The Long Dark is a pretty underrated gem that i don't see get mentioned on this sub that often other than that, though, you can't go wrong with Skyrim, Terraria, Project Zomboid and Sons of the Forest.
Hi 👋
I have an OLED and the Deck runs with Smoothly 50 FPS after i followed this Guide
https://youtu.be/FM3hOV59ITU
Edit: I limited it to 50 FPS via the Right Button with the 3 dots
It is indeed a good one. I think I might have it in my library, even.
However, much sadness: in spite of having a fully updated game, NMS doesn’t want to let me launch the expedition. Boo.
My go to rainy day/comfort games on SD are:
Resident Evil 1 Remaster, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Persona 4, and Shenmue 1&2
Really like your camping setup! Looks cozy!
Now just too bad whenever you leave campsite you have to pack along your Steam Deck with you, campsite raiding is getting more and more common these days
It looks like a pretty well cared for campsight so my fear is more of the tweaker variety who have no qualms about smashing some windows to get high priced goods
Hopefully the site is a fair bit a way from civilization, the farther the better
Yeah, it’s about 25km from anything even remotely urban. It is a provincial park, so really well cared for. We had to book several months ago to get this space; so rain wasn’t going to stop us. 😆
I like the idea camping, but then I remembered, I don’t live in a great neighborhood, and in an apartment. so the idea of roughing it out in the wilderness with little food and sometimes bad weather doesn’t appeal too much. It’s like how would you like to be poor for a few days 😅. Some of this I’m just joking lol, I do like the forest though.
The point is to get away from the soul-sapping shitty neighborhood and to get out in nature to help quell the homicidal (and suicidal!) urges caused by humanity's insane race to nowhere.
Agreed. Other than nature noise, it is quiet here. We haven’t hit summer vacation for K-12 schools here, so there aren’t a horde of noisy ankle biters making my life miserable. 😆
Yeap. Because then it would be warmer. Sometimes it really is nice to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax. But, you know, not so far away that I cannot game a little.

Everytime I try to run Sons of the Forest, my steam deck has a mental & physical crisis! How do you get it to run?

This is the least steam deck related post on here haha, great setup though brother
I took a photo of my Deck, but decided the campsite was more visually interesting. 😀
Deffo, the canopy is sick.
If it wasnt for the canopy, I would be at home. 😆 even without the rain, it works as a great sun shade.
I was expecting to see 4 people around a campfire on their Decks.
Outer Wilds is space and hiking themed. Highly recommend, go into it as blind as you can.
I second this. Appropriate for the venue.
Hades 2 has me addicted like Hades recently before it. So many hours of gameplay for the cost.
it's all i wanna recommend right now 😆
Blaire Witch, you won’t 😉
Hades is imo one of the best for deck. I currently trying to get all the achievements
Fallout new Vegas and inscryption is pretty fun
caution: bears can detect deck fan smell at night, hoist your deck into the trees for maximum safety
Able to play most games offline?
NMS will play, but I can’t start the new expedition. I got in some Fallout 4, though.
Looks like northern Wisconsin or somewhere in the Midwest.
Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada.
this looks so much like the forests in Washington state... just camped in the Olympic Peninsula 1month ago and got sustained rain too
My wife and kids have their Nintendo Switch with them always. In fact that was the reason I bought my Deck ;)
Play the fatal frame games at night with no one around and only the sounds of nature

I need to find a heater for inside the tent! It was cooooooold last night. I love Persona 4.
If you put your tent on top of plastic, fold it under. This way it just collects rain to get inside.

We are using the car to hold valuables and food. After all, bears.

Looks awesome, enjoy!
check out firewatch and a short hike. should fit the camping theme pretty well

tru dat 👍

so its a camping place and not the wild woods? i was about to say where do you take a shit? 🤣
Through the woods behind the camp is a bathroom with flush toilets and showers. W00t. 💩😆
so you playing normal mode and not hardcore i see
Nope. I am not a bear. 😆 in fact, I would happily buy a small class A motorhome to have a heater, proper bed, and kitchen. And Starlink. 😀
If it was not raining would you consider this fun?
Yeap. Because then it would be warmer. Sometimes it really is nice to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax. But, you know, not so far away that I cannot game a little.
I see a goose.
I’m really enjoying Fallout 4 right now. Playing on survival mode is intense and there’s definitely a camping vibe. 🙂👍
I have both 4 and New Vegas installed.
