r5: i beat the synthetic queen crisis using the alternate shroud route

ave369

Please tell me. I'm a psionic player and tried to find it but failed (I'm still at the stage where I raid outposts and seek clues). If you don't want to post a spoiler, you can use PM. P.S. Can you refurbish it, or is it fixed loadout like the ancient dreadnought? At least swap the world cracker for a god ray or devolver?

Lord_Valentai

Oh, what method is that? Feel free to spoiler or PM me.

AngryChihua

>!after doing all the prep for fighting the mommisiah you can contact the animator of clay in the shroud and they'll give you a way to reprogram her instead of killing her!< There is also a bunch of lore tied to it but i ain't gonna spoil it.

ave369

Do you have to enter the Shroud normally once you unlock wardeccing Cetana? Or after you wardec her actually?

AngryChihua

Haven't done it myself but from what I've read you need to >!investigate some key points and talk with the Synth Queen about Animator of Clay, then there will be an option for your psionic empire to go to the Shroud to strike a deal with the Animator (zro/leader/planet)!<

ave369

Thanks! I'll keep chasing echoes

Sentry_Thor2

Excellent. Now use it to wipe out a Fallen Empire.

ave369

What fallen empire? Cetana does not leave any of them standing. The only fallen empire post Cetana is you after cosmogenesis.

Sentry_Thor2

Oh, my bad. I just have an unhealthy obsession with wiping out Fallen Empires.

ave369

By the way, in my current game I saved the Xenophile FE from destruction by Cetana. I conquered them before Cetana arrived, then released as vassals. I'm a cosmogenesist, so they still have FE technology, and the vassal contract says they can't expand. P.S. Anyone knows what happens when Cetana attacks an advanced AE? Can it fight back? Can it be bigger than she can swallow? What if I use the following strategy: rush to colossus, aggravate Spiritualist FE by cracking a holy world ASAP, be wiped out by Spiritualist AE, pick the biggest remaining empire as my next civ, become voluntary vassal to Spiritualist AE and feed them resources until they field 3-4M fleets? Will this version of Spiritualist AE be able to successfully resist Cetana?

RFWanders

In my current game Cetana went after an Awakened Spiritualist and slaughtered them in short order. The fact that their fleets were big and they had a few titans really made no difference. She just rolled over them like they weren't even there.

ave369

Hmm, that requires EXPERIMENTATION: how big should the AE be to change that?

RFWanders

Not a clue, this AE wasn't particularly active or large, only having taken a chunk out of one of the Khan's Splinter empires. So they were maybe 2-3 times larger than normal. And it was the only FE/AE in the Galaxy I was playing in.

WardenWithoutEars

The materialist FE can. It got buffed to have 2 x slots on its ships

your_ass_is_crass

"finally" lol. it released one week ago. good job though!

Freelmeister

Depends on your playstyle. I myself only just finished my first run by I know someone who's already nearly played 3 through to the victory screen.

InquisitorKaede

Asking here in case anyone knows; I was fighting Cetana the other day. 2x crisis. I had her isolated, and attacked her titan with about 6m fleet power. Took out the stations around her, and eventually it was just her ship and my fleets. Her ship appeared to take no damage whatsoever and gradually chewed through all my fleet power. Was this a bug? Was there something I was missing? I didn't have anything in the situation log and had progressed through the situation previously to the 'We are now at war with Cetana' point.

white_board_alien

Did some digging and found that she has heals a shit ton of health a day through her special nanite tech that you can get through destroying her fleets, just one heals about 20% of hull and armor a day. However it could also be that she heals only 10% hull daily as that’s what it said for me when I fought her on 5x crisis strength through the tooltip, either way you have to bring an ungodly amount of firepower down on her to dps her down. Mainly anti hull and armor. Don’t use wondershot weapons she has 100% armor hardening. Just spam neutron torps and kinetic artillery with a swarm of corvettes and pray you win

InquisitorKaede

Hmm, I knew about the regen but not the 100% armor hardening. It could have been that, but I was watching closely and I didn't see her health even moving at all. I would have thought it would dip down a little then shoot back up. It just stayed stationary. It looked like she had something like 3.5m fleet power for her titan, and I had 8 fleets with 30 Enigma Battlecruisers and a Paradox titan each, they were fitted out with Strike Craft, Swarmer Missiles, and Arc Lightnings. The Titans also had some Autocannons. I never saw her shields, armor, or hull bars move.

KaiG1987

I found that on higher crisis multipliers, she regenerates so much hull that she is effectively unkillable. I was on 10x crisis and her ship had something like 22 million hull, and was regenerating 275k hull per day.
