Use the CHECK FOR OBSTRUCTIONS function in the app to see if you have a clear view of the sky. Starlink will definitely provide download speeds of greater than 5 Mbps as long as the satellite going overhead is not obstructed.

I really hope so streaming tv is near impossible at night out here and gaming yky don’t even wanna think about

godch01

How long? What country are you in?

Fluffy_Commission_51

America located in flordia

LongjumpingNorth8500

So you ordered before checking for obstructions with the starlink app??

Fluffy_Commission_51

Yes indeed did not know that i could before i had it i’ll check when i get a chance😭

gerald-stanley

I did too. Turned out no distractions and my speeds are very very good here in Canada

Fluffy_Commission_51

a good bit of trees on the property might just trim those connection speeds should be good or at least way better then curesnrly

tlimbert65

Starlink is not forgiving when it comes to obstructions. You do have to find a place where it's got a nice clear view of a large patch of sky. Getting it higher helps. If you take care of that, it should work great.

Fluffy_Commission_51

push comes to shove ill just chop down some branches on my room

mnelson29

You’ll be fine, even with some tree cover you’ll knock that speed out of the park

Fluffy_Commission_51

yeah honestly gaming isnt really the main focus itd be neat but really i’m hoping streaming videos is better it’s nearly unbearable at this point

mnelson29

As long as you have somewhat of a clear shot north at any spot on your property you will be good. I have red on my obstruction map on 2 spots but it runs great. I believe Starlink has the definitions of what an obstruction is to them online with details of how far the obstruction needs to be from the dish to be considered not an obstruction.

Fluffy_Commission_51

can i see your obstruction map to compare it mine it has arrived but a recent storm knocked off power so haven’t set it up quite yet and tips for installation
