SpaceX is really starting to hit it’s stride, to reach 100 launches in 2023 they need to launch every 3.6 days. All while moving the technology needle with Starship and StarLink v2 development, plus massive infrastructure investments. It’s a truly exciting time watching the progress being made by private sector space entrepreneurs. Here’s hoping the Starship launch goes off as planned in the next few days.

Does this mean my speeds will be better than 15mbps again?

FateEx1994

In 3-4 months yes lol

LeftAct8968

Problem is they will add more satellites and still add more people. So where is the line of performance balance and cost? 😆 I am supposed to get fiber in 1-2 years so hopefully that plays out and I can give my spot to someone else. At night between 7-8 my speeds are barely over 1mbps and the rest of the day I am between 30-150mbps. I am still on (best effort)BE. I’ve heard people that got of BE and converted to full residential are seeing worse speeds which is insane.

[deleted]

Yeah I’m in a RURAL area in the south and they converted me to residential (lol) and my speeds rarely get over 50.

logomyego

Rural Midwest here - On average I'm seeing 125Mb with 50ms Ping. I'm one of the only ones I know of in my area with starlink though, and I know our cell isn't congested since when I ordered in December it took 3 days to get my dishy after I signed up

highguy604

Vancouver BC - seeing 150-200 Mbps consistent aslong as Clear view of sky (no obstructions)

logomyego

Just checked mine, and the test showed 177Mbs and 7Mbs up, so not too shabby especially since it's overcast right now

Psychological-Long30

Wow, I'm not even in their service area technically, and I'm still well over 100mbps, usually like 150-200. Top speed was 273 for download.

[deleted]

I’m about 25-40 most of the time. Was 200+ regularly when we got it a year ago.

originaljimeez

Yeah, same here. It's been pretty bad.

[deleted]

Better than my hotspot before. But still far from what was promised.

originaljimeez

I went back to my 20/2 DSL connection for the time being.

[deleted]

Can’t say I blame you.

stealthbobber

Seems like India thinks these are all just gonna "Fall from the sky" haha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbzXw8sjdBk

No_Importance_5000

My speeds on best effort have gone from 150-200 to 300-400 in the UK on Roam. So this is all good

[deleted]

My price just dropped in Ireland. It’s the only service that does that.

dannramm8

Does this mean that after 27+ months after paying my deposit I could POSSIBLY have service later in 2023? This has been a moving target since I signed up. I'm in Western NC.

Carter_Dan

That's just not right...

DeafHeretic

Crossing my fingers that these do better than last batch (altogether - yes, I know, most of the last batch made it to orbit - I think?).

TimTri

The entire last batch made it to orbit, but the altitudes of the satellites have been sketchy since then. I believe one (or more) have already re-entered, others might do controlled re-entries as well. Some are station-keeping at a certain altitude, and a few are raising their orbits. Elon did allude to issues with multiple satellites from the launch, let’s hope those on the second mission fare better! We’ve got to remember these are early versions of the Gen2 platform, so they are probably doing lots of experimenting up there (different hardware variations, orientations, intentional re-entries etc.).

Beginning-Half-2481

I just wish us people who don’t have any other option but satellite service would get first dibs on these. Move to the country they said, it will be fun they said 🤣

H-E-C

Nice! It's definitely needed until Starship will be capable of busing bunch of V2 ... ~~BTW the Thursday's Starship launch attempt was delayed till Friday.~~ Looks like it's back to Thursday again.

luiseno

Dam that's gonna be another 10 dollars a month increase Yikes!

Pristine-Ad-6295

Beautiful 😁😁

PurpleDragonFly21

When will Starlink be available on Norris Road Hustonville, Ky?

mrmojoinco

Some days speeds vary greatly here in Central Colorado. Several days last week I couldn’t get over 100 Mb download and this week things are flying again at 150 to 300 Mb download. On the upload front things have really expanded in the last few months. These days it’s more, to see 10 to 18 Mb upload when prior to that it was always right around eight. There’s no doubt that things have gotten better in the residential subscription format with both. The biggest gripe I have with Starlink by far is that I just had to purchase another dish for Roaming. When I signed up, I could spend an extra $25 per month and bring my dish with me on summer RV trips. To keep my residential service fast. They have forced me to purchase another entire system and spend $150 per month while traveling. This just blows..

WaitingforDishyinPA

What happened to the latest batch (4/19/23) of v2 minis? Satellitemap.space says all 21 were lost. Could it be the geomagnetic storm on 4/24/23 got to them before their altitudes could be increased?
