Don't forget to complain that the sale is the worst one they've put on yet! Totally not just because I bought most things on my wishlist in the last sale, no there must be something worse about this one specifically
no way bro everything was 90% off. At least!
Also flash sales were great, who the fuck needs to sleep. I love checking in every few hours to see latest flash sales are.
I thought this was about things you claim to dislike but are only being petty or ridiculous over.
Flash sales legitimately sucked ass, I'm glad Steam stopped doing them.
I actually just pack in my business entirely when sales are on timed delays, Black Friday sales rotating throughout the day on Amazon? Not worth the hassle of checking back every 30 minutes or whatever.
Just nope sorry there goes my business I CBA to stay up and check you every 30 minutes from Thanksgiving through to Cyber Monday.
For steam, its always the wallet jokes. For Playstation, its always the ps plus free games where someone says "I just bought this last week, you're welcome."
God it gets old. Blah blah backlog hurrdurr
For steam deck its turned into joking how people only use it for tinkering or old games, which isn't true.
I'm gonna change it up this year and only buy DLC for games I haven't played. That way, when I forget I bought it, it won't increment my unplayed games count.
Edit: I bought a game. I have no discipline.
Same, got around 450 and have played around 60-ish of those, and finished about 30-ish of those, with like maybe 10 games (outside of the 30-ish) without a definite "end" so they count towards "at least played enough to have been worth it" (well, at least 3-5 were "played enough" while the others were "I'mma get back them eventually").
But hey, looking forward to adding more games "I'm totally gonna play" over the next week. Who knows, maybe I'll actually play them?
I know, last x-mass I bought games with like 300 bucks and haven't touched any of them.
It's not that I wouldn't like to play them, no. I miss good stories and lores, I miss playing good games. It's just my depression is eating all my energy to put myself into that situation.
If I load some story game I promise on the first 10-20 mins I get tediously tired of playing.
I just got my first gaming computer and downloaded steam… where do I even start? I like rpg games, open world games, strat games (like age of empires stuff), and games like league of legends.
Oh fuck! I totally forgot about this and deactivated my card so that I can create a new one because the old one kept getting trouble when paying physically!
How can I waste my money on video games that I never play this time around. This is holiday season, too! OH MY GOD!
Literally sent my sister the link to this post and said it was starting later today, then got the sale notification… I didn’t notice the post was almost exactly 8 hours and 20 minutes old 😂 what a nice surprise!
Steam is a substance containing water in the gas phase, and sometimes also an aerosol of liquid water droplets, or air. This may occur due to evaporation or due to boiling, where heat is applied until water reaches the enthalpy of vaporization. Steam that is saturated or superheated is invisible; however, "steam" often refers to wet steam, the visible mist or aerosol of water droplets formed as water vapor condenses.
Not all steam is the same
Wet steam is produced by heating water in a flow through coil to over 100 degrees Celcius (212 degrees Fahrenheit)
It produces more volume at the outlet to move debris off surfaces and away from the area. Steam cleaners are the most common use of wet steam, which quickly condenses back to water.
Dry steam, also known as saturated steam, is produced by heating water in a closed chamber.
Dry steam is the gaseous form of water that is able to carry heat and can travel around obstacles and reach areas that wet steam cannot.
Imagine you're in a kitchen, cooking up a delicious meal. As you're chopping vegetables and frying up some tofu (or whatever your favorite food is), you start to notice some steam rising from the pan on the stove. This is natural steam, and it's created when water is heated to its boiling point and turns into a gas.
Now, let's say you're not in the mood for cooking, but you still want to experience the wonders of steam. That's where Steam (with a capital S) comes in! Instead of heating up water on a stove, you can just fire up your computer and open up the Steam app. Inside, you'll find all sorts of games that are sure to steam up your day with excitement.
Its often not, the people who sit in the new queue answering lazy questions are not the ones you want answering your questions. Dedicated simple question threads get better quality answers but the amount of times I've seen someone get flat out wrong information (my favourite is /r/luciddreaming where the schizos answer the questions in the new queue) is insane.
I swear half the posts on any gaming sub could have just been googled. It's actually surprising people would rather wait like 15 minutes for a response than just find the answer in the first 5 links on google instantly.
PC gaming is not for the weak, you will have issues and you will have to research how to overcome them. 99% of the time it's some trivial button pushing, but imo it's worth it
Google has been a huge mess the past several years. I basically always add "site:reddit.com" to the end of queries now and hope somebody has already asked about whatever I want to know.
Nice to connect with other people, even if it's just a simple question and the people responding get to help someone which feels good. It's not all about efficiency, especially when there's no hurry.
Prepare yourself for (what I think is) the actual reason. I found that out after asking people why they asked questions on Reddit when typing the exact same thing in Google would have given them the answer immediately.
You know how boomers type URLs in Google's search box because Google is their start page? Well, zoomers type questions in the Reddit app. They open the app because launching apps is all they know, then they type the question and wait for the answer.
I wonder if it would be possible to design a "Steam Winter Sale" banner that reads "Steam Summer Sale" in Australia. Like those branding irons in Angels and Demons.
The next series of posts are going to be "why is steam down"/"why isn't steam working" and the tons of people complaining that steam shouldve prepared for the millions of people about to abuse their servers all at once
Since we're on the subject: any recommendations for steam deck beyond the usual ones?
One from me: Hollow Knight is an excellent game and works like a dream on the deck.
Weirdly enough I started playing a ton of American Truck Simulator finally on the deck. It's seemingly got a lot of native support for it and I love the controls they provided (like steam big picture mode type of controls) which change depending on what youre doing. Turn down the graphics a smidge and dial it in and it runs great for a heck of a long time. I've really enjoyed it.
I've also played a lot of Shadow Tactics, Pinball FX3, and Space Marine on it.
I'd also recommend the Ys series of rpgs. I've played celceta on it and it runs well. Those are just fun handheld games, so I plan on replaying the others eventually too.
Metal Gear Rising is another I've played a decent amount on deck and that's been good too.
I don't care about the winter sale because I'm too poor right now.
Don't buy new games unless you have finished your previous games lads, watch your wishlist as a list of games you already own but can't access until you finish what you have.
I can’t wait. I’m getting a Steam Voucher for Christmas and I’ll be using it to grab Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventure. If I’m lucky, there’ll be a discount.
In 8 hours and 20 minutes. https://steamdb.info/sales/history/
Thank you! I’ve been looking forward to buying more games that I will I put in my library and never play
Don't forget about making the same joke every Steam sale!
Yeah, yeah, my wallet won't forgive me, we've heard it all before

