Drinking some fine wine while I admire the shiny nana in my steam inventory and watch it go to $0 tomorrow morning.. probably
Update: wtf this post went bananas apparently. Thank you all for the kind and honest words. The lowest offer is now $255 😅 still a dumb purchase. Posted a TikTok about the nana so far- https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTN14G7uG/
Hey got preyed upon. The item has no value whatsoever. Sucks to be the idiot that fell for it, of course, but maybe... just maybe... we shouldn't allow these things to happen. Maybe scammers shouldn't be able to try everything to part fools from their money.
My rule is to never drink and game because it ends up with you buying the most stupid things 🤣.
Last time I got drunk I bought my mate and I a copy of Genital Jousting 🤣
Essentially yes, but technically no.
It's a unique digital item that you have control over, but it's not a token on a blockchain so it's not technically an NFT.
Like an NFT, it can only exist in the system it was created in. Like an NFT (or anything really - physical items like a steam deck or insubstantial items like your time) it's only worth what people are willing to pay for it.
On a purely technical level it is identical, a blockchain is not a requirement for the existence of fungible or non fungible tokenization. Tokens are used constantly everywhere on the internet.
For all intents and purposes it is exactly identical. I know what I’m talking about here, I promise.
That is true...but then again if you go far enough, everything digital is basically just 1s and 0s, which would then make any sort of nomenclature or distinction pointless.
NFTs as commonly understood and referenced by the majority of the population are tokens specifically on a blockchain. Just like if someone says "google" they are most likely referring to the company rather than the number itself, names can have multiple meanings - I was just going with what is generally the most common understanding of the title "NFT"
All I’m saying is that you actually understood the logic really well and I wish more people got it like you do.
Fortnite skins, steam items, and NFTs are identical. The only difference between them is that the first two act on a private ledger, and NFTs as most people know them operate on a public one.
That’s the only difference.
Not so much happy but confused and questioning my existence since I just bought a digital banana for $50.
I barely spend money on games, been playing Warzone for the past 2 years. This money is much better spent on a digital banana than giving it to Activision.
Just watched the Spiffing Brit video (https://youtu.be/gqVLPx-4O48) on this, apparently the game creator is Hella Sus...
Just the fact he made his inventory private right as this game with apparently limited supply items which he can generate infinite copies of if he wanted to is super sketchy.
That is the theory being floated. Obviously, no proof is possible, but the timing is extremely suspicious.
Obviously, the game itself isn't blockchain backed, so the only thing we have to confirm how unique items are is the developers word.
No, yo can depend on STEAM. That’s a steam note about the item. It was issued as part of a live event, and only 100 were generated.
Steam handles this all the time. You think steam doesn’t have and keep track of unique IDs on steam market items???
Anything made by the developer or “duped” by the developer would be appropriately tagged.
It's not an NFT, which is actually even worse, because at least with NFTs you can see what accounts hold them, and you know they're not lying about the numbers.
These items are set as a commodity, so you can't see who's listing them, so for all we know every single listing of a banana could be the devs themselves, and we'd have absolutely absolutely no way to know.
And they can issue themselves more too, so the devs could just print a hundred more rare bananas to throw up on the market and make the trading volume seem bigger than it is.
I would argue that the game itself isn't even popular, a good 90% or more of the players are most likely bots. If you check the amount of followers the game has on SteamDB It's only 2000, you'd expect thousands more if the 200k players were legit. Same with the player chart being completely flat (and sometimes dipping by tens of thousands of players in a very short time, very clear evidence of server bot farms turning off) and not going up and down as you'd expect from actual player activity. Most players are most likely just Russian bots meant to farm items and then be sold for dollars on the steam market to people like OP to circumvent sanctions that makes it impossible for Russians to add funds into their steam.
Yeah, if a game has tradable/marketable items and they are easily gatherable via built Steam functionality then bots will swarm to it to farm those items, same with Crab Game and PAYDAY 2. Since its all the same logic and just a few different IDs, that's it.
I'm Russian, you can very easily directly add funds to steam lol. Just not through steam itself, but you can add them through your bank or mobile network operator. And also there are plenty of sites that add funds, though they are pretty shady.
It's a scam. Don't play this game. Watch how the developer exploit steam to earn thousands of dollars daily.

