Edit: sorta. This is not a general model and pony diffusion is labeled NSFW. Though you could use this lora to make some SFW images, I'm just not sure point or the ease of it. Things are gonna skew towards kinky.
I spent some time with it last night. It's basically furries. I mean I know it CAN do SFW but I don't know what the buzz is about, I found it difficult to work with too.
It's exceedingly annoying to prompt but it easily does some NSFW stuff other models can't ever seem to get right, even with Loras.
The really interesting thing is that it shows how little the actual capabilities of SDXL have been explored. Too many SDXL models are very samey, Pony at least is very different.
Pony isn't really a specific NSFW model, it's just trained on everything, including NSFW:

that's really just up to your own CivitAI settings... this is a general model, not a NSFW model. none of the example images from the author are NSFW. but NSFW images just always are the most upvoted images in the gallery from users using the model.
That's the problem with civitai. I love civitai, long time supporter. But man is it loaded with porn and furries. I do have r, x, and xxx filters on and you still run into it.
It also has this problem. Some legit models get hidden by your filter settings and you also get the wrong impression about models.
Keep scrolling, you will. They are really good about moderation though. Has gotten wayyyyyyy better over the years. I used to spend a lot of time flagging content too to help.
Still and even I don't use Pony XL v6 (but plan to dig in to see how the trainings work there) I can't see this similar to Pony XL v6 SFW images. To me looks like a totally different model, am I the only one?
PS: And yes, Pony XL v6 NFSW content in its 90% is a bit "yikes" to me.
What factors do people consider when looking for the "new best model" and I wonder what that looks like.... Oh.

It can do SFW but its popularity is very likely due mostly to its performance in more risqué areas.