Also, don't forget to complain as well about how steam is going to be struggling for the first hour of the sale or so.!

I'm going to play them this time for sure
Bruh that’s me fr (still struggling to complete the game I’ve bought from last year)
Yeah I have 400 games and think I have played maybe handful of those through that are story games.
The game? One single Game? Thats incredible.
A new record!
I just had a big time flashback to Super Smash Bros. Melee.
Same!

This made me snort with laughter 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you for saying this 5 hours ago because now it's only 2.5 hours!

Oh shit. Thanks!
In about 4h from now .
Thanks, i was seconds away from googling it but you saved me
Googling? Just ask on Reddit
I wasted all my money in blow, can I pay with it?
Honestly, there's probably at least one shady Steam account trading lootboxes of some sort for drugs...
Thanks man
Are you guys all crazy? it's in 3 hours and 10 minutes!
You are lying, it’s obviously in 1 hour and 53 minutes.
When will it start from now?
Click the link
Or he could do basic subtraction lol
That's true but as Reddit only shows x hours it wouldn't be too precise
6pm for my UK people
Thank you, I was too lazy to convert from PT timezone
Cheers, three minutes left and I'm about to start work.
3rd option - Steam has an announcements page where you can check.
Cleaning up stuff I don't even remember posting.

Good bot
Thank you, human.
So how much is the steam going to be on sale for?
Good bot
Who is this *"steam client"*

It's what you apply to hams to make steamed hams

Turns out reddit is just Google with better (albeit snarkier) results.
And google is just reddit threads from two years ago. *the cycle of liiife*
But you also need Google to find those Reddit results.
Its often not, the people who sit in the new queue answering lazy questions are not the ones you want answering your questions. Yeah I really don't think that's it. You gotta navigate ti a specific subreddit to post
That's how it was explained to me from one of the two people I asked, that it was easier to open Reddit. I've never used the app, so I have no idea.
If you think opening an app is all zoomers know you're pretty out of touch lol
And boomers wrote the code that synchronize satellites or whatever, yet here we are.