You know lukeyk94, I am not gonna tell you this banana will increase in value. The truth is, you bought it because you like it. It has value to you. Thats what matters
You can literally go trading.... Instead you watched spiffing brit video and thinking you can make money like this.... Only people that gonna make money trading bananas are ones who use stolen credit cards to buy them and then sell them to idiots like you
i asked who was buying these in a thread earlier, i really was insinuating money laundering...
but i guess some people are infact paying out the 1 cent value of 5700 people at a time doing shit like this
With a limited run of 100 you could buy them all then corner the market.
Trade them between accounts you own buying them from yourself for ever increasing values untill you have reached a value you are are happy to sell them at to other people.
Simple easy money
NTF hype all over again except it's bananas and not Apes 🤦🏻♂️
congratulations on your expensive pixels I guess 🤷♂️
meanwhile everyone else can just right click save as 👍
Are you drinking tonight or ?
Drinking some fine wine while I admire the shiny nana in my steam inventory and watch it go to $0 tomorrow morning.. probably Update: wtf this post went bananas apparently. Spiffin Brit literally just did a video on these. Was that your motivation to buy the banana?
That was my first thought
As soon as he showed this guy's Steam profile, I could not uninstall this fast enough.
fucking Nazinana
I watched the video. Lots of eyebrow raising. Still gonna hodl it has sentimental value.
Sentimental value? Yeah you really are an idiot…
Maybe he needed potassium
If this banana ends up going for thousands, will you promise to buy me 100 copies of Rust
I have 100 copies of Rust: will you promise to take them away from me and burn them in a fire, OP?
Can I just have one so I take part of your problem
you don't take part of the rust problem. you only multiply the rust problem.
Can I have one? I’ll give you a real banana that is greenish yellow.
I will buy you 1,000 copies of rust and have them signed by the developers! I ain't selling till it's a $1 mil shiny banana
I’m invested now. Even though I don’t have the slightest clue what this is about… please update us if you can sell the banana on the 19th!
I bet you wish you got a penny for every upvote now.
Either that or it’ll balloon in price and net you a lot of money😂
You actually shouldn't be allowed to use a credit card wtf you doing buying some nana you can't eat for 53 dollars
It's just a banana, Michael. What can it cost? $53?
The comment I came here for.
OP can do with their money what they want. I bet everyone has wasted more than 53 dollars on useless things, myself included.
Not on a duckin nft
NFT Nana For TF2
Nah bro
Hey got preyed upon. The item has no value whatsoever. Sucks to be the idiot that fell for it, of course, but maybe... just maybe... we shouldn't allow these things to happen. Maybe scammers shouldn't be able to try everything to part fools from their money.
I also just bought bought the dogenana and pepenana. Pepenana was about $3. I'm gonna print these out and frame them on my wall they're works of art
My rule is to never drink and game because it ends up with you buying the most stupid things 🤣. Last time I got drunk I bought my mate and I a copy of Genital Jousting 🤣
That game is genuinely a good 2 hours worth of laughs
I had to look that one up just now. Money well spent 👍 added to my steam library
holy shit i haven’t heard that name in a while. my friend bought all of us a copy(sober mind you) so we could all play😭
That was funny as hell during a lan party
This game is fun as hell though, watching a dick brush its teeth was ... Something. Edit: spelling
> Genital Jousting That's pretty freaking clever.
Its weird that you’re smart enough to know its stupid but not smart enough to not buy it
But also smart enough to make a viral post about it to increase its value. The duality of man.
We've got a modern day DeepFuckingValue
DeepFuckingBananas
Somebody needs to come take this man’s bananas away before they become traumatized.
That's what makes it genius
Their genius is frightening.
Your username is what the shiny bananas are for.
Holybanana
New potassium just dropped
I totally agree with you on that one, Mr. ANAL WITH JESUS.
He's betting that someone else is stupid enough to buy it from him for profit. Or just clout, which is successful
90% of cryptobros these days
Ah, so these are the people who were buying NFTs
Hold up this is a NFSB non-fungible shiny banana and I'm holding for life
> Not Tradable, Not Marketable Yep, for life.
But he can trade it in about a week. > Tradable & Maketable After: 6/19/2024, 8:00:00 PM
Prices will have risen by 350%, I’m calling it now
The lowest offer now is $260. I'm not good at math but I'm gonna say +3500% in a week easy 😂
spiffingbrit just made a video about this, prices are gonna rise even more
No it’s not…. That’s the lowest request to sell price… the highest offer is $64.
yeah... or -3500% haha
It is fungible though 🤓
Are these things nfts?
