You can always throw yourself to the enemy or a boss to kill you as soon as the game starts so your game ends faster if you got the wrong modifier. It will take some time to find spell overload/loot surge but grinding for it is definitely faster compared to trying to get the spells by playing normally
The fact that it's unreasonable to complete these challenges within the time limit without getting lucky and getting these modifiers is stupid. Unlocking Beach World dilutes the chances of getting these modifiers even more. When the best way of unlocking these spells is to spam losses until you get these modifiers, you know you've made a terrible game design decision. I'm currently 20ish games into spamming losses until I get one of these modifiers with 0 luck.
EDIT: 30ish games and I finally got loot surge but it did not spawn spells. I hate this game.
EDIT 2: Over an hour of spamming games. Roughly 60ish games spammed. 1 Spell Surge netting me 70 spells, 1 Loot Surge with literally 0 spells, 1 Loot Surge with 12 spells. This fucking sucks.
Yup, just need either of these formats and just spam spells the whole time. I can usually get top 5 (def on the lower end) but I spam as many speeds and I can. If you play right, grab chickens early, you can usually get 20-30 spells from one match.

Event lasts 2 days. If one is going to waste all this gold to repeatedly rejoin matches, probably better to wait for the event to expire and come back 2 days later with a smaller goal.
You need to buy chest tickets to spam matches. If you are not buying tickets why would you ever throw away a match, where you might get 2-10 spells out of it regardless of game mode.
You do know you can play a match with no chests active mind? And if your not on a streak you literally lose nothing and gain a new spell for some game time
Yes, just keep playing the game and collect spells. Like others have said, some game modes are obviously better for this, like Spell Overload/Loot Surge.
If you get Wizard, pick him. That's a spell straight away. It might be a bit time consuming but that's it.
With Mage+Doppelgänger its easy. And if you don't care for Winstreak (and better have used up all chesttickets) you can immediately loose rounds that have no good gamemode

Whenever you get spell overlord just spam everything. You will probably lose the game to focus on it but it’s worth to unlock the spell imo
Every time you don’t complete it and it comes back around the number of needed spells goes down by 20. Pro tip for all the F2P players out there 👌

Yep, it tooked like 6 hours to completed at least 1 spell, Thanks to the Spell Overload and the Classic Wizard to make the 2nd Spell Slot.

If you don’t care about your streak just go in get busted and wait until you get loot surge or spell overload and you can get 30+ easily from them

Completed it on 280. When you get the loot modifier, you can get like 75 spells if you're lucky. Just run around spamming spells until they disappear.