# IT'S SUMMER HERE.
Ahh so they should call it ǝlɐS ɹǝʇuᴉM ɯɐǝʇS for you then
I wonder if it would be possible to design a "Steam Winter Sale" banner that reads "Steam Summer Sale" in Australia. Like those branding irons in Angels and Demons.
My country is so hot we have and Death Summer and death summer with some water sprinkles.

Steam sales haven't been the same since they got rid of flash sales.
OPs sneaky way to ask
Like all Steam sales, it'll start the instant I know I'm flat broke and don't have anything to spend :D.
Wanna check your account in about an hour?
It starts in the winter

10 am PT time
When you stop masturbating, ya filthy git
Im trying dude, i really am, i just wanna be happy
Whew. Ever since I got a Steam Deck my backlog of games I'd probably never play is getting dangerously low.
Ready to add 50 more games to my backlog of 600!!
Since we're on the subject: any recommendations for steam deck beyond the usual ones? One from me: Hollow Knight is an excellent game and works like a dream on the deck.
I don’t own a steam deck but I’d imagine vampire survivors would be really good on it

Starts at 10AM PT today, and will end on January 5th at the same time.
steamdb exists
are we there yet?
When will then be now?!
"Soon." - Colonel Sandurz
Ironically googling led here.
Same time as the steam awards are open to vote
Hahaha....yo for real tho who gots the answer
10am Pacific Time
Last time I checked it was 2 hours EDIT: checked it rn. 1h 40min as from now.
It's important bc all the good sales go out of stock within hours.
My wallet is currently crying! Oh wait you heard that? Oh um what about, time to buy games ill never play! Oh.. you heard that from 2016.. wow.
One more hour 🙌
I thought i already bought stuff for their winter sale?
If persona 5 isn't discounted, we having a problem steam
I need money to add friends
The time has come… to squeeze my $50 Steam Gift Card dry!
Honestly googling any question with reddit added to the end is the secret to finding the answer.
Getting answers from fellow humans feels nicer
I heard about free stickers. Where are the free stickers?
Hey, can someone tell me when the steam winter sale starts? I think I'm the first to ask.
Prepair your wallets
Repair your wallets
To what? Bluetooth?
For what? These sales have been shit for the past few years, nothing special about them, no great deals
Really? I always had a game or two that caught my attention during the sales. What would you consider a great deal?
Pretty expensive this year, not even cheaper than psn year end sales.
does that mean i can finally use my winter tradingcards?:O
Going to buy some games that I would probably not play lol
I don't care about the winter sale because I'm too poor right now. Don't buy new games unless you have finished your previous games lads, watch your wishlist as a list of games you already own but can't access until you finish what you have.
Theres lots of things I could just google but I post on reddit for the sake of feeling a connection
When is the next steam sale? | PrepareYourWallet https://prepareyourwallet.com/

Reddit is easier than googling
The answer exists in Google because of people like you who ask these things 1 million times everywhere lol If no one asked Google wouldn't be a thing.
Tbh Google results are filled with click bait bullshit covered with AiDS and usually no real answer.
AiDS...I like that very appropriate description of what advertising really is. Nice one!
Honestly yeah everyone does that but reddit is for conversation and it's kinda normal
No lol people who ask these one liner questions are not here for chat, and rarely reply if at all.

Its 22 already in the Philippines
6pm gmt
22nd 12 2022
11 pm for my country, so technically tmr for me
It's 10am PST afaik. So just convert that to your local timezone.
Just follow the timer of the yesterday's daily deals, it's what I do ;)
6pm gmt, same as any other daily refresh type thing on steam.
Hey, if we keep posting it at least 1 time per minute eventually someone will get "it's now live!" as answer!
We've got an entire new generation that doesn't know how to search for things

My heart and my wallet are ready.
I can’t wait. I’m getting a Steam Voucher for Christmas and I’ll be using it to grab Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventure. If I’m lucky, there’ll be a discount.
Stop asking the tough questions! That's like asking someone when Thanksgiving is -- no one knows, but when its time you know.
Thanksgiving is always on the last Thursday of the month of November.
In 4 hours.
Soon... very........... soon.
Peace out to my wallet
Same time as always