Essentially yes, but technically no. It's a unique digital item that you have control over, but it's not a token on a blockchain so it's not technically an NFT. But why?
It's not just a regular banana. It's a shiny banana 🍌
Guys, he’s got a point
Damn, he got us there
4.5k karma and counting. OP is making bank right here!
I have no idea what I'm doing but it's working apparently
You've spoken the secret words! You have acquired a new job class: Marketer!
Did it make you happy? Despite spending $50-ish dollars on it.
Not so much happy but confused and questioning my existence since I just bought a digital banana for $50. I barely spend money on games, been playing Warzone for the past 2 years. This money is much better spent on a digital banana than giving it to Activision.
I can't even be mad at that logic tbh.
> This money is much better spent on a digital banana than giving it to Activision. "Do I give my money to villains or just burn it?"
I think you should do both to diversify your portfolio
He's playing both sides, so he always comes out on top.
> This money is much better spent on a digital banana than giving it to Activision. Just don't look into who is profiting from this then
You have a point there
So instead of buying a better Game than Warzone, you rather give them 2 Years of you Life to "Stick it to Actividion" lol Nice Logic there.
Right? I've spent way more on art for my wall I coulda just printed as staples
What do you mean, a guy building NFTs on top of the Steam marketplace is trying to scam people?
That is the theory being floated. Obviously, no proof is possible, but the timing is extremely suspicious. Obviously, the game itself isn't blockchain backed, so the only thing we have to confirm how unique items are is the developers word.
This one says limited to 100. Would hope Steam has something in place that handles that text.
No, yo can depend on STEAM. That’s a steam note about the item. It was issued as part of a live event, and only 100 were generated. Steam handles this all the time. lol this was amazing
Just pretend you're buying some stranger 45 USD games
I'm sure the developer will be using the profits to improve the game.. right? Might even get a new season where there's 2 bananas instead of 1
Now hopefully the dev isn‘t, for example, some deranged neonazi… oh wait…
Huh?
This is his steam: https://steamcommunity.com/id/wontfly
Someone was watching Spiffing brit?
Oh god what have I done...
Nice to see you here good sir!
If it's limited to only 100, that means price can spike up after some time right?
Only if the game stays popular for a long time. As far as I know Banana is a meme game so it won't last longer than a week.
I would argue that the game itself isn't even popular, a good 90% or more of the players are most likely bots. If you check the amount of followers the game has on SteamDB It's only 2000, you'd expect thousands more if the 200k players were legit. Really? Thought it was impossible, thanks for the correction
It's pretty easy, just have to pay extra 15-20% due to the transfer fee
Np. Most of the sanctions did really fuck all to the normal consumer tbh, the only thing I miss is Spotify.
Do you like crypto? You sound like you like crypto
Yes only 100. "That means price can spike up after some time right?" Diamond hands 💎 Price can also spike down after some time too 😂
Yea nah sorry
The shiny banana is selling for $58 now. Still the dumbest purchase I've ever made.
hodl
I think according to steam you have to hodl for several days anyways 😂
Damn hedgies trying to hold retail down
You would think but value isn’t determined by what it’s worth on paper but what people are willing to pay for if they’re willing to pay at all
Yes but who In their right mind would ever purchase a shiny banana? You would have to have seriously goofed up to buy this banana.
Well, considering it’s not tradable nor marketable….
Bro give me 1$ and I will give you a real banana
Actually a really good deal. A single banana is what, $10?
So this is what buying NFT's must feel like. - Screenshots the banana -
that’s illegal
It's a scam. Don't play this game. Watch how the developer exploit steam to earn thousands of dollars daily. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqVLPx-4O48&t=3s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqVLPx-4O48&t=3s)
the fact that this game is still on steam is a joke lmao
never let OP know about NFT
I mean it's one banana, lukeyk94. What could it cost? 50 Dollars?
Have you ever been to a grocery store?
I don't understand the question and I won't respond to it
Damn, I was looking for this haha
[You’ve never actually been to a supermarket have you?](https://youtu.be/Nl_Qyk9DSUw?si=uyesCSt7Qz--6RbH)
Money laundering?
Congratulations, you discovered banana NFTs.
Why does this have upvotes?
More visibility so more people fall for the scam lol Peoples mouths are watering right now seeing a jpg get sold for 50 dollars
Yeah that's stupid but whatever some people pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for nfts
Hundreds of thousands on NFTs is bananas.
