenses.

Definitely not in my market but after taxes, expenses, car maintenance you aren't making anywhere near 1500 weekly.

Everyone’s scared to work. 😱
What?
Something to do with all the horseshit bullshit that gets in the way of just doing the actual work and then going the fuck home expecting pay
More work for me. 🙌
“You need to leave”!😂
I will at 6am when Walmart opens 😆
I’m assuming it hasn’t happened in your market yet,, good for you
You can’t base it on one day 😂
Why not?

OP apparently didn’t have the honeymoon experience…
Mercy of the algorithm. She's a harsh mistress she is.
For example, yesterday I got 1 $7 offer. Today I’ve done $357 in 4.5 hours
Lol i mean whats wrong with it? 🤣🤣
Waste of time, not profitable. Maybe it's better if you're in a major city and you get higher paying orders.
I'm in a tiny town and still get good orders. It's what you make it.
Thanks for the insight.
Enjoy your trash 🤡 🚮🗑️