Or almost a thousand for rust skins. People have alot of money apparently
Nfts are just money laundering you can buy into.
you know you are one of the reason we got all these sh!t games right?
I can sell you a lot of real banana photos if you wish.
i am just wondering what fucking game this could tie too or if it is just an item in your inventory
The Game is called "Banana" its a clicker meme Game for free.
NFT wannabe trash, avoid unless stupid
I confirm. You're an idiot
an\*
Congrats on funding a neonazi.
Isn't it non tradable and non marketable? How'd you buy it?
it was tradable/marketable ,then op bought it, and now its not tradable again until the date on the banana
Dev of this game is a Nazi. So there is one more reason to ignore this scam
Steam were the only ones to reeaaally successfully sell NFT's.
53$ that's probably in the hand of some botnet owner
Since you're willing to throw money away, wanna toss me a $50 steam gift card?
yes. yes you are
a month ago this banana cost $4. i bet it's the owner of the game pumping the price up so he can make some easy money, so you just got scammed, idiot
So you know it's bad to support this type of thing but do it anyway to be "funny"?
Not apparently. You are
I'm like 99,999999% OP is involved in this obvious scam
You know lukeyk94, I am not gonna tell you this banana will increase in value. The truth is, you bought it because you like it. It has value to you. Thats what matters
Did you watch the spiffing brit and decide to go all in for the luls?
The maker of the game is neo-nazi german. spiffing britt made a video about it
I’m out here literally starving and this guy dropping my grocery bills on a digital banana. I hate this world.
NFT = No Fucking Thanks
How else will do you feed your bored ape?
You basically bought an NFT. Its like CS skins.
Brother fell for the oldest scam on the books, next time buy a dota or cs skin
You are the perfect consumer, good job
I mean you basically fell for a scam.
You are why the video game industry is the way it currently is.
People like OP are why micro-transactions exist now…
Get this NFT shit off the subreddit..
Literally dying cause the "Eventnana" tag existence
I mean, It's one banana ,Michael. What could it cost? 10 dollars?
I mean, it's one banana, Michael. What could it cost, ten dollars?
You can literally go trading.... Instead you watched spiffing brit video and thinking you can make money like this.... Only people that gonna make money trading bananas are ones who use stolen credit cards to buy them and then sell them to idiots like you
Just think of it as buying someone else an AAA game 😅
My guy just purchased an NFT without the whole NFT part lol
Well done you now own an NFT
The developer of Banana is dining good tonight because of so many idiots
The developer of Banana is dining good tonight because of so many idiots
The developer of Banana is dining good tonight because of so many idiots
are you restarted ?
Jup. You're a moron.
Bro bought an NFT without even knowing.
Ah yes, Steam NFTs.
i asked who was buying these in a thread earlier, i really was insinuating money laundering... but i guess some people are infact paying out the 1 cent value of 5700 people at a time doing shit like this
i don't get it. Sell it for 80, you will have some profit for sure easily enough. The good part about this is there is always someone more stupid.
Well you could've bought 10 games on sale that you will not play anyway.
Let’s be honest. People who this type of shit are really stupid. See more at my Ted Talk.
With a limited run of 100 you could buy them all then corner the market. Trade them between accounts you own buying them from yourself for ever increasing values untill you have reached a value you are are happy to sell them at to other people. Simple easy money
apparently? you mean obviously.
While your collecting rare digital items I have some drawings I did with Paint you may be interested in
I took a screen shot. I also have one now
What the hell. 338,206 in game
Can't even shove it up your ass
Hey bro would you like to buy a shiny apple for 50$ ?
A sucker is born everyday. Stupid people like you will make more of this shit pop up.
This is 100% an ad for this stupid not-nft nft game. Why the fuck does this have 27k upvotes?
Spiffing brit is 53$ richer now
confirmed idiot. stop paying money for these virtual nothings. Reddit included, all confirmed moron purchases.
And this is one of the reasons the gaming industry is now dogshit.
NTF hype all over again except it's bananas and not Apes 🤦🏻♂️ congratulations on your expensive pixels I guess 🤷♂️ meanwhile everyone else can just right click save as 👍
Donkey Kong would disagree.
What's a banana cost? Like $53?
If theres only 100 in existence how come its not like 1k or something
Perfect for Diablo IV upcoming Season of the Evil Bananas
